  1. Why back in my day we had to hand crank our computers just to get them to start and 'online' was what we said the birds were doing sitting out on the telephone wires. *curses young people under breath*
  2. Just want to thank Gabe and the rest of the Mythic, I mean Bioware team for a flawless pvp patch. You were able to do in TOR exactly what you did in WAR and I will never forget what a resounding success it turned out to be! You guys are the best pvp developers in the history of MMO's and TOR will surely be counted among the finest pvp games ever developed. P.S. Go **** yourselves.
  3. This entire post is so full of bull **** it isn't even funny. It sounds to me like you got ganked on Ilum and decided to come and rage about it which makes you the worst kind of player, let alone pvper in MMO's today. My suggestion is to either uninstall the game or learn how your class and the other classes work. Naaah, it's just easier to come here and cry about things right? Want your binkie?
  4. It always makes me laugh when someone cries about TM spamming. Honestly, why does anyone care what dps rotation their opponent uses? LOL Really, if someone is such a noob for using it then it should be easy to interrupt and kill them, which should make people happy they are a TM spammer. The real problem is the terrible players who complain about it because they aren't good enough to overcome it.
  5. Maybe from your perspective, but actually everything he lists in his rant are current issues. The level of 'annoyance' these things bring differs depending on the person. I can say the issue of trying to pvp on Corellia is especially frustrating, followed very closely for me by the skills not working or the animations hitching. This is still an issue for me to the point I can't stand to pvp anymore because of it.
  6. This is the answer. You can take all of the other classes/specs mentioned and they don't even come close to how bad these 2 are in pvp. I say this having both classes at 50 and having tried both specs, and they are just so bad it's hard to imagine they got no real love in 1.2. I would follow this up with concealment operatives and their smuggler mirror, especially post 1.2.
  7. Either I'm misreading the portion you quoted or you are, I'm honestly not sure which. "Solo and group queued players might be pulled together after a while if needed to launch a match. If a match cannot be made for extended periods of time, then Normal and Rank queued players (except those who queued as a group of five or more) might be pulled together to launch a ‘mixed’ match". The way I read this is if you have a group of 5 or more players that queues up for a rated WZ you will not be placed in a mixed match of any kind. That includes groups of 7 or 8 people. So if your group of 8 is waiting on a group rated WZ you won't be placed in a mixed match. Now, if you have a group of 4 or less that's waiting then you can be placed in a mixed match. That's how I'm reading it, not sure if my understanding is off though.
  8. Well, the only real solution to the queue wait is going to be cross sever queues which is hopefully something that will be coming right after patch 1.2, or an increase in the player population for both factions.
  9. Well, nothing really different about this system than the one we currently have. Right now the max group size for a pre-made is 4 people. A group of 4 can group up and stomp through Pugs in order to earn the best pvp rewards under the current mechanics. This information doesn't change that fact at all. You can't get paired up if you queue in a group of 5 or more. Thus, never a time a full pre-made will get paired up against a group of players looking for normal WZ's. No real change here from the current system.
  10. Not sure exactly what sort of "documentation" you're looking for but the description given on this website for how resolve is intended to work in direct answer to a community asked question can be found here: http://www.swtor.com/news/news-article/20110916 I cut and pasted the direct question and quote for those who may not see it buried in the rest of the article. I'm not saying it's a great system but it works as they describe it. Q: What incentives will there be for players to focus on targets outside of the typical “gank the healer” strategy; and how will factors such as burst damage, crowd control and “PvP tanking” play a role in accomplishing this? – Marsobot A: Winning will be the incentive. Attacking the healer will be the right decision sometimes, but not always. A key contributor in ensuring this is the tanks’ Guard and Taunt abilities. Guard will redirect half of the damage through the Tank’s mitigation and avoidance. A taunted target will deliver less damage to everyone but the tauntee. Players will be able to easily visualize which Tanks are guarding and taunting, who their targets are, and when damage is deflected through clear animations and effects. This adds to the dynamics of a skirmish as players of varying skill levels can easily react to and be on their toes about who the real targets of opportunity are and when. Additionally, Tanks will be recognized and rewarded for how much damage they deflect in this fashion on Warzone scoreboards. We have a fairly large health pool to burst damage potential ratio. This allows for burst damage to be useful when the time is right, while not letting it dictate the outcome of all skirmishes. And as far as crowd control goes, there is ‘Resolve.’ Every time a player is crowd controlled they build up Resolve, which is pictured as a bar over the characters head (below the health bar). Once a player’s Resolve Bar is full it changes colors and starts to decay over time, during this they are immune to crowd control. The visual element helps with PvP accessibility, and tuning the Resolve values allows us to achieve a fun tempo ensuring crowd control as its place but isn’t the end all be all of PvP.
  11. I think the resolve system works as they've described it. I can't say I remember being stunned while the bar was full. I know there are times when I eat a stun that fills my resolve bar and you end being bursted down while being stunned with full resolve. This creates a misunderstanding to players because they see the full resolve bar and think they should have been immune, not realizing that they were killed during the duration of the stun that filled it in the first place. As far as roots/snares bypassing resolve. Well I will say I think that system stinks because if all stuns/roots/snares were affected I think it would require more strategic use of those skills in pvp.
  12. They're posting things like this because they're getting rolled in the 1 - 49 bracket by a 49 operative and don't understand how the game works. Either that or they are an under geared baddie. I shelved my operative after reading the patch notes because I never took the class to be a healer. After discovering that lethality has 0 viability in end game pvp that left me with 1 spec left to play. Now that it's dead, I'm rerolling.
  13. And a ray of light shines through the darkness to drop truth on the OP's head. No skill was required to acquire the pvp 'rewards' in this game and a fair portion of players acquired it through cheating. If people are as skilled as they claim to be this won't affect them at all. The only people who are upset are going to be the terribads that can't beat equally geared players.
  14. I don't mean to be unkind and maybe you're just giving an example but the stealth classes in this game don't really come into their own until their mid late 30's or even early 40's. You aren't getting knocked down by any operatives that aren't at least in their upper 30's and Assassin's don't get a knockdown until 42 or so. That said, if you're lvl 45 and getting ***** 1 v 1 by a level 15 operative then the problem is with you, not your class.
  15. Lmao what a total lie. At best, with trinkets and adrenals you might be getting hit for 4 to 4.5k by the operative when they stun pop you. Even if you are terrible and they do 2 rotations of this they may have taken 9-10k of your health. As a tank with all your gear and buffs you should have 18k plus or more of health. So you're saying you can't fight back with almost half health after they've shot their wod? I'll just call you terrible.
