Hmm. Interesting reading there. The time management aspect is interesting. I work to keep my entergy above 80% at all times. It looks like there might be some better ways to use energy for short bursts and then let it regen during a long cast like Orbital Strike. I'd like to see a YouTube video of an Operative fighting an Operation Dummy and getting 1200 plus, with a voice over of what they are doing and how they are doing it. In the mean time, I'll see if I can figure out how to get 1K+ DPS reliably

I started out trying to get all of my characters to be proficient in various professions. I have 3 level 50s and I find it far easier to have my new alts simple gather mats and sell them on the GTN for cash and buy what I need. It takes me way too long to create purple level items for my new toons. Its faster in general to buy what I need. However, with the recent downturn in population on my server (Lord Praven) I really have a hard time finding useful gear for my little alts, which forces me back to trying to make gear. So I can see both sides of this, and I like neither.

I've been using a DPS meter to try and help increase my DPS in raids. I wear mostly Rakata gear with the remainder being Columni and I can get to about 850 DPS relaibly. After reading some info on stats, I realized my Accuracy was WAY too high at 114 so I swapped out the accuracy gear for gear that was more oriented to Critical, Surge and Power. Changing about 5 pieces sent my DPS from 850 to 950 reliably for a 3 minute fight. The downside is that 950 isn't that good overall. I'm supposed to be a DPS class (or so I thought) since I took the Concealment tree. However, while backstab and hidden strike do good damage, they are crap from a sustained DPS point of view (hard to stay behind alot of mobs, especially if your tank likes to jump around alot). My guildmates that are Marauders or DPS sorcerors are doing 1250 - 1300 DPS. I wanted to compare notes with other operatives to see what DPS you guys are generating. Is my 950 low, high or average? This is a gear-dependant game so I know it makes a difference. Please include that info if you have some data to share.

I does take a little work to figure out your rotations, but after that you really dont even need to watch the energy bar much at all. It does add a dimension to the game and if at the end of a fight you decide to burn all of your energy, at least you have that option. As was mentioned earlier, the BH is the same, but inverted. I have a 50 Op and a 50 BH and I find that the energy management skills from the Op apply directly to the BH.

I think those are the only planets atm.

A particularly unhelpful response and 10 seconds wasted of my life that I'll never recover Glad to hear about the AoE, I didn't realize that what was happening. I'm a DPS spec'd Op and at 33 she was reliably kicking my butt, no matter which companion I brought. I just hit 34 and up'd my weapon and my companion's weapon. Hopefully that will make a difference.
