  1. I understand what you mean. operatives have been OP beyond reason for 2 years, so I suppose operative players considered the status quo as normal. not being the most OP class for a second is something you all find impossible to comprehend.
  2. actually, he didnt say anywhere he was cheating. binding multiple skills to a button is fine as long as they arent triggered one after another with a single press, and he didnt say they did. the funniest part is that you actually quoted that in the gold post but didnt understand it
  3. waste of space? really? do you think the space is better used when people discuss back and forth about something the devs explicitly said its not and will never be allowed in any way or shape? because to me thats the definition of pointless... btw, "limited" macro? OMG. just because you cant see the potential of something doesnt mean it doesnt exists. I'll give you a hint: clicking a skill that is currently on CD/unavailable does not trigger GCD now, think about that for 5 minutes
  4. exactly. that has always been pretty much the point without the star wars paintjob, this game would have crashed and burned barely 2 months after release. despite its massive budget, it was clearly inferior to pretty much every other triple A game on the market, and its flaws, starting with the engine, following with game mechanics down to gameplay elements, were legion. even now, 2 years later its barely starting to recover from the myriad screwups if it has survived this long its because as you perfectly put it, "Nothing beats StarWars". a clearly mediocre product, its clinging by the fingertips based on brand name association. if SWToR was the exact same game but with a different, unknown IP and setting, we all here would be still nowadays mocking BioWare for "that colossal failure they had 2 years ago, when they blowed $300m on a MMO that closed in less than 6 months" and yet, many people here have been and still are nowadays defending what essentially boils down to be the exact same game....just because "Nothing beats StarWars" there is one thing true: star wars fans certainly deserve a lot better for their staunch loyalty
  5. this discussion will never move forward until people accept (and let sink in their heads) this 3 simple facts: fact 1 macros dont necessarily have to automate sequences of actions to be macros. you can have incredibly useful 1press-1skill macros fact 2 macros as explained in fact1 are currently allowed in SWTOR and you bear no risk of punishment whatsoever for using them fact3 some people are already using them while others not so fortunate cant 13 pages of going in circles discussing if macros are/arent lazy, if you need/dont need to L2P, or how useful is/isnt having a 1-click-autoplay....sigh so guys, let me refocus the discussion to where it matters: macros of a certain fashion exist, are currently allowed by the developers, and people using expensive gadgets are taking full advantage of them, but the game itself doesnt offer an UI to use them for free, so without those gadgets you cant use them. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THAT?
  6. this isnt the first MMO of 99,999999999% of the population, however. most complains are NOT about how bad the game is per se, but how bad it is compared to others people have experienced different things, they know where the bar for quality is set up, and complain accordingly when something falls below that bar. you dont even know there is a bar. thats why your post is nice, but ultimately not adding anything to the ever-lasting discussion of this game's percieved qualities (or lack thereof) analogy: I own a car...say a Ford. it costed me, say, $25k its the only car I've ever driven. to me, its a good car. a great car, even. people diss on the car, but I dont know why, I see nothing wrong with it and then, I learn there are Hondas, BMWs or Audis with much better features, bigger trunk, run faster and with better fuel economy, for the same price.
  7. offnodes, really. thats pretty much it. and what you'll be doing 99% of the time at offnodes is fighting other sins doing the same as you the idea of going where the zerg is and attack the healers is cute...until you find out that the vast majority of healers arent complete idiots, and they stick very close to the main zerg, so a split second after you pop out of stealth you wll be disabled and stunned to death by everyone around them, effectively achieving....nothing at all
  8. the fanboys that said ToR would never go F2P arent reading your post, brah. they probably suicided due to utter embarrasement
  9. except, no that would be one of the definitions of a macro. you can have macros with no logic, no timing, no checkups. they are still macros, tho check my post in page 6 of this thread, where the DEVELOPERS admitted that a macro that lets you press 1 4 times, and each time it would do, in a cycle, skill 1, skill 2, skill 3, skill 4 with each keypress is completly within limits of acceptable. it complies with the "one click one skill", has no logic added to it, and still it would be useful. the currentproblem of the game is that this is ALLOWED by the developers, and some people can take advantage of it (and are doing it) thanks to expensive programmable mouses/keyboards, while others cant because they lack the bucks and the game doesnt have a free ingame option to do the same. some people ARE using macros, and they risk nothing because it is ALLOWED. but other people CANT do the same because its an entirely "paid" feature...paid outside of the game, that is if you cant see how wrong this is, I dont even know how to continue debating with you I said it once, and I will say it again. if they dont want ANY kind of macros, fine by me, but then BAN EVERYONE using a naga/programmable keyboard. if they are fine with certain kind of low-level macros, as they seem to be, then add an ingame option that allows people to do ingame the same without spending 100 bucks on a mouse/keyboard.
  10. in the meantime BW nerfs tankasins, forcing more sins to reroll dps as usual, the playerbase goes in one direction and BW the opposite
  11. then it begs the question, why arent they following that same hard stance on those using third party hardware/ software? its not like they cant single out those using them, I know for certain that for BW its just trivial knowing who is using what peripheral/running what macro/click application along with their game.
  12. sorry but you seem to be in direct contradiction with the devs here http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=6459160#edit6459160 I just dont understand why they allow something but then dont give the proper tools to use it ingame, knowing that people with expensive gadgets can get that functionality (by paying real life money to get it )
  13. following this train of thought, the very existance of gadgets like razer nagas and nostromo gamepads would affect my playstyle. and whats even worse, since they cost real money ( and they arent precisely cheap ) perhaps Im not even getting the option to use them or not. if macros arent allowed, this gadgets should be forbidden for the very same reasons, and then some more
  14. nah, he is a genuine moron kid that cant see further than deathmatching
  15. sometimes not even the greatest tanks can fix stupid
