  1. Hey, was curious about min/maxing for a Marauder (PVP side) I'd give you a solid spec that I use, but I change quite frequently. I leveled with Carnage, was Carnage up until 3.0 then I began to try different specs. Still haven't found one that I 100% love, but regardless, maybe I'll just stay with Carnage after min/maxing If someone doesn't want to give me a basic synopsis of what to do, could someone link me to a thread for min/max PVP specs? I saw the PVE sticky Thanks
  2. Alright thanks, I'll be sure to try that out. As for the stats, I plan to augment everything when I'm full Conqueror, planning to do Strength. I know I'll be mix matching between Weaponmaster and Challenger sets to Min-Max the Power/Surge and decrease the crit rating. Just a matter of time
  3. So this is the typical Carnage spec I've been running for a minute in preparation for Smash to be nerfed or sized down. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#100bcZRGrRRrRMrIoZc.3 I'm not full Conqueror yet, but here's a basic run down of stats: STR: 2191 End: 2283 Expertise: 2018 Power: 562 Surge: 508 Crit Rating: 219 Missing the head, gloves, belt, and pants for the full set and the suits currently not augmented. I'm looking more so for an opinion on the skill tree and any offers/ideas that I can try otherwise would be appreciated Thanks!
  4. Ive just run a few WZs (Level 31) and have gotten, roughly per match, 45-60k protection depending on the game mode. (60k highest on Civil War, non stop fighting action in the center.) I LOVE the tanking spec, though tell me what you guys think of this...Keep in mind, I didn't read -all- suggestions -Add a ST skill to increase the damage reduction and/or duration of our Shields (current is 25% Reduc iirc) -Longer duration of Oil Slick/Shorter CD and change to reduced damage instead of reduced Accuracy (stacks with our current damage reduction?) -Increase the duration or the potency of our Aggro stealing darts (In PVP, its our protect) Something along those lines (just one of them, not all) would have sufficed. It's not that we're totally at a loss in PVP, just as far as tanking, each tank class has that ONE thing that makes them that tank. Shieldtech, other than having a high shield chance/absorb, for me, doesn't have that one ability or an "osht" button like a Tanksin, Jugg, etc..have. Could be different at 50, we could roll face and I not even know. But I do farely well pre50, but if it's different, then I'll stand corrected lol
  5. I miss SWG days. Before I switched to Officer near the end, I primarily played BH...Carbines when it was popular to be Rifles, Rifles when it was popular to be Carbines...I miss the variety of it. Only issue I foresee is....What about the Rep side? Unless the Troopers would somehow be able to access Bounty Hunting as well?
  6. Ah, I've only gotten my Op to level 20, if I remember right. I felt like the healing wasn't on par with Sorcerer healing (which I have a Sorc healer already), which is why I created the Op in the first place. Since now I want to roll an agent strictly for damage, I rolled him Sniper. If the Smuggler class is the exact mirror...Maybe I would try Scoundrel, to give it another chance.
  7. Most of my characters are Sith, and the highest Republic class I have is only level 16. I keep hearing from friends, though, that the Smuggler storyline is amazing. So! To give it a try, I made a toon. I'm dreading the decision to make at level 10, as with my Agent, I made an Operative, then hated it, then deleted and tried again. Is the damage free for Smuggler similar to Agent's Sniper? Is the healing tree better than the Ops? Is this a class where it's main advantages aren't reached until around level 30 or so? I'm still on the fence for which AC I'd like, so, any advice is appreciated.
  8. I never understood the point of taking it either. I never have a problem with activating Predation within fights, especially in PVP
  9. Just hit 40 on my Carnage Marauder. Now it's time to seriously bunker down and start preparing for 50. Even though I'm currently a Carnage at 40, I understand that the PVP realm will be totally different when I hit 50. I'm absolutely used to Carnage and only tried Anni when I was around level 20. Correct me if I'm wrong, but... Carnage: -Stronger Burst/Upfront Damage -Less mobile (ravage is a stand still ability) Annihilation: -DoT based -Small HoT return from DoT -Mobile As for actual stats, I was wondering, if between the two specs, I can get the same stats. For example, if I'm stacking Crit, Power, Surge on my Carnage, will it be the same for Annihilation if I decided to switch and give it a try, or would I have to gut my gear and redo them? I'm not so worried about actual PVP specs, since I can tinker with that when I'm 50. My final question....This last stretch of leveling (40-50) is it easier to do as Annihilation? I find myself finishing each mob with under half health (just got Broonmark, so using him now, I survive more but he dies often.) I know I have some difficult fights ahead of me, just curious if Anni made it any less painful. Thanks in advance.
  10. Awesome vid. Love the music choice, too. I'm leveling a Darkness Assassin right now, so this is a little motivation to keep it going.
  11. I find, personally, Carnage to be easier to level with and easier to learn/get the hang of Marauder controls in PVP. When you're more advanced or feel as though you can handle more difficult combat rotations, switch to Annihilation. Coming from a Carnage Marauder, an Annihilation Marauder WILL kill me, eventually. They focus more on DoTs. Again, Anni you have DoT crits that give you HoTs. A decent portion of your damage focuses around your DoTs, which in turn gives you health, so that little boost of more survivability. Carnage will give you a more straight forward approach. You still have your DoTs, though the crits won't return you with a HoT and it's a more straight forward DPS approach.
  12. Trust me, for PVE, you'll be MORE than fine with just using Quinn. When you get Jaessa, you can decide to switch and STILL be perfectly okay. You're killing things so fast, Quinn just keeps you above half health. Only time you'll need to give an effort is when you take on 2 elite mobs at the same time. And even then, not that much of an effort. The tricky part is your combat rotation in PVP, especially when you're NOT 50, since every few levels you're incorporating a new attack here and there. Not to mention various enemies and various ways to either avoid them, or kill them. Overall, chose Marauder, especially if you have a Guardian.
  13. Mine, level 32 just arriving on Taris. http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/5958/screenshot2012050419222.jpghttp://
  14. I've played Juggernaut until about 33 then switched over to Marauder (who's now 32) Truly depends on your playstyle. I loved Juggernaut. Pre 1.2, I've taken in as high as 11 medals with over 70k protection. If you're feel is more defensive and group support, I'd suggest Juggernaut. If you enjoy pommeling through bosses and other players alike, I suggest Marauder. For Marauder, I've switched back and forth between Carnage and Annihilation. I'm Carnage now, since it's simply easier to level with (Kill things faster with more attacks, less DoTs.) While Annihilation has the DoT that's also a HoT to yourself. Eventually, I'll try both specs at 50 and see which I like more, but as for right now and leveling, Carnage for me.
