  1. If I had to guess, Senya seems likely to doubt you. She knows what Arcann's capable of and has no proof that you can channel the emperor successfully (especially if you do it as a dark sider. You get screwed up for 2 days).
  2. I agree with this. I just finished my second play through. The only real big change between the two (light vs dark) was that Vik died and I choked the engineer. I still ended up injured horribly fighting Arcann, I still lost HK, people still died on the Gravestone despite a warning. All around, I'm very unimpressed with this on rails, VERY linear story.
  3. There are several things about Fallen Empire I didn't like but by the time I got to Chapter 9, I was pretty well sold. They hooked me. Then I got into the Alliance part and went silent. Deal breaker. Age of Conan pulled this crap when you finished the well done intro and entered a world where all you could hear was a cough. Not even ambient dialogue or conversations. The fact you have to sub to play this lends to the idea they're making their money again on the people willing to do it but if this is the future, they aren't doing themselves any favors. Newer MMOs with better mechanics are out there vying for attention.
  4. If it weren't a turn-shoot slug fest, I would have no problems with it. But as it is and the balance is funky right now, I'll give it some time. It is in early release. That doesn't mean it's finished. Getting grumpy about it is ridiculous. I admit, I was really annoyed last night but meh. They'll change it a lot in the next couple weeks and either people will love it, hate it or just ignore it.
  5. The folks on here who love this expansion, good for you. Regardless if someone's used to other controls, can't get the hang of this one or whatever excuse they have for not liking it, none of those things negate their dislike. If they had expectations that weren't met, they're going to be pissed. I personally find the turn fights to be ridiculous. Even when I've gotten a kill it's not that satisfying. I had to load him up with so many blaster shots, it was ridiculous. If the regular game made every mob this difficult to kill, I'd be gone. Slug fests are not 'exciting'. They are a measure of patience rather than skill. Who will focus long enough to put the 400 rounds into the opponent? I don't think people should go down as easily as a TIE fighter in the movies because that would be just as stupid. However, the balance needs dramatic improvement. Fights need to be faster paced. There needs to be a better indication of when and from what direction you've been hit. However, there is one thing that I have had to remember. This is early release. I don't believe that they're done or ready. This is like playing on the test server IMO. They might be hoping to get a lot more balance out of these matches through subscriber play. I would like to believe that just so I don't feel that they were throwing something unfinished to us. If it's just the same with the complaints in a month, I'd be very surprised.
  6. I have been playing this game since the very beginning. I have only one character left to finish every story in the game. Having said that, I was so excited about Galactic Starfighter, I literally counted the days and saved my cartel points for buying stuff for it. Now that it's here, I'm so underwhelmed, I sincerely question anyone that is enjoying it. The shields are so bad *** in this game, Luke could've taken the Death Star by himself if he would've been so equipped. Everyone starts so far apart that afterburners have to be engaged until you're out of engine power just to get within sight of other players. Then, there's the spinning...Dog fights are not intense, they are boring slug fests that require patience, not skill. Overall, this is the worst thing I've seen done to a game in a long time. It's unbalanced, simplistic and poorly executed. It's not enough that I would cancel my account but like a previous poster said, if I had paid for this, I would've felt totally robbed.
  7. I could see this being good for PvP. The healing will be a nice boost, especially when you get mobbed. I went a slightly different route by maxing out Vigilence and putting points into Defense. I've been able to tear through people pretty fast. I'd recommend giving it a try, maybe buy the perk that lets you respec whenever you want. Run a few matches and point out how it did.
  8. I have had an interesting experience with my guardian. I made a new Jedi Knight to be a guardian during the last Double XP weekend. When I got off of Tython at level 13, I hit some PvP for the daily and ended up going through ten rounds. I found myself to be pretty useful and hard to kill. After that, I didn't touch PvP until last night at level 49. I was trying to push through to 50 and I was really devastating. I went with the damage tree and had a blast. Top 3 in each match for kills and objectives. This is definitely a fun class to get into Warzones with. If I could just come to terms with all the stunning, I'd probably have a little less gray hair.
  9. I began with two different servers. On one server, I ended up with a 50th level Jedi, a 34th level trooper and a 32nd level Smuggler. Now, I've got my imps and pubs on the same server and I haven't regretted that decision. The legacy perks have been nice and knowing that whatever character you're building is going toward that one goal is cool. That said, I'm on Bergeron Colony and it's pretty awesome. Lots of good people there!
