  1. Legacy = NGE The game is done. It will last and continue on until it's free like the others before it. But changes like this are horrible and it's killed the last bit of hope or interest I had in the games future. There is very little difference now between anyone or anything.
  2. I've already shared my thoughts on this in other threads but I don't mind repeating myself, it's a horrible choice. People who are just happy to get more, are delighted. People who actually care about the type of game they are paying to play? Well they aren't as happy about the idea. Overall it's the NGE come to TOR.
  3. No the game has dissapointed me. The continuing issues of delay, the ninja changes, the poor choices (Legacy making everyone a force user) and the lack of any type of real customization, across ANY area of the game, just makes me feel like I'm wasting time and paying for it. That is exactly what I don't want in a game. I want to just have fun and not care. But in here, I find myself fighting the choices being made, the game mechanics and the lack of any real goals in the game that seem to matter. My main class is pretty much useless, Combat Sentinels are kind of a waste in the game, the end game gear isn't interesting, looks horrible. The raids, well anytime you are dealing with RNG's, rage and bosses, why bother? I can't express just how dissapointed I am in the game. I feel let down by Bioware. I'm not a ROLEPLAYER, but I use to be. And I know what a RPG is. This is reaching that level only by the slimiest of margins. It provides NOTHING important to fans of good RP games other then the initial choice of a character. Everything after that makes you a cookie cutout. It's hard for me to imagine how Bioware failed to miss the mark by so much. It seemed a certain that this game would provide so much for gaming fans. But it's really just a pretty shell, with a system that is quirky and flawed and an overall experience that is lackluster and repetitive in ways that games that run on questing should never be, it lacks personal choices that help make your character both unique and interesting to play. There is no escape from mundane choices when you see everyone else around you making the exact same ones. There is a huge difference between balance and uniqueness, and this game seems to be both confusing the issues of each and trying to enforce it's will in both areas. And it's taking it's toll on each. With the giving away of lightsaber crystals and now force powers, I can't help but sense desperation and confusion on the part of Bioware and despite them seeming to be trying with new patches, etc. I think it's time for an extended break.
  4. Everyone is now a Force user. Nobody is different, unique, special, or any of the other things people who play games en-devour to be with their characters. A multi-million dollar RPG based game that lets you play the coveted role of everyone else around you. So stimulating... It's hard to believe this is the same Company that made and published KOTOR and seemed to be so in touch with Gamers. And all that preamble talk about how the man ultimately in charge of this game wanted to provide a true RolePlay experience on the computer. Try again. You've failed. There is nothing fun about being just like everyone else, and this game excels in making you feel like everyone else. This (Legacy system) is disappointing not just because of the problems it causes with the "feel" of Star Wars, it just further chips away at anything that makes you feel at all important. You aren't. And this is just one added effort to make you know it.
  5. The idea that someone is going to be able to buy these legacy levels says so much. And all of it is bad.
  6. Hello, as you can see from my signature I do have a Smuggler. I no longer log in that much so I do not continue to level her. However she is I think two levels higher then what's shown here. Yes the story up to the point I stopped playing was very good. It lost me a bit at times, but overall it's a good story. The mechanics I haven't really enjoyed that much. On any of my characters, they just aren't very friendly feeling. And the issues with the delay and cool-down graphics, didn't help. They in fact are what separated me initially from the game and now I just can't get back into it. Cool-downs, problems with abilities casting when needed, all of these are what wore me down. I find it very hard to believe that someone responsible for creating and maintaining a Star Wars game, could be so dismissive of Han Solo or his impact on the game. A smuggler is one of the most sought after and respected classes that exist in a SW game. Hearing this Dev, if they are being correctly quoted, is mind boggling. It sounds as if they are giving up. I agree it would be interesting to see how many subscribers just quit at being a smuggler and went to another class. No I do not. I don't really play at all anymore. I meant to cancel but missed my chance before being billed. Not sure if I'm staying. I'm doubtful, this doesn't help. If I was to find myself interested again, the smuggler would need to have the ability to heal better. It was a ridiculous struggle to heal and avoid aggro. The mechanics that allow RNG style mobs and bosses to ignore attempts at creating aggro, and just smash the healer can't just be fixed I guess. I was hopeful they were placards until Bioware had a chance to finish them. But I don't see them being corrected. Better healing would help, but at this point I've lost much of the interest I had.
  7. If they really want to fix the issue with imbalance they would take a page from Star Wars and make playing a Dark Side character more meaningful. How? Well supposedly taking the dark side path makes things quicker, but it's effects on the person using it is often detrimental. So, just knock off 10% of the hit points that Dark Side users have. That's right, make the effects of using hate as a driving force, wear down their bodies, just like in the movies, and not just with the addition of a scar on their face. Make the use of Dark Powers, costly. Let them have all the "cool" stuff that some think the Empire side has, let them keep their numbers. Make playing a Dark Side character mean something. Chop off 10% of their total hit points and watch the balance begin. Maybe it will cause some to abandon the Empire side. Couldn't hurt.
