  1. Have just cancelled my subscription. To those who want to say it...don't worry, I'll try not to let the door hit my giant butt on the way out. Anyway, I left the following comments (posted here because they are mostly regarding the giant butt issue): "I bought the game specifically to play a Jedi Knight. I played the Jedi Guardian to class story completion. I really enjoyed the story but felt the Jedi class was in almost every way inferior to any ranged class, it seems that a lot of other folks have notice this as well b/c Jedi guardians are frequently not invited to groups. Despite the balance issue, I would still continue playing for the foreseeable future but for the issue that I spent my entire play time frustrated by visuals: 1) comically giant butt on all characters w/ robes and 2) no ability to toggle hood and no real selection of "hood down" armor for my specific class. A MMORPG requires a significant investment of time and money on the part of the customer and, if someone is going to make that commitment to your product, they should at the very least have their basic expectations met. The lack of response to the obvious visual flaws did not meet my expectations. I have no doubt that class balance will improve with time but I am not willing to pay a monthly fee for a game w/ such obvious visual flaws as the "giant butt" issue. It sounds like a funny issue but it really isn't that petty: It makes the characters look comical and ridiculous, it destroys any immersion in the story, and it's a continuous "in-your-face" insult when a customer sits back and thinks about just how much they are investing in the game and what alternatives they have been giving up while this is ignored."
  2. I get the best results when I ignore the clones and go right at him but I've never got the Emperor to less than half health. Every time I get the Emperor to about half his health I die in one quick hit! This happens even when my health is near full. I got to this fight at LVL 50 with about 50k in credits and now I'm broke from repairs and have to leave and grind to make some money. Is this one hit thing a bug?
  3. Cannot speak for male voice acting but I love the female voice.
  4. I read the spoiler that you can only use T7 so I did the same; have him equipped w/ modable gear, from quest rewards. I'll worry about the mod updates later. T7 is now my craft monkey until I get to the final mission.
  5. I am liking the tone of this thread and I going to re-spec my guardian the same to feel it out for a while. I have a pure vig. spec right now but I find w/ elites I have to frequently switch to the defense stance to have a chance. You spoke about gearing right so I'm wondering what you think about my gear: I'm running w/ mostly endurance favored mods and a shield in the off hand. The exception is that I mix in roughly 25% strength/DPS customized gear. I'm wondering if the little bit of offense I am gaining is causing me to miss out an a disproportionately greater amount of defense.
  6. I only have one character and have been using Synthweaving from the beginning. I am running a DPS Guardian w/ Synthweaving. Synthweaving helped to keep me in great gear through level 20 but since then, I am level 35 now, I feel I am constantly throwing credits away trying in vain to keep up with this. It can't seem to keep my trade skills up to my character level. I'm completely geared out in stuff that I purchased at "auction" or from commendation vendors. Not enjoying my trade skills experience or finding it particularly useful. I suspect Synthweaving can be practical to raise credits (by selling your best products to low level characters) or, if you are an altaholic, to gear Jedi alts but if you are like me and just want to gear yourself with the best of the best self-made armor, it's not worth it.
  7. I don't have as much time to play as I'd like so I've only played Jedi Knight through Act. 1. I'll try to be very general so I don't give too much away: The bad: It's a very predictable story about a gifted force prodigy saving the universe and Act I of the story frequently makes the republic military commanders look incompetent. While you get a feeling of being this elegant light-saber wielding general bad ***, it's hard to find groups for heroic and flashpoint quest as a JK b/c everyone assumes you are a tank and assumes you are sub-par to a trooper....game play things like this sometimes leaves you feeling a little cynical and take you out of the plot when the story builds up your prowess. The good: The story seems to be epic in scope, you feel the sense of urgency behind the class storyline, and you actually feel for your companions. The vibe of the story actually feels like you are in the Star Wars universe. There are some game play mechanics that help you get deeper into the story as well: overall there are a lot of abilities for the guardian class; in some of the light-saber battles with sith I've found I have to be very skilled with all of my talents to get by....I am really enjoying the complexity b/c it makes the battles feel more intense/epic; it genuinely helps with the story immersion if you go into it after some of these fantastic duels. Overall I love the experience I'm having with JK, in large part due to the story. Will keep playing to end.
  8. Another Orange Gear question: I have a Jedi Knight, Guardian so typically I should be wearing heavy armor. However, I like the look of an Orange Gear piece of medium armor much better....the unmodded armor rating is 12, the unmodded armor raiding on a piece of heavy orange armor that I have is 25.....if I fully mod the medium piece and use it instead, am I losing anything other than the 13 point difference??? Edit: Sorry...i missed the above post re. different armor categories.
  9. Aesthetic fixes I want to see for Jedi: fix the giant booty on robe sets, allow a "toggle hood" option, add more plain clothes (non-robe) looking variants.... doesn't necessarily have to be more colorful to keep the same feel (ex. Luke in original movies: moisture farm boy in NH, republic flight suit or tan republic uniform from ESB or, my personal favorite look, slim black plain-clothes look in ROTJ)
  10. Thanks for all the quick and helpful answers. I wish I had asked this question and understood all the ins and outs of orange gear earlier, before I scrapped some armor sets that I really liked the look of rather than modding them. Also, I kind of feel that my synthweaving skill on my Jedi is not as valuable as a skill that builds mods..... thinking of re-rolling with same character to correct past mistakes.
  11. 1. Is keeping the same set of early level Orange gear/armor a viable choice as you continue to level? While I know I can I get Orange gear and keep modding it, I want to know if orange gear generally stays competitive with alternative orange gear you find at higher level play later in the game? (i.e. Does Orange gear ever have base stats before it ever gets modified?) 2. Is there a way to view the mods equipped on a weapon or piece of armor without tracking down a modification station?
  12. I don't like scoundrel/operative b/c it will take so much more time to complete quests if you are having to stealth all the time. I don't mind playing healer for group utility but I'd like to have someone I could change the specs on and still enjoy the play style (sage/sorcerer). While the game's story for these types sounds appealing, I would rather do it as a gunslinger/sniper....reason being that I find it hard to suspend disbelief enough to think that a scoundrel can sneak up and "cheap" attack all these force sensitive or armored combat classes on a regular basis. Scoundrel or operative should be avoiding most fights and finding creative/stealthy ways to accomplish their goals but game requires that you combat hundreds of enemy on a daily basis...as far as the story goes, it's easier to believe that the other character types find themselves in such constant combat.
  13. On the subject of orange gear for Jedi Guardians: Is there a "best" way to customize? For example, I have a DPS spec guardian....would it be better to add mods that focus on strength (to maximize the DPS as much as possible) or should would I be better off if I focus on endurance (to balance out my DPS character w/ a little more survivability.)
  14. Are there any good books out there that you would recommend? Is there an order I should read things? I'm willing to read anything if it's quality work but I am more interested in the original three movies and anything that follows.
  15. I keep hearing reference to "Hard Mode" flashpoints and "normal mode" flashpoints. Can you actually change the difficulty on flashpoints or does "hard mode" simply a way of saying that your team is not ideal (i.e. no tank, no healer, ect..)? If you can change the difficulty, does this change the quality of item drops?
