  1. Thank you all for the input. I am not asking for anything to change. I have been in the MMO market since eq launch day. I know that what we play is what Bioware wants to give us. I am just offering some feedback so that there is reference for their choices in game design. I really do like large aspects of the game and love certain things (i love all the people flying aorund in pvp and how position really matters) but I probably wont be around long as I have almost every class leveld through the fun first 30 lvls. Im not whining... just giving feedback. thanks for listening tbn
  2. Appreciate the feedback. I can honestly say it has revealed a lot to me about who i am as a person. I play games for the gratification of small attainable goals and without them... im left unsatisfied. thanks tbn
  3. Dear BW, First off, I want to say that I am loving swtor and I think you have done an excellent job. I took a shot on the FTP version back in January and have been a subscriber since a couple weeks in. Thanks for your hard work and vision, you have made a great game. I did want to give some input, not because i think you will change anything but just so you have some feedback. Bolster: I am not going to debate how bolster works as thats been done to death, but I would like to talk about the idea. I think in many ways it works well as an idea. I love my short queue times and the fact that I am always relevant. Bolster has a couple large drawbacks IMO though. I dont like the fact that I basically see little to no growth in pvp. I dont see much larger damage or healing as I level. I know this is a design, but it takes away the drive to actually level. I get about 35 levels in and I lose the desire to level the next 20 because Ive been lvl 55 for the last 25 levels in pvp (which is why I play this game... pve is just there to fill in the spots between WZs and provide companions for gathering) Bolster also takes away the drive to get equipment which is another major component of RPGs. Right now I dont have any ingame goals. I think for the aboive issues WoW had a better solution than bolster. Unbolstered 10 lvl "weight classes" and xserver pvp pools really gave the feeling of progression without sacrificing the sense of usefulness and the queues werent nearly as good as swtor, but they werent terrible either. The other issue I have noticed, which may be associated witht he above or may just be the nature of the game, is that I feel like PvP changes radically now when you hit the lvl 30-54 bracket. Sub 30 I find the game fun and relatively balanced. Great players lead the scoreboards, healing matters, and games actually evolve and change leads often. Post 30, tthe game changes a lot. Games tend to become either healer heavy wars of attrition (which can be fun, but usually are just frustrating) or they are one sided beat downs where you spend the game ccd or dead. I am not sure why this happens so regularly at this lvl, but it does. I prefer lowbie pvp a lot more. Thanks for reading, and if anyone has any input I would love to hear it! TBN
  4. This is a terrible idea. It is both unfair and misleading.
  5. So I presently do not use augments at all... so I dont get the double bolster, but I have a very basic way to clarify why no one should be banned for it. Silence is acceptance. Bioware refuses to make a statement or even fix it. Although I can see the PoV that this is an exploit, there is nothing from the powers that be that have attempted to address it to the masses. What say ye, Bioware? is this broken, are you gonna fix it, and are we exploiting the game? TBN
  6. how does a Scoundrel get them out of cover?
  7. I know this is speculative... but who is gonna be their counter? tbn
  8. I have a 28 guardian... and the only thing i dont like about him is that everything is always on cd and there are a lot of times where im just usning the basic attack... does this change later? thanks tbn
  9. So I am a lowbie Cybernetics crafter and too slicing based on a suggestion from a guide. So far I have found no use for the sliced tech, 1 useful mission schematic, and the lockboxes are netting me less than 20 credits a run. DId i choose wrong? Do I sell the sliced tech on the GTN or does it actually work for Cyber? Do lock boxes pay off better later? Should I have taken UT? I feel like slicing isnt actually helping as I am having to buy ingredients to make my cyber recipes. thanks for any input tbn
  10. I havent seen this come up recently, but whats skills provide the most covetted items. TBN
  11. Thanks! Oddly those are the only 2 classes I havent tried. tbn
  12. i think my problem is i have played too many mmos and I am more interested in the system than the game (the driving force of my altitis) I have played almost every iteration of every build of almost every modern MMO. I would say I gravitate towards classes that perform well in pvp... and I like mobility. So far... ive played most classes to 20 something and just cant get hooked. any input would be great. TBN
  13. Ok... so I am almost 2 months into this game and I cant find a class I want to stick with. Anyone else had this issue and found a solution? TBN
  14. thanks guys! I appreciate it! keep the info coming!
  15. So I have been playing this game for 6 weeks and have like 7 characters to lvl 20ish. I have always struggled with Altitis but I think I have a bigger issue. Im really struggling with the feel vs usefulness of classes in the 20ish range. The classes I like the feel of and want to lvl up seem to be late bloomers (espicially in pvp which is what I like most) and the ones that are ok at lower lvls... just dont interest me. So I have decided to just play a Scoundrel (i like Slingers too... but the cover mechanic I find clunky). I will probably ltry both DPS and heal builds but would like any suggestions or help in getting through to the higher lvls when I think this class probably shines most. If you could offer levling builds (and even talent progressions would be awesome!) or any tricks to lvling fast that would be great. I probably will PvP through out, but when will things start to click with scoundrel? Any good video to teach me? Honestly anything would be helpful! thanks for your time TBN
