  1. How about some chairs or couches we could freaking sit on? Or a social reason to be in cantinas? Honestly, I'd settle for the sitting.
  2. In what way is this an excuse for releasing an inferior product? Nobody except the family of a harebrained inventor says, "Oh that's sweet, it's your first try, so I'll buy your crappy thing for the same price." That's not a thing that happens. There's no need to excuse bioware for their shortcomings because it's their first try. They could have hired experts. This has been done before. So the only thing to be done now is to give them as many good suggestions as possible, stop the QQ and start helping out where they will let us. If they won't use their fans' help, that'll be their failure.
  3. Neither was the iPod Touch, but if I wanted to compete in the personal media devices market, I'd either have to release something with the same features, better features, or a much lower price. TOR has none of those three things.
  4. I know..."powers that be," you'll note. Not Bioware.
  5. I've never really understood why the powers that be chose to name a race after a famous anti-Catholic heresy from the middle ages. I also have never really gotten why it is that this heresy-named race is a bunch of cat people. But they look cool so I'm not complaining! Hopefully the first xpac will let us sit in chairs.

    Losing Interest

    Less QQ, more queue queue.
  7. Also we have no idea how long they were working on the content in 1.1 before it came out. It could've been started 60 days before launch for all we know.
  8. Companion dance. It works while moving. I don't care what the rest of you say, that alone is worth it.
  9. Yeah, that was a pretty hilarious post to read. Anyway, it really would be a shame if people only played four classes in this game, right? I think something I'm noticing about a lot of these posts is that people like the entrepreneur aspects of some of the sandboxy games. I guess they're already working on improvements to the crafting systems, and that's cool, but I think those probably need to come hand in hand with improvements to the trading systems. I think the GTN as it is has been rather buggy and annoying to use, just my personal take. It might be cool if there were some kind of dedicated "bazaar " area where players could sell things on a more retail basis. Perhaps they'd need to be rented so it wouldn't get totally out of hand, but I think this could be cool.
  10. So glad to see you say this. I can be pretty patient, but keep us updated! (also, I'd love to help)
  11. Personally, I'm really glad you guys are going for an initiative of greater visibility. Vote of confidence from me! I hope you've seen the other thread I've started about in-game community issues and the really great suggestions that people have made over there about how to improve in-game community. Do you think that some of these folks you've mentioned, with all the characters they play, would be interested in planning some live social events with players? That would be awesome.
  12. Puzzle-oriented missions would be awesome, too. In KOTOR there was that puzzle that was basically Towers of Hanoi, and there wasn't really anything like that in SWOTR that I've seen so far. At least, nothing central. It would be cool to add group puzzle hunts, to keep this on the theme of community. Nothing that's necessary for advancement, but something that like-minded players could do together that would add some fun and non-fighting intrigue.
  13. I really, really hope you're right that these will add that extra dimension that I and those like me are looking for. Also thanks again to everyone helping to make this thread useful.
  14. This argument over whether the game was ready at launch or not, or whether it should've been, doesn't really help with suggesting a bunch of features that would make people happier and would in the end make it a better game. Honestly I don't care if it was ready at launch or not. They made a finished product, but I think it can be improved to make players feel more involved. I'd really love to see some people discussing that rather than bickering over hindsight. But then again, this is a forum.
  15. I want to add some quotes to this discussion, from this thread. The thread is related to another topic, space combat, but it makes it clear that this design philosophy we've been talking about was present at BioWare but then was ultimately ditched or poorly executed. Bring it back! EDIT: Also, I mean for this to answer all the haters who have said those of us who want more freedom and community just didn't pay attention to what the game was supposed to be. If devs were saying things like this, there's no reason we shouldn't also have been accommodated.
