  1. Bumping the thread due to the revised idea I restated in the first post. Though perhaps it now fits better in the section of suggestions for the cartel market?
  2. Thanks...still not entirely sure of what I want to do...for now though guess will stick with the slicing, scavenging and underworld trading...if all gathering skills doesn't seem as if it will cut it I suppose I can eventually drop the underworld trading and pick up a crafting skill later on.
  3. I'm a little confused as to how crafting works....especially in regards to making things to sell on the GTN so I was wondering if the best way to go was just to have three gathering or mission skills and forgo the crafting and sell the materials and other things for profit... I currently have slicing, scavenging and underworld trading for a level 17 smugger but wasn't sure if this was a good way to go for making credits or not....as I see investigation skill can yield schematics...would it be better to have slicing, investigation and underworld trading rather than the scavenging?
  4. Ok....guess that's what I will have to do then...thanks
  5. I've been running the game in windowed mode lately as it makes things easier if needing to tab in and out of the game as I then don't have to wait for it to reload. But if enough time passes by without me hitting a key or the mouse (like in a movie) my screensaver comes on. I've tried using caffeine (which seemed to work at first) but yesterday the screensaver STILL came on. Is there any way to fix this?
  6. I think you are misunderstanding me...I am not speaking about adding a sub forum...I'm speaking about preferred status players using the forums AS THEY ARE NOW. There is no reason that they shouldn't even as of now...as they DO support the game just as subbed players, do but I understand the concerns of some of the others which is why I suggested adding a way for non subbed players to PAY to use the forums. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of $5 a month. I hardly doubt someone would want to pay this amount EACH and every month just in order to spam the forums. And then there could still be the possibility of an IP ban for misbehaviour. I suppose my initial idea of paying via cartel coins wouldn't exactly work as you would have to do this via the internet and not in game but it could be done in the same way cartel coins are purchased. I know myself...the reason I can't always sub is because I can't always be active in game and if not active in game it seems a waste to pay $15 a month when I'm not playing....but even I would pay $5 a month to continue to support the game (even if I'm not actively playing) if it would grant me access to the forums, even if on a limited basis...in that way I could still participate and be involved in the community even when not acitively playing the game itself.
  7. I had another thought on this.... Granted, in my examples I mentioned F2P in regards to posting BUT as per the thread's title I am speaking mostly in regard to Preffered players...and the suggestion for forum access due to the fact that these players DO pay and contribute to the game...which led me to my newest thoght in this regard. As I said earlier I would be fine with this forum access being on a LIMITED basis (to separate preferred players from subbed) but what about the forum access being a PAID CHOICE via the cartel market. Something along the lines of 400 cartell coins gets you ONE month of limited forum access. Unlimited replies to posts and the ability to start a thread once a week. (or possibly a daily limit to forum replies as well) In this way a preffered player would have to keep donating in order to have forum acdess. All standard forum rules would of course apply. To sum up this is then somethign only available to a preferred status player...who would have to pay each month for LIMITED forum access.
  8. Yeah that was it Tatile, those were it...I guess I must have somehow over looked them *smacks head in stupidity* Thanks soo very much for the screenshot showing the appearance number.
  9. Thanks rgrocott I was figuring base on the price that the item was rare...but wasn't entirely 100% certain as still fairly new around here and not too familiar with the GTN yet or anything.
  10. Bumping the thread....hopefully this is allowed via a double post...sorry didn't see a bump button option, but figured as the last post was yesterday sometime thought it wouldn't hurt to bump once today in this manner.
  11. Wasn't sure where the best place to ask this was....I bought a Skip Tracer Cartel Pack....but haven't opened it... Now I'm mostly interested in the Flamehair Kowakian Monkey-lizard that MIGHT be int he pack but of course there is no guarantee.... Other than listing items in the GTN is there a place where you can advertise on the forums to sell either an entire pack or offer it in trade for the item I want? If not is it possible to sell an entire pack? I know I couldn't shortly after purchase...said it was bound to me or something of the sort. I'm not even sure if an entire pack would sell for approximately the asking price of the monkey-lizard in terms of credits (which was an astronomically high price in credits)
  12. uhhh did you miss the part where I said that I DO support the game by paying for things via the cartel market? That DOES indeed support the game. Preferred status players can and DO contribute to the game without ever purchasing a subscription. There are a variety of reasons a person would choose to contribute in this way and not want a regular subscription. Here's just ONE (and it is my main reason) I really enjoy this game...it is the ONLY mmo that I have EVERY spent real money on. However, like other mmos and other online I have played I am not always able to be on them. If I am unable to play for says or even months at a time them it is a waste of money to continuously pay for a subscription I am not using. BUT I am totally willing to buy cartel coins (which is money going to support of the game) to purchase items in game via the cartell market. Therefore, as I AM spending valuable money financially to support the game I feel that I SHOULD have a say in its future direction. Also, as I stated above...when not subbed, I wouldn't mind or have a problem with the forum access being on a limited basis. In that way subbed accounts would still be able to post MORE than someone who was a preferred player. And yes...this IS a possibility of something that can be done as I've been on other, public forums where there is a posting limit.
  13. Not something that the average person knows or is able to easily do. I for one wouldn't have a clue how to go about doing that. I seriously doubt that there would be THAT many users who would spam the forums, get IP banned and then go about switching their IP addresses in order to be able to continue to spam the forums on here. And as said, there are many F2P mmos that do allow everyone the access to post on forums. Plus, as said like the other things in-game this could be something granted on a limited basis. Even, allowing for more access the more that's donated each month. As said in the first post I'm mostly speaking in regards to preferred status players who have already paid ton contribute to the game...many who will continue doing so.
  14. Theoretically a subscriber could do this also...and use one account to post and one to play. Also...I know from public access forums it is possible to ban an IP address on a forum and therefore a F2p and a preferred access account COULD be banned from the forums using this method. This is also a method used for other mmos where F2P players CAN and DO post on the forums. I'm sorry...but as a person who DOES support this game (even when NOT subbed) I feel that at the very least a preferred status player SHOULD be able to post on the forums...even if on a limited/restricted basis. I would be happy even with that...knowing that while I can't be subbed I could reply to posts but only create them once a week. (using the above example of forum restrictions for a non subbed account)
  15. Not everyone would.....and from what I've seen there are TONS of complaint threads already on the forums so how would this really be any different? Besides which a preferred customer DOES pay just not necessarily on a month to month basis. Plus there are alternative ways to do this. For example...a preferred status player could have unlimited replies to another user's posts but be limited to only being able to create or start a new thread once a day. Free to play could be limited to replying x number of times per day and starting a new post once per week.
