  1. Seems to be a trooper only problem again. Speaking as a PT bounty hunter speeced into Shield-Tech, I never ran accross that problem so far, and i've farmed low level heroic quests for some orange gear, meaning a lot of dodging stuff. edit: just checked our animation, since we're using a single pistol, we just kinda lead back with our left shoulder while holding the pistol level with our right hand, i.e. still pointing it at the enemy to shoot. my best guess is, since you guys are using rifles you take your second hand of the rifle to dodge (in a similar fasion to us) and the animation probably doesn't allow for firing an assault rifle with only one hand...(sounds like driving school: "both hands on the the wheel/gun...at all times !" xD)
  2. ^ pretty much this, it all boils down to prefered playstyle: 1. you can hit the mobs hard and fast, but you'll spend more time standing around reloading or 2. take it slow and steady and need more time for the fight but less time regenerating. i too prefer the second way: you have more fighting on your hands and less standing-around-diddeling-my-gun moments. i guess the time spend is roughly the same, so why not keep most of the time reserved for fighting.
  3. Okay, first off to the Bounty Hunter Ship: well all those points sticking out are all weapon ports as far as i recall. if you look at the cutscene if you leave...dromund kaas for example and the ship moves towards the camera: you've got one of the three main guns mounted under the cockpit, two smaller guns left and rigt bottom corner plus the three engine pods with the top two including the other main guns. this external pod design makes even sense, because when the **** hits the fan and your enginges blow out because of a weapon hit or a system failure you don't risk loosing the whole ship, just one pod. oh and when i first saw the BH ship i instantly thought of this, and liked it: http://www.allbestwallpapers.com/wallpaper/military/image/mi-24_hind_military_aviation_helicopter.jpg old russian gunship FTW ! (okay maybe they overdid the yellow lights on the interior...but thats all i have for a complaint) Le Trooper: well i think "tuna can" was a deliberate design choice in this case. its a military craft and it's most likely going to be stationed on a carrier. so in order to save up space and max out the carriers loading cap, you'd design a "stackable" spacecraft like the thunderclap that can fold up its wings. i mean look at the interior, it looks like someone ripped out 2 decks of a contemporary aircraft carrier, welded them into a hull and spaced it up a bit with scifi tech. (we even got a situation room...the one where M1-4X hangs out) so its not a long shot to guess the design is based off our day-and-age carrier aircrafts. as to why the wings and hull have to be of asymmetrical design...star wars has had some other asymmetrical spacecrafts up to now, so swtor had to have one too...rule of cool i'd guess....
  4. I was too looking for a nice mandalorian-themed armorset and the one i found easiest to get and maintain was the lvl 40 pvp set. all orange parts, sans the belt and bracers it comes in either white-red or my personal favorite: complety golden. red-white: http://www.torhead.com/item/4P0Qz7l/rd-15a-imperial-assault-body-armor#. golden: http://www.torhead.com/item/aXI2muQ/tt-15a-coercion-body-armor#. <- you look like one of those fancy gold plated guns that are all the rage with middle eastern dictators okay its not THE mandalorian design, talking visor T shape here, but it's close enough. also it's the armor design from the cinematic so yeah its fancy and all that.
  5. Yeah Huttball can be a real pain in the rear as a Sniper, no doubt about it. But sometimes i just can't shake the feeling that some of my fellow snipers i see playing take on a "This is SPARTAAAA!"-Attitude as soon as they set up cover. meaning they don't move a single bit. imo you have to play the sniper as a skirmisher in huttball, set up camp get out 3-4 shots (insta snipe ftw!) and then move along with the battelfield situation, set up camp, again 3-4 shots rinse repeat. see it like a FPS, you run over the map and instead of shouldering your gun, you get into cover, look around, assess the situation and shoot or move along. just because we need cover for our heavy hitters, doesn't mean we're immobile. plus, don't wait for the "setting up cover" animation to finish, just shoot already !
  6. Hmmm, don't know what you mean. i just hit nar shadda yesterday and after buing a mount i had a bit of money left over so i decided to hit up the specialty vendor (next to the commendations guy), and i found one of the prettiest armor models so far; it's a grey balistic vest with some asymetric shoulderpads and a small atenna array on the back, all very sleek and techy looking, and it's orange so i'll just keep modding it up to 50. =) and i still have a orange visor from balmorra that fits the color scheme of the armor, yay. though when it comes to pants i tend to agree, they all look like recolored trackpants wit a holster for our magic cutscene blaster. oh, honestly when it comes to the force using classes, i think alle the inquisitors for example look the same, dark/black robe with a hood, "bohooooo i'ma evil, feeeeeear meeeee!" gets old after you've seen your 15th inquisitor looking like the grim reaper. and the warriors all look like darth vader with these respirator masks, no thanks i'll take my tech armor.
  7. that link you provided makes me a very happy late november preorderer (29.11) since the first wave brought us almost to the end of october it looks really reaaaaaally good that we november people get in all today. and hopefully those poor december sods too, show some love people !
  8. hmmm, i'd have to say yes, go for the healing companion. just an assumption on my account, but i think healing will always trump faster kills through a dps companion, since you'd need to regenerate more often; and i don't think an additional tank companion would make any sense if the PC is already a tank. and maybe sometime down the road we'll see a dual spec system so you can switch between tank and dps and fitting companions as a PT to adapt to the situation at hand. i'm happy to go for blizz as a ranged tank as a dps merc, can't beat a jawa wit a RPG-launcher, and i'm dying to see the animation on http://www.torhead.com/ability/cq7dXZv
  9. Once you go Jawa you can't go back... on topic: what do you mean with "can she hold you up while you tank/dps? " ? you mean if she herself can finish a mob or is it about giving enough healing while you pull nonstop mobs ? *scratches head in bewilderment*
  10. Amen to that ! had the same thoughts since they removed the inherent mods on crafted armor + i want a nice orange set and keep modding it along the way.
  11. Rattataki male Merc, with the concept being a blend of deadpool and invader zim, i.e. completly bonkers.
  12. thye're done for today, 4 waves total and 4 more for tomorrow, seeing that they went with about 2-3 week intervals today there is a good chance to cram in all of october and november tomorrow.
  13. The Hoods are attached to the Chestpiece, and if an item has one, you need to disable your helmet because thats blocking the spot so to speak (no gasmask + hood , unless its coded into the chestpiece) having said that i saw at least one twilek during thanksgiving stress test with a hood on and his tailthingies just clipped right through it. looked...well..."bantha podoo" is the word for **** here ?
  14. There is a Trainer available that can grant you a reset for your talent tree for some credits. have to go to him though each time you need a bonk on the noggin though edit: i think i saw him in Drommund Kass, don't know though if there are others on other planets di only get to 16 during Thanksgiving Weekend.
  15. PvP = Server Tech setup: meaning exept the usual safe havens people can kill each other. RP = Server Rule setup: no funny names + someting something idunno never went there.
