  1. Shameless necro bump, and excuse to mention that Stonewall guildies are the best guildies. I've been hanging with them for years now, and they're a great group.
  2. I'll skip the part where I mention how egotistical you sound in the OP, Nostradamus, but if you took a second to check out the information available, this one maintenance was shifted because it was a holiday in Europe (i.e., you're wrong about it being non-peak there). They know how many people play. If shifting one maintenance a couple hours meant more people got to play than would have at the normal time, they did the right thing.
  3. So, wait... it's a bad thing that there was a limited-time, in game event? They should just stop doing those, because you might not be able to make it? I suppose you could try to be a little more selfish, but it'd take some work.
  4. If you choose to solo, please at least have a little self-respect and realize it's your choice, and nobody's punishing you. Things being harder are a logical conclusion of doing things alone -- even if, frankly, they're not that hard. In any case, the "they're punishing me" victim act is going to get you laughed at far more than its going to get you sympathy. Take some responsibility for your own decisions.
  5. What kind of usable input could you possibly get from people who don't even play the game? It'd be pointless.
  6. For what it's worth, WoW has had the exact same bug (though, frankly, worse... sometimes it replaces your beard with another beard, which is like wrong squared) for over seven years. Apparently beards are very, very hard.
  7. This isn't even debatable. The graphics capabilities of any console out there are far, far inferior to modern PCs. It's not even close. How anyone could believe this is true is a total mystery to me.
  8. If you really want to see something done, wouldn't it be helpful to at least, oh, mention what bugs you're talking about? I see maybe one in that entire rant.
  9. No. Everyone comes up with this as a solution to every controversial issue, and it's not an option, ever. The upkeep of all the different server types people suggest would be an absolute nightmare. Will never happen.
  10. I hit the med center button and go back to playing. Not that I've ever actually seen a ten-minute timer.
  11. I'd like to see more, personally. They're my favorite part of leveling, and a really nice break from facerolling.
  12. Rift's launch was really clean by MMO standards... but the game itself? Not a fan. I find it hard to play for more than a few days without getting really bored with it. I know some people love it, but it puts me to sleep. The graphics are good, but overwhelming bland (IMHO), the macro system is the worst ever conceived, PVP was a totally imbalanced mess (which was pretty predictable, given their build system) and it all just seems overwhelmingly repetitive to me. Just my opinion, of course, but I personally would much rather be here. That certainly wouldn't be true if I was "spoiled."
  13. People don't "have to" find shortcuts. They are choosing to do that to avoid what are, in my opinion, perfectly reasonable travel times. Again, yes, it could be made shorter, but it's hardly excessive as far as travel time goes, especially compared to other MMOs. You obviously disagree, but from where I'm sitting, if people are choosing an exploit over relatively short travel times, then the exploit (and, again, a certain degree of laziness) is the real problem.
  14. And I totally agree with that. I never said anything different. We just disagree on the fix. I think the exploit should be removed. That doesn't make me an arrogant, dismissive troll, as the guy I responded to said I was. Thinking travel in this game is not slow does not make me any of those, and I've taken the time to collect data that backs my point up. And really, there's no irony. I did not stoop to flinging multiple personal insults toward anyone, nor did I accuse anyone of being a troll because has a different opinion. There's no need for any of that; it's just an obvious attempt to divert the conversation away from the actual issue at hand and turn it into a flame war. This is a really horrible analogy. You aren't honestly suggesting that travel should be completely eliminated, are you? That it's just "resetting the pins?"
  15. Well, yeah, people are lazy. That shouldn't be a shocker: they will generally take the path of least resistance. Funny how you don't seem to have a problem with the OP saying exactly the same thing. Incidentally, if you can't tell the difference between a blanket generalization (which is what I did there, and I'll freely admit it) and an insult, well, there's a huge difference between calling a person "arrogant," "dismissive," and a "troll," and saying that people in general are lazy.