  8. But that isn't what you've seen. First I've told you that's not the case. For most reasonable people that is sufficient. I'm in a discussion, that requires my participation. It doesn't mean anything more or less then that. Why are you having such an issue with this point? It's as if you refuse to be wrong and are going to just insist you know my thoughts and feelings better then I do. Don't you think there is something wrong in that? Where does it say this? You've seen the movies right? How many of the most powerful force wielding family (skywalkers) members in the Star Wars Universe have we seen use Force Lightning? None? If we want to be anal about it, only the Emperors family should be born with this latent ability that somehow is just always there for use when required.
  9. I'm so happy to hear that Combat Macros won't be seen anytime soon in the game. However, I don't think all macro's should be judged equally. I hope we will see some shortcuts to using other things, that could benefit from macros or some other mechanic for their use.
  10. How do you know I'm not just bored and have time. Obviously I am paying for the game. Don't you think I would rather be doing that? But no, I'm bored and here. Why would you question me as a person? Are you suggesting I said I don't care because I'm actually so interested I just can't stop discussing it? I suggest you move from the realm of the hypothetical and stick to the poignant issues of the topic. Suggesting I was so overcome with passion over the topic and chose to try to hide it, is just incorrect. Sorry. Anyway.... Yeah Force Lightning is the ultimate force power. I mean what isn't already understood about that? We see it used the first time by the most powerful and most feared force user in the entire Star Wars universe, the Emperor. We never saw Vader use it. Now it's going to be handed out like a birth certificate? Dumb. Unnecessary, harmful to both the feel of the game and it's ability to keep players interested. If I am given everything, I need and want nothing. Trying to excuse the fact that everyone is having their family turned into the Skywalker family overnight is just a poor choice.
  11. I think it becomes dumb when each of them can suddenly use the Force, yes. Being sensitive to the Force, because you are in a highly unique family like the Skywalkers, which isn't a common thing as I understand it, is one thing. But what should be special will suddenly be common place. A founding effect of just being part of a family, ANY family. Really? That sounds really dumb to me. And let's say just for the sake of argument that someone else beats the odds and ends up part of this magically blessed family, he/she will have that odd sensitivity reveal itself by harnessing and directing the most powerful force in the universe into a weapon? Dumb to me. Now every single character is going to be part of a super rare Force powerful family? Dumb.
  12. I really don't care that much. I'll have this discussion for the sake of discussion. This game has lost me already anyway. But we already have this power. Call on the force, or whatever it is, already does that. Why does the "Force" need to be handed out to everyone? It makes no sense. At all. And if it was a power, and it was a small reserve of power, would it result in Force Lightning? I mean we see that first being used by the Emperor, now any schmuck in a bad spot in the game can magically pull that ability out of thin air? Just because? Why is this being done? Is it required? I've played this game this long without it, so I don't see that. The only thing it does is make the game less interesting and all of our already identical characters, more of the same.
  13. Why would you insult me? Why are you so angry you need to be insulting in your answer? Are you incapable of just having a discourse? How could I not know what the NGE was? I was there and playing and paying for the game when it occurred. I don't really understand how you could suggest I don't understand. This isn't rocket science. The NGE was bad for the game, this in my opinion, is equally bad. What's not to understand? They are allowing all classes to use the force, correct? And if you already have a skill that does exactly what this one does, and works the same way, and has equal restrictions, it sounds unnecessary to me. And... If it is determined to be "The Force" being used, despite the mechanics of the new power, it's still someone using the "The Force" And it's dumb. Being able to "Just" Use lightning? Are you serious? That's one of the most visually and psychologically and mechanically, powerful powers of the Force. Certainly of the Force powers we see in the game. Now, you can just whip out Force Lightning when you are in trouble? Why not just label it " Supernatural Intervention"? It's ridiculous. It will completely sap the feel of the Movies that the second trilogies left intact out of the game. Not to mention all of the other issues, such as the still evident ability delay, the lack of interesting end game content and the numerous bugs all of which would be far more constructive ways of spending both the time and money I am sending them.
  14. Wait... Is this for real? Are they actually letting non force users. use the Force? Isn't that the reason for an initial choice? You either want to play with the Force and deal with it's restrictions, or you don't? They have already forced us all into the same cookie cutout. Our level 50 characters are all fairly much the same. Which is one of the weaker points in this game. Now, by allowing all characters to do essentially all things, it makes everyone less important, less special, less individual. Are they REALLY going to do this? This sounds insane to me. I mean, common sense bad? Doesn't anyone else see this as super lazy? This is a huge mistake, equal in my opinion to the NGE. I meant to cancel on the 18th of last month, I was lazy and I did not. However, if this is what is coming, I would have to question my intelligence, if I chose to continue to allow myself to be billed for a game that has given up.
  15. If Raid bosses actually worked, for example if threat worked instead of ridiculous enrage timers that make playing the game a joke, I'd say this was bad. Or if the classes each were important to the fights, if each was balanced to work well together, again I'd say this was an issue. However, being a Combat Sentinel that is nearly useless, considering the ability delay, etc. Considering I'm bored already with dailies and PvP, mostly because of the issues above, and just having reached the saturation point in terms of interest, this is a good thing. It's good to know I will have the chance to get the same things I would have had my class been usable and the content worked correctly enough for me to waste my time on.
