  1. Well for all you guys still here, hope ya enjoy the game! I couldn't pretend anymore I will probably still lurk around GD for a little while longer, but otherwise see ya in GW2!!! R.I.P Nyghtprowler 50 Sage R.I.P Tons'O'Fun 50 Guardian
  2. No no no.. There are 2 schools of people. School 1: People that aren't really into gaming or MMO's very deep that saw this game and were like "OMG OMG this is awesome!!!!" And they like it, cry about mods, macros, UI customization etc etc. A lot of these people played KOTOR and moved to this game. From that standpoint sure this game probably rocks. These people are also StarWars fans, in fact I haven't found anyone that thinks the starwars universe a joke, but loves this game mechanics.... The other people out there that fall into this catagory are the "Anti-WoW" gamers that played Lotro and eve and whatever other fail MMO's out there they put their stock into saying "This MMO was way better than WoW" School 2: People that hardcore game, spent the better part of the last decade in wow and 10 years prior to that in other MMO's. People that realize the carrot on a stick model is played out, rushing content to level cap, and farming dailies and instances is a dying genre. WoW will slowly deteriorate, but will outlast this game by far IMO. Gamers like us realize what matters in the MMO community. It's not voice overs, grinding to level caps, farming the same exact instances each week to get gear which allows for advancement to the next farming location, it's not 2 faction servers or crappy PvP models. Those are all things that WoW does already. Rift cloned it, Swtor also cloned the mechanic.... there are tons of no name free mmo's that cloned this as well. Cloning what WoW did to try and jump on the cash bandwagon just won't work this late in the game because the true gamers are already looking for the next generation game to bring us a new style of play. We weren't looking to jump into WoStarWars with crappy options and no customizability. Honestly this game is a WoW clone 100% with a sci-fi environment, minus all the polish of course, that WoW has added for 7 years, and meaningless voice overs. This Genre has been done, and done agian 6 ways to Sunday. It's time for a new genre of MMO - and for me, it is on the way to launch this year. Here is to hoping that game revolutionizes the genre, and puts all these old MMO's to bed.
  3. Because silly! For the Star Wars heads out there this is the next KOTOR for them! Why do you think this game is instanced out the wazoo? To make the KOTOR junkies all feel like they are at home lol.
  4. Trust me - I feel his pain. It's like staring up at the sky and telling you that it is blue.. "see LOOK UP!!! It is BLUE!!!!" You: Hmm.. no it's not... Me: WHAT?! I have PROOF... simply LOOK UP it is blue!!! You: No, not really... Me: Ok you say it isn't blue, where is your proof. What color do you think you see? You: HEY!!! look the grass is green! Me: We are talking about the color of the SKY! You see these sorts of arguments on this forum day and and day out. It is very frustrating to even read them because I feel the need to reply to them all smashing proof down people's throats. The problem is people that are proven wrong, hate to admit it. They would much rather change the subject, comment about grammar or turn it into a flame war.
  5. Most MMO 2box setups are for 1 to play the game and 1 to play the auction house. We wouldn't even do that if we had an app on our phone to check auctions ala WoW... It really doesn't effect other gamers in this genre to 2box IMO. In other game genres however, I frown on 2boxing. *edit* Not to mention if you were serious about the GTN there is NO WAY you could be efficient with this game's travel mechanic *puke*
  6. I did and are you implying that SWTOR is not loosing a lot of players in the first /second month? Check the links posted in this thread and you will see.
  7. Awesome! Starwars caught up to Warhammer!!!!! Oh wait Warhammer failed... hmmm.
  8. Grinding dailies last night with 3 guildies. Total on Ilum = 7 including us @ 8pm central. MASSIVE! MULTIPLAYER!!!!!!!
  9. I will take Rift's totally customizable UI over this ANY day and WoW's interface customization over Rift.
  10. Yes indeed! I'm not tolerating it in hopes it will improve though, I think this style of carrot on a stick MMO is dying. WoW is going through it now and SWTOR walked right into the middle of it. I do not see this game doing well over time. I am simply here tolerating it till the next triple A title launches. (Read- The birth of a new MMO Genre: GW2)
  11. 37 here man, and you are not alone. I was a little more hardcore though hehe I have a laundry list of games in my wake. Yes Yes I am an addict! Anyway! I feel what you feel and I think it stems from the death of a genre. Simple fact - WoW was GROSSLY successful. People saw this and cloned the game, you see it all over the place. Same with SWTOR - it at it's core is a WoW clone. What is the problem with that? Well for me, I spent 7 YEARS already doing all of this and it already feels old in SWTOR. I personally am not a big Star Wars fan to begin with - so the game mechanics were what I was looking for. Like I said I think this is the start of the death of MMO's as we know them. The progression based, grinding to level cap type carrot on a stick MMO's will not cut it with todays gamer. In the end I felt like I might be too old to game anymore, or maybe I was just tired of it... I mean, X hours per day for 20+ years is a lot of gaming. I mean for a lot of my WoW time I was pushing 8 hours a night. I would do it all agian if I had the right game... and I think I found one that, for me, totally revitalized me. I actually WANT to game agian! That game is Guild Wars 2. Coming from an OG gamer to another - Check this game out, watch vids on thier site, go to you tube, check out the Tales of Tyria podcasts. All good stuff. PM me if you want some more info! and Hang in there - It just takes the right game man.
  12. Yup and we wouldn't want to tarnish BW and the Starwars name! I agree his post was good
  13. When log in and try to move or customize your UI and find out you cant, then you try to look at your combat log to see what just happened in a fight, and there ISN'T one! When /macro doesn't bring up a macro screen! When you reach level 50 and a week later there is nothing to do.
