  1. Fairly easy solution to that: Up GTN caps and implement direct trade caps. Sure, there would be some grumbling, but putting a say 100 mil, or even 250 mil or so cap on direct trades and boom, all that high value trade goes via the GTN. And even if tax rates weren't increased, that voluem of high vlaue items aloen woudl reduce massive amoutns of credits every week. That aside, another idea besides big credit sinks is to add in a bunch of (comparatively) small ones. Want to use 'return to previous location' after a flashpoint, use quick travel, or heroic transport? that'll pull 1k from your character. If the char has no money, the travel costs are waived. Again there will be some grumbling, but honestly who cares about 1k travel costs for a heroic that brings 25k? Not many. And meanwhile, combined those fees will extract a LOT of credits from the game. And if you want to protect new players, exemt legacies with less than 1k achievement points. Another thing is a 'rent' on Guild Flagships/Strongholds. Throw in 500k- 1 mil a week in rent for strongholds/Flagships, if the Guild doesn't pay they don't have acess to the ship during that week, and can't commit to Guild conquests and such. Again, even for small guidls 1 mil a week is not much, and won't face to much friction, but it will all add up to remove credits from the economy in lots of little drops.
  2. Okay, I finally got it to work. WHat i did was I went into the AMD controll software and forced it to overwrite the AA setting for the game with the simpelst option it had. The game took liek 2 mintues to laod up this time, but it works again.
  3. To help narrow it down and clarify it then, I am currently on: Version 10.0.19041 Build 19041 According to my system information, which is, as far as i can fidn out, the msot up to date consumer version.
  4. Got the same problem on win 10, no previous suggestion worked, and spent hours yesterday to force the system on the newest non-beta windows version7updates I could get. According to my system currently on WIn 10, 2004 right now, with everything up to date.
  5. Tried that as well, sadly I got the same result as before :/. But thanks for trying to help
  6. Well, can't be 100% sure as I run my system in german, but I assume you mean the checkbox right above the run as administrator checkbox right? I tried with no comp, and run as admin and the one above it ticked on. Also tried both with and withotu the 'run at 640x480' checkbox that is the third i nthat 'block' of checkboxes. And I did that with the launcher exe and the swtor exe in the retail folder.
  7. Same problem. Launcher seems to do its work just fine, then when i hit play it diessapears as intended, a black screen shows for a second or two liek the game is strating up, then back to desktop. Tried changing the ini, flushing the DNS, forcing a repair, checked that all dirvers on my PC are updated (yes, ALL of them), runing in half a dozen compatability modes. nothing worked.
  8. Hi Eric, Any chance that, since you adjust times for Dailyight savings in the US, you can also do that for Europe? aka NOT using GMT but the savings version which pretty much every country in the eu actually uses? Would be awesome
  9. And apparently it is having problems again. Not getting kicked out so far now, but massive alg spieks for many peopel (up to 40secs so far)
  10. Apparnetly the Darth malgus server is throwing a fit again, me and most of my guild just get kicked off the server, and it took ages to lgo back in
  11. First off, I totaly agrre that TotC is totaly overblown in difficulty. It's nice and fun for a premade group, but for pugs it's a nightmare. And while I mostly got through it okay, it is totaly unporportional to msot other vet fp's, and if you have them in the same category as all the other vet fp's that going to create hughe problems. I asked around in the guild, and on fleet, and of more than 40 runs people told me about 6! were completely sucessfull. sure, there#s more complaints when something doesn#t work than when it does, but not this much. On the other hand, I don#t think gear requirements are the way to go with this. I think we need one of 3 things: 1) more similar vet fp difficulty. drop the extreme difficulty ones, and up the difficulty in the to easy ones. 2) categorize them, maybe instead of solo and story as both basically singeplayer, make it solo, then story as the normal difficulty tactical fp's, vet for the higher difficulty tacticals and master for, well, what is master now. 3) get rid of the tactical ********. You finally managed to implement an obvious incentive for tanking/healing with role-in-need, and if that is present for leveling as well, and for somewhat easier content, there#s absolutely no reason at all to keep the tactical around. It was a bad idea from the start, and it has not worked out well since then, with the quality of people dropping constanly even in Master mode, because folks have nowehre to learn proper group mechanics any more.
  12. Hm, aside of the fact that I feel they either simply overtuned the amount of damage, or overtuned the amoutn of mechanic interaction. The first is just annoying ,as the numbers game is easy enought for BW to run. The second is a somewhat fickly design choice imo, with e.g. the second tython boss that calls his robots tons of times during a single fight, even though he is fairly tnaky himself. And there's plenty other examples out there were Boss health/amoutn of mechanics just doesn#t really add up. I think the second one is a main problem. Stuff like LI and such offered rewards for following the tactics as well as punishments for doing them good. it wasn't just a case of 'click the console for the sav-rip and he comes back down after he finishes his first 10 second phase.' or something liek that, it was a 'the faster the team get#s to all 3 and get#s them channeled, the faster the bos sis back down dealing more manageable damage. We need mechanics that don#t just punish but lalso reward again, which would also help with gear gaps as you oculd get mroe otu of palyer skill from them. Though, as usual in these discussions, My main point is fairly simple: The players nowadays are frigging useless. Slow down leveling (especialy for newbies) by 50-75%, and remove the tactical ******** from vet fp's. If folks want to run an fp without a tank/healer they can simply run SM's now. But it as someone who has done fp's massively ever since 2.0, I got to say the randoms you get in HM/MM now oftentimes don#t even know the basics about the role split, simple stuff like that dps are NOT supposed to attack first and all such things. Sure, those existed in the past as well, but nowadays it's hard to do a single pug without premades in it that doesn't have such a problem (TRE, Imp side). Back in the 'good' old days full role-dependent Leveling fp's made sure a lot of the people had time to learn at least what their role in general is supposed to do in flashpoints, which greatly improved the quality of randoms for MM at least in the way that they knew what they were getting into. (And just in case anyone mentions the 'but there wer elong que times for dps' thing, BW simply needs to put some sort of incentive on fp's for the roles required, and peopel will paly it. many people that actually do try otu tanking/healing a bit in gorup content do stick with it in my experience, but mroe than half the palyers i talk to never even tried it i nthe first place nowadays because why shoudl they?)
  13. I partly agree with the bracketing idea, though what could help more (both with vets and fp#s in general9 is to bring back the trintiy requirement. basically take out that stupid role-neutral crap that does not work all that well anyways, and incentivise playing whatever role is needed at the moment. Planety of peopel I meet over the years never tried otu tnaking or healing, but many who do stuck to it because they found it wasn#t all that bad after all. Just give them an incentive and they'll get to it and maybe find they have fun. But there are problems that do come up. for example some fp#s like False Emperor, where sub-level 18 do not have an interrupt (or similar cases where itnerrupts are requrie dby the mechanics), or cases where bosses do hard focuses when they don#t have any deff-cd's yet and so on. Sure, there are not many cases, and decent palyers of high level can usualy compensate, but What about a gorup of purely level 10-20 or so? that can and does happen. On Umbara: come on, the seocnd you have a healer that entire fp is a cakewalk, no matter the level, if players have brains. From the coupel of runs i did so far (hate the train part shaking, but got to get them damn stornghold keys) it ranks mid-ish in the difficulty at best.
