  1. I look at the key as an extra insurance. Even if hackers manage to get their hands on the EA/BW password database and manage to decrypt it, your account will still be safe. I also use two factor authentication on other services like Google Mail, etc. Sure, it's an extra barrier, but more for the bad guys than for you. It's the smart thing to do with ANY internet-based service.
  2. The social aspects of this game are seriously lacking compared to the potential. Much has been suggested already to make end-game more interesting, and for a lot of people it's not about making extra credits. When a bunch of commendations is all you're playing for and you want to skip any content that gets in the way of doing that (which most people do at end game) that's no fun. I'd love social activities in cantina's, casino's (extra moneysink!), swoop races (+ betting!), etc. etc. I'm quite surprised they're not capitalizing on this demand, it's not like we're the only ones asking for it or it hasn't been asked a thousand times before. Why can the average online FPS or racing game have more variety in gameplay? How about real bountyhunts (e.g like cops and robbers in racing games)? I also like the idea suggested above about having a real global conflict going on. Then again, they haven't been able to make the current PVP interesting enough to most of us, so expecting them to come up with something much better is probably too much to ask.
  3. Why is it a mistake if people like you keep buying their stuff? Seems like a proper business model to me. They might not be making as much profit per item on average, but could very well be compensated for that by high turnover rates.
  4. For any character, I pick whatever I feel appropriate, I don't use dark or light as a guidance. In the end, that means I let it end up somewhere on either side of the scale, whichever that may be. For IA, I ended up at maxing out the light side.
  5. I had the same issue once on Corellia. Character was stuck and /stuck just put it back in his place. Mounting my speeder also didn't help. Had to resort to legacy transport to spaceship to get out, since I already used QT a couple of minutes earlier. Why won't QT work for you? Can you use the fleet pass?
  6. And make sure you sell the individual packs, not the hypercrate itself. But it's easy credits for sure.
  7. Quite frankly, you can start at any level. Just not complete it. I started it on my Commando as soon as it was available (Level 47). You can do some of the earlier missions and clear some trash and get good XP that way, and possibly some nice greens that are a lot better than what you get on other planets. So I sort of switch back and forth between planets while leveling up (no big story breaker IMO, since the stories are unrelated).
  8. Completion of the FP's is only for weekly if I'm not mistaken, not dailies. That said, queuing for SM is really easy, since it's role neutral, and they take half an hour each or so, so IMO definitely worth doing. Yes, 12 of them.
  9. There is an emote/gesture for thanking: select player you wish to thank by clicking on them and then type /thank. This will make your player say 'thank you' and the receiving party will hear it. Much nicer than whispering or saying IMO.
  10. The ones for which you can buy the schematics for 150 comms at the vendor next to the Crew Skill items vendor on the fleet.
  11. I rarely see this happen at all (and then maybe only once), especially if there's at least one decent player (me) pointing out how it works to the rest of the group. If you're unlucky to queue with people that can't even understand after explaining a couple of times, a kick vote will solve it.
  12. You understand that you can already queue only for the ones you wish by deselecting them, right? As for being able to find a group, how about a queue list, so you can see which FPs/OPs are being queued for, and you can join one that fits your needs. And being able to solo is easily fixed by a 'reverse bolster', e.g. just cap your level and abilities to whatever the flashpoints maximum is.
  13. Nope, happens on PvE server just as often. Plenty of guilds that plan enemy base raids on a regular basis, even on PvE servers. And with the seeker/binocular missions going into enemy territory, it happens even more often these days.
  14. The 150 comms schematics are great, but they're hard/expensive to mass-produce, since they require vials of stabilized Isotope-5 (at least the one I got did, not 100% sure about the others).
  15. When you hover over it and it shows the statistics popup.
