  1. I detest pvp with a passion. That being said, I have great situational awareness (need to have it if you want to be clearing HM and NIM raids), and when running around on my own in these open world events I can easily avoid getting myself flagged... until the large ops groups for WBs and the like. It's not because I pull out my AoEs all of a sudden like a tard, but because my preferred class is Healer. When I'm in an ops frame with 20 people, I'm not scanning the raid and clicking on individual player when everyone is moving around. That would require some sort of mental retardation on a healer's part. I use my ops frame - second I heal someone else who got flagged (which is not marked so I can avoid it), I get flagged, and now I get ganked. This is through no fault of my own or lack of awareness. I don't think that PVP needs to be stripped from PVE-servers. It's would be a coding nightmare, and not fair to the players who enjoy both sides of the coin, but don't have the time to level and gear up two different toons on two different servers. What needs to be removed is Healers getting flagged for healing. Simply code it so that an unflagged healer can not heal a flagged individual and you'll avoid griefing entirely. I agree, however, with the people saying that folks need to develop their situational awareness. If you're so keen on your PvE on your PvE server, this should not be an issue.
  2. I'm bumping this because I think it's important, and I would appreciate a dev response to this.
  3. This boat sailed a LONG time ago, and if they did redistribute crew skills the way some of you are suggesting, there would be a massive uproar. Do we now train again from scratch? What about our hard earned recipes? The top-tier RE require mass manipulation gens to craft, and on my server at least those are running around 500k on the GTN. People have spent MILLIONS of credits crafting. I know I have. If that hard work and time (spent 12 hours farming for something for high tier crafting today) just went up in smoke the dev team would have a serious uproar and I for one would find another game to play and take my sub money elsewhere. Whether it makes sense to you or not, it is the way it is. Think about the repercussions of what you're suggesting before you suggest it.
  4. Wow... leave it for two weeks cause I'm on vacation and it get taken over... alright xD
  5. Just a note to everyone, the new official list can be found here. I took the initiative to make a new one since this one was no longer being updated.
  6. Can some of the Crafters that make the items that I haven't provided links to, to torhead, please make entries on the site to include the stats please? It seems there's some serious gaps there in the 55 year. The Might Hilt to name a rather stand out one. But none of the implants have entries, either. So as much as I've listed your stuff... no one knows what it does from looking at the list.
  7. As someone who didn't get the opportunity to make money off of my Crafting (my guild was new, and by the time we started getting into the stuff that would allow for endgame gear drops, they switched). Crafting *is* time-consuming. Sometimes you get lucky and get a schematic on your first go, but far *more* often you're REing 20, 30, sometimes 40 of these items to get the schematic. 20% chance of new schematic is text on a page, but not what really happens. That's *millions* in credits to learn one armoring, or mod, etc sometimes. Why should I not be able to make a profit afterwards, hmm? I feel that the endgame stuff should still be Craftable, but add a set bonus to Underworld. Reasoning: Earning the components/cash to give a Crafter for one piece takes a good chunk of time. And it's the serious raiders that do this, the ones that want the perfect mod in each place to optimise their output. It still takes months to do this one piece at a time: what I did with my Dread Guard gear (since my team wasn't running the ops where it dropped yet). I worked my butt off to gear up still. Crafters can't make set bonues: meaning you still need to clear the content to gear up. All they've done is shaft the Crafters. MMG = million credits on GTN, The armoring I'd make with it, worth the same. There's no profit in it. And as others have said - why should people pay so much for not-top gear? The answer is that they shouldn't be, but the MMG rarity and cost make it so. You need to find a balance that keeps the casual players happy as well as the hardcore players happy. The casual players are happy with the drops, the hardcore want to optimise. They broke the balance here.
  8. I need your character's name for the list. Also. Torhead has no entries for those implants yet.
  9. I included the 28s for now since the ability to Craft 30s is still low. I'll remove it later. And Andolin is my toon in game. And when I get a chance I'll pull form the other list as well. I just felt that this would be useful to folks, since the other list was as well ^^
  10. As it seems that the old one is no longer being maintained, I've decided that we need a new list for folks. I will do my best to keep this list up to date. Please either private message me, or post below with the new items you wish to add to this list. Names of crafters will be listed as either Republic or Imperial. Followed by the cost the crafter is attaching to their goods. This will operate just like the old list did, but will have the information that we're all wanting to advance our gear. It is assumed that, in every case, the player will provide the mats. Please only post if you can make the purple grade items. I've included the Dread Guard relics here, because in some cases, these are still better in slot than the Arkanian equivalents, and so people will not be getting a real upgrade until they can afford the Underworld variety. Thanks in advance to everyone who posts, and help keep crafting a good way for people to gear up, and a good way for those who work hard at their crafting to make some money back.
