  1. 1 - I know there is a tutorial but it really doesn't accomplish much. I got out of the tutorial completely clueless. Maybe it's just me. 3 - Yes but me I haven't played similar games. Trust me , it's confusing to people who are new to fast paced shooters. 4 - I don't mean auto targeting like that. Maybe I explained myself wrong. What I mean was, If I'm seeing the ship in front of me, I can't really fire on it without switching target cause I won't have a reticule. I'm only saying why fire at a reticule and not directly at a ship. Why targeting so you can attack a ship. I mean it's ok in "land" pvp and pve but it's frustrating in space pvp imo.
  2. I'll just add myself to this list. Even though I know I suck (I was always bad at games that need precision and insane speed such as most FPS's) I will add something's that aren't making GS fun for me despite me trying to like it. 1 - There is really no step by step tutorial to help you with controlling the ship (mainly this). BW just throws you into a mess with huge boulders on your way where you get killled from god knows where without educating you on how to control the ship. Yes I know some will say "well it's better to practice in real scenarios" and I will reply, sorry If I suck at these kind of games, not everyone is good, I'm very good at normal pvp not at this. And it isn't fun to be killed over and over , it's frustrating. 2 - If BW wanted a fast paced all out game keep mmo elements out of it. I read already about it and things like "30% evasion" don't belong in this type of game. **** if I got you locked on with lasers you should always get hit , you shouldn't be able to use a magic ability. To me, fast paced shooters shouldn't implemente this. I can't stress enough the amount of times I got a fast laser locked on someone and somehow I couldn't hit him. 3 - This one might come from me being bad at this but am I the only one who's confused about the HUD? Seriously I can't tell where some ****er has gone if he backspins on me, I look at the HUD and I see ****loads of icons so, no clue where he went. 4 - Again mmo/rpg elements in fast paced action games. Why do I need to tab target to be able to shot properly at a ship? This doesn't belong here IMO. If I can see it and I am in range , game should auto detect I'm able to shot him and auto switch target. Just my ideas though.
  3. @OP Don't waste money if it's exclusively to play SWTOR on ultra. The game is as heavily underoptimized as it was at launch. I will dare say that even if you get the best components you will still be capped by the heavy server lag that always was present. Just my advice.
  4. For me personally its a wee bit too sensitive too. I know and admit I'm a noob at shooters and pretty much anything that requires extreme precision but I lose control of my ship quite easily with a G600. It sometimes just starts spinning like crazy and I also have a hard time realizing which direction I'm going hence why I shouldn't but I avoid sometimes using barrel rolls. Anyway, it's fun but I don't think the expansion packs a punch that will keep people hooked for very long. Its a grind basically.
  5. I haven't played for a while, but if you tell me it's 6 mins now, it would surprise me xD
  6. That's a good idea at core but notice that no mmo I know of ( i didn't play all of them ofc) has implemented it yet for a simple reason. Companies want you to stay subbed for as long as possible or to buy as much crap as you can from the store and that would mean you could farm for everything on your main strongly reducing the longevity and the cash spent on store. That's why I think they don't and they never won't implement it.
  7. The incentive that Wow queues had for tanks and healers didn't make it go any faster past the first week (which was the week people were playing to see what the rewards would be). You also have to realize since there's only one of each (in dungs/fp's) and they are always less as well in operations/raids that tanks and healers normally gear way faster than DD's which usually have to share loot more competitively. So truth is a tank that doesn't have anything to gain from doing FP's other than a headache if he gets a bad pug will never queue for FP's again unless the reward would be very good. Which I will ever doubt it will be even if a wow system was implemented.
  8. No I didn't, I read the whole thread and it was you who started the sarcasm but sure let's cover valid points: 1 - This is obviously a mix that's what I referred to when saying "it's not black and white" as lots of people in the thread are saying it's just because of this or that. Tanks always had shortages in most if not all MMO's and it's mainly due to the fact (from my experience) that most don't want to take on the responsibility of the role. Healers also are traditionally in shortage but not as much as tanks. So basically a mix of some DD's behavior, people playing Tanks arrogance, short queues for tanks and generally community state in mmo's are the cause. 2 - Like I read before I really don't think there's much that can be done as most tanks and healers already do their thing with friends/guildies. Again I would think that the improvement of the community would probably boost it a little but people are arrogant as hell these days in mmo's so no one wants to meld with potential idiots. I'm sure you know what I mean. 3 - You can't queue as a Tank if you're a dps in most other mmo's so your answer is right there. I dunno why they felt that just because you have an AC that can be either a tank or a dps should be able to queue as both. that's an easy check right there. Thanks to you too for continuing to be sarcastic.
  9. either /sarcasm or learn english And I forgot to add one , there's also those tanks that want to cc every ****ign pack of mobs when clearly the group can handle it easily. Those are also annoying. There I'm done.
  10. Let's not be black and white here. It's clear that Tanks and healers are always in shorter suppiles than DPS. That's an issue. It's clear that hast to be addressed not just here but in every mmo. It's also clear that some DD's can't be arsed to respect the tanks so there is also an issue in here. This one is easily solvable. It's also clear that lots of tanks and healers leave queues if they don't get what they want cause they know they can get a fast one after. What's ironic about all this is I'm betting 95% that lots of people complaining abotu this issue were tanks, are geared now and did the same **** before to other DD's. Funny isn't it?
  11. I didn't play DAOC , I did play UO though at start. But since DAOC had answers why don't they make a new mmo?
  12. But have you got any proof or base of study? Look let's stop pretending game designers are ******* who can't understand the concepts and what sells. I'm sure they have entire teams studying the market and hence they know better than us what pleases the majority of players. If most companies went away from massive numbers pvp concepts and very large scale raids they had a reason to do it. And I'm betting it was because of availability and balance of population. Take GW2 for instance where RvR had a considerable success (mentioning later examples). As a player, me personally I don't want to be thrown into a mess that I don't even know what's going on at that precise moment. the objectives were worthless , you had no reason to hold any keep, in fact it was even better to lose it and recapture. Then you also have to take into account that a player doesnt like waiting to do something. I still remember Aion where I couldn't go into any open world pvp area for large time spans cause you would be dead instantly. It's the players who do the balance and game companies can't rely on players to build pvp models. I also miss some things from games in the past but the industry moves on (some look like they haven't learned from past mistakes I gvie you that) and some players just can't seem to let go of the past.
  13. So, who tells you tehre aren't others here that tried several models? I for once don't think this model is correct and Warcraft wasn't correct as well. Neither was War Online or Aion. But I defo don't think most RvR or Open world pvp models are right either. But stop acting like your answer is the only and true one. It isn't . What you like isn't what others like. To me all RvR, open world call it waht you like models are zergfests where individual skill doesn't account for much. That is not the way I like pvp' ing. Me for instance ofc. Until someone comes with a fresh , new and good concept we're stuck with what we have.
  14. No, thanks. I don't want any world pvp in this game, I had it with Ilum to the point I sent a message to BW stating "Guys can't you understand what Ilum is all about, it's ****ed up, close it , now" . I am not entitled to say that but they knew themselves Ilum was crap. And if you're talking world pvp its a *********** zergfest, I left GW2 because of it. There's no individual skill involved ever and most of the times you die or are attacking something you don't even know for sure. That might be taste. Now, to folks who want balance it's because they aren't competitive. Me for instance I switched chars many times cause mechanics and dmg and defense and healing were different across the board. If by balance you mean all classes are roughly equivalent with different effects then I say no. It ruins all the purpose of having different classes and experiences.