  10. I've done some searching on the forums for good information about gearing up at level 50 now with 2.0. I'm not sure that it's as important as I'm making it. Prior to 2.0, they were giving out a full set of 126 rating gear. If they're still doing that, I didn't find it. My thought is that my 49th level gear is probably sufficient to plow on toward 55th level. So I am posing a couple of questions here: 1) Should I spend some time gearing up or just head to Makeb? 2) Are Flashpoints viable at 50th level or should one just wait until 55 and go for the new equipment that comes with it?
  11. I'm giving Star Wars one more month mostly becaues I didn't cancel in time to avoid a billing cycle. I did enjoy the experience for the most part but the frustrating things have really gotten on my nerves. One of my primary gripes is that I've made several characters because I was curious about how their stories went. I went through the Republic side with a jedi until I unlocked the legacy then started up a smuggler. The class missions were awesome. Redoing all the same missions my Jedi just did...still kinda cool from a slightly different perspective but play wise, got old quick. Because I soloed and didn't do any heroic missions with the second character, I was two levels behind where my jedi was when I went through. This made the game increasingly harder. Now, it wasn't just redundant with those missions I'd already done but it was getting to the point that skin of the teeth fights or flat out deaths were the norm. Not as much fun. I did some PvP to level up, some space missions...the latter get old very fast. It would be a little different if you could stop the mission when you had all the objectives done but having to rail through another 2 or 3 minutes adds up pretty fast. The PvP, I swear, gives less XP than it did. My overall opinion is that this game was an amazingly awesome experience for 3 months. After that, it's time to move on.
  12. MMOs have notoriously experienced 'class tweaking'. World of Warcraft is a spectacular example of it. It got so frequent that at one point, month to month your character might be different enough that you'd have to respec in order to continue to play and in some cases, there was no way around the gimping they laid out. Some characters were rendered unplayable while they heightened the abilities of others. This post spawns from the IGN article about 1.2 coming out. There's even a paragraph where they mention a 'nerf to bounty hunters'. Quoting the Bioware folks: "Some players will be excited, some might not. That's always the case when there's tweaks to classes." My suggestion to MMOs is simple: instead of tweaking down characters that people are content with, make the ones that people are struggling with cooler. Bring them UP to speed, don't try to average it out. Using the database and running numbers is not going to make a fair spread across the board. Learn from the mistakes of WoW and their incessant medling. Changing characters that are working is beyond frustrating. In my opinion, those characters should be the model of what works and the ones that are gimping behind need the boost to be fixed. I don't think that players should be forced to accept a game company's need to tweak things constantly. Provide new content, boost up characters that are lagging behind, and keep the servers running smoothly. Keep your fingers out of the stuff that works and focus on what doesn't. Make the game fun for everyone, not just every few months more fun for a select group and less for others. That would be different and successful.
  13. Lots of people here compare changing your advanced class to WoW in a pretty unfair way. Suggesting this request is the same as moving from Warlock to Mage is absurd. These characters share a common tree for one. It has no bearing on the storyline at all what class you have. There's literally nothing that it would affect. You'd have to change out some gear and learn a moderately different play style but, as is the case for me, you'd actually still be playing that character. The Jedi Sentinel was a struggle to 30 and I just thought that was the challenge level. Until I played a Sith Juggernaut and found myself more comfortable and confident that I wouldn't be sucking down med packs like skittles. If I could change my sentinel to a guardian, I would right now. I don't want to go through another 30 levels of the same stuff I just experienced. This could be a great money sink for players--make it cost 100,000 credits or whatever. I can see the benefit to them of not doing it because then the truly desperate will make another character to get through the levels. I'd rather just spend the cash and switch over. I would also think that if pure DPS classes weren't so brutally gimped solo, people wouldn't care as much about the ability to swap their advanced class. I was under the incorrect notion that like most MMOs, DPS was a better choice for soloing. Tanks usually take forever to kill anything. When I sent them the feedback email they asked for, this request figured prominently in my message.
  14. The game's still young and such things could be implemented later. I'm way into vanity items so I'm looking forward to more customization. I don't count them out quite yet