  11. I could photoshop that. When I see an Imp do it, I'll believe it.
  12. Just my two cents in this discussion, for what it's worth. I run a fairly new guild over on the Ebon Hawk Server, and we're only just now getting our "first batch" of 50s into the sort of gear that you can begin "progression" runs in. As a Guildmaster, I've been getting excited, as have many of my guildmates about doing this. These new repair costs have, quite frankly, just stopped us in our tracks. We haven't had a year of hardcore raiding at "low" costs to build up a big guildbank and personal bank accounts. Simply put... we just can't afford it. We also have one member who, while a very good player, has a less than optimal computer, and has lag issues. He respectfully bowed out of our raids this week because he didn't want to cost us unnecessary credits. Still didn't mean it wasn't upsetting. I've been running with this guy for 4-5 months, and now, because of this, his ability to progress any further in the game has effectively been halted, and he's not going to be renewing his subscription when it expires next week. As he put it "what's the point?" You essentially have two major types of gamers with subscriptions: the really hard core people who have the time to spend hours and hours on the game every day, and those who play casually, and don't have a problem with $15/month for a little fun. That first group of players is likely also the group that is willing to throw more real money bioware's way to pay for fake money in a game. The second... is likely what makes up the majority of their subscribers, which, less face it, is who bioware is going to care about because they get money from them. A lot of their playerbase is also, likely, students. I'm about to become one again in starting my Masters Degree. I'm not going to have money to give to bioware beyond my subscription. To those people that have simply suggested this, I congratulate you for being in a point in your life where you can afford it. I, however, look at that extra cash as a much-needed pub night with the girls after exams, or a healthy meal instead of ramen cups. So for what will probably turn into one or two nights a week I get to actually play... I want to do the parts of the game that I enjoy - raids. I enjoy the social aspect of this game - getting into mumble with a bunch of my friends, and tossing the breeze while the Writhing Horror impregnates our tanks. My raiding used to fund itself, as well as letting me get to have some other fun on the GTN, I didn't make much money this week in my raids, and we weren't training anyone new to the raids. I've seen some really negative things happening the last few days. I'm a BH/Campaign/DG/fully purple augmented geared Sage Healer on my main, so I was alright pugging a few flashpoints and supporting some folks in tionese gear while they try to gear up because I can heal what the mack truck-hitters want to dish out 98% of the time. I'm ok spending some cash to help a new/first-time 50s learn the ropes. It's not been so long for me since I first hit 50 that I've forgotten how confusing it was, and how suddenly one mistake = a costly bill. I met some good people who beared with me, and gave me some advice on how to get better. This kindness in game has practically disappeared between people who weren't already mates. I, too, have seen people drop from flash points, or vote to kick with reason of "Tionese, we'll wipe" as the reason. This didn't happen before (Outside of LI HM anyway). This new attitude can not be healthy for the game. Where has the camaraderie gone? We're all Star Wars fans, we're all gamers. We all play this game for different reasons: some like pvp, some like raids, some like rp, some like a healthy mix. If bioware adjusts so that more creds drop in a run, I think that this adjusted repair bills can stay, but one of my guilds' main tanks that's geared like I am had a 40K repair bill after a single wipe... that entire op was no longer at all beneficial to them since they no longer needed to farm BH coms, and was in there because we're helping one of our new healers get geared up. Bioware may have shot themselves in the foot with this patch. Some have just argued that you should "just buck up and do what you're supposed to" or "spend more real money" (which I personally believe as the real reason that this "bug" was "fixed"). But I say to you, what's more important? Grinding for credits vs Family Time/study time/work Spending more real money vs Having a healthy meal/social time away form the internet I watched a lot of really smart people flunk out of their undergrad because of WoW addictions because they needed to grind to afford the raid. Game designers need to stop and think about what's really important. I won't pay tens of thousands for a masters course only to flunk out of it. If my raiding can't support itself, I'll probably dump my subscription, and since you can't raid as a F2P... that'll be the end of starwars for me. I guess the moral of my ramble here is "less is more." Bioware, this was rather bad timing - particularly right before a major game update with Rise of the Hutts. Are the few people that will actually give you more money worth the subscribers that will leave?
