  1. Depends on the mission, check the objectives. It's usually a combination of fighter ships (flying both at you and past you) and targets on captital ships. In the very first mission (the gray one, if you're around level 18), you actually don't need to shoot 25 fighters - it's the bonus objective - all you really need to do is take out the targets on the big space station. The turrets are around the edges and can destroyed with lasers if you paint them for a few seconds. The hangars are near the turrets, centered on each pylon, and the antennae are at the upper tips of the pylons. They can also be destroyed by lasers if you shoot them long enough, but they're harder targets to hit, so a missile at each might be a good idea. The shield generators are in the center, on top of the station. Use a missile or two on each of them since they are the toughest targets to destroy. Most importantly, don't run into anything - that does more damage than anything else. And don't forget - space bar to do a barrel roll! Happy hunting :]
  2. I failed the first couple times I tried too. You'll sink a couple thousand credits into the tear one upgrades at the vendor, but they're worth it. I like to save my missiles for the capital ship targets (especially shield generators). Enemy fighters are easy to kill if you hold down the left mouse button and quickly paint them. Also, if you're not shooting at something, or your ship is getting pounded on, hit the space bar to roll, it helps evade damage.
  3. I really hope BW treats it like an in-game service that costs just a few credits (like the WoW barbershop, but with a droid), NOT like a meta-game service, like changing servers or changing your name/race/etc.
  4. Just for the record, WoW didn't have this functionality until Wrath of the Lich King. I too am looking forward to this addition, though. I also hope they add more hairstyles, etc.
  5. I don't know if this was posted (didn't see it in search), but I'd like to see my companion with me when I'm riding a taxi. There's an empty seat to my right on in the air speeders, and there's room on the seat behind me on speeder bikes, so it seems logical that my companion would fill that seat (instead of disappearing and reappearing when I reach the destination.) Also, since most personal speeders are too small for two, it would be cool if they duplicated whatever speeder you used and had your companion ride one next to or behind you. And if they ever add live mounts, most of them would probably be big enough for your companion to ride behind you. I'm not sure what they would to with the R7 droid companion, though.
  6. I stand schooled - I didn't realize they switched dev teams - makes sense. Also, to be fair, I'm only going off first impressions, since I've barely started DAII, and I've heard a lot of very polorized love/hate reviews... I was mostly surprised that BW didn't do to DA what they did to ME, which was take a very successful formula, listen to their player's complaints, and then address every one of them in the sequel, making an already epic game that much more epic.
  7. I agree with this too. I was dissapointed when I typed /joke and my character just moved her hands around. I've not been one to normally say "WoW does it, why can't you?", but in this case, I would like very much to see BW implement a more vocal emote system, that includes several random quotes the way WoW's /silly and /flirt work.
  8. GOOD LORD so do I! Normally I only skip dialogue if I've already done the same quest with another character, but when I have to converse with an ugnaught, I can't seem to hit the spacebar fast enough! I also have a personal hang up againsT loud chewing, and it affects me like others are affected by nails on a chalkboard - so that probably has something to do with it.
  9. I really like all the voiceovers I've heard from my own 5 characters and their companions so far (human sith warrior/inquisitor twins, chiss bounty hunter/agent twins, and a miraluka jedi - all female). Some alternate voice choices would have been cool, but doubling or tripling the amount of voice acting would probably take way too much overhead. Perhaps if they just altered pitch and tone and created options that way. My son's sith warrior has a mask that alters her voice - way cool! I vehemently disagree that BW should just drop the voice-overs and go to text - I don't want another non-imersive WoW quest system, and if I wanted to sit and read, I've got plenty of paperbacks that I've neglected to finish... If there are enough players that feel like the OP, though, maybe BW could make it an option, so those who'd rather read their quests (or just hit Accept), could turn the cinematic quest feature off.
  10. No dev team is perfect. I didn't care for DA2 either, but I found ME2 to be an incredible sequel to an already awesome game. Every team has hits and misses. BW has had far more hits than misses, and I feel that this game is one of their biggests hits.
  11. As unbiased as a mother and her ugly baby. For those of you new to this forum, there are some who are brandishing torches and pitchforks and saying that BW is guilty of some sort of crime... While others, with 20/20 vision, find no problem with the game graphics... I'll let you guess which crowd is the happy majority and which crowd is just noisy as all get out. (That said, I did notice that the shadows are pixilated. I frowned about that for about 10 seconds, and then found myself re-enthralled in the game - I do hope they fix that, but I don't think it's worth grabbing a pitchfork over, five weaks into the release)
  12. Do you really think the game has more haters than fans? If so, where's YOUR metric?
  13. I can tell you why I keep griping at the gripers... Their 'sky is falling' threads are cluttering the forums and I want to make sure that both the BW devs, which have done an amazing job, as well as the community of players, knows that the haters are not the majority they think they are. At least BW has somebody sweeping the floor of the some of the ridiculous hate threads shortly after they're posted. Seriously folks, outspoken negative minority perception CAN do damage - if you really want BW to improve the game, please quit spamming delusions of BW's supposed failure!
  14. I'm glad to see that they have some actively clearing the flaming poop from the forums - it makes it a lot easier for the majority who enjoy the game to post constructive ideas and get good tips
