  1. If I may reiterate; I personally do not feel like this is a sinking ship whatsoever. I love this game, the community I'm involved with, my Guildies, and truly every little thing BioWare is doing for us. Honestly, I just have been glancing at the forums lately, and noticed all the doom and gloom.. Also noticed that most everyone who is complaining is generally having the same complaints, and almost anytime anyone's bad mouthing the game or something BioWare has done or hasn't done, it's a possibility that aggression could have been put out with a little more communication. I made this thread with the thought process of bringing back the questions for developers. I felt like that set up really helped a lot of people feel like they were heard. But you bring up a good point that more than likely the ones on here complaining for the most part would be complaining regardless. Bleh.
  2. Fair enough! *edit Community Team on behalf of Developers.
  3. That's an excellent point as well, and somewhat reflects my thought process if I were in charge of getting the product sold to as many people as possible. Obviously, though; I'm not a game developer, designer, CEO of a business or anything of the sort, so I do realize a lot more can be going into these decisions than myself, or most of the community, would think. Like the detailed description of why he thinks they decided not to go to these "smaller" conventions; that makes sense to me, and would probably make sense to a lot of the people who need communication as well. At the same time, that's also just another customer like myself saying it rather than the company, so it doesn't have completely the same effect lol. Any other questions that people think there needs to be more communication on?
  4. Thank you. You bring up extremely good points. And I'm very inclined to believe that those are the reasons. I guess really what I was shooting for wasn't necessarily BioWare to put it as detailed as you did, but maybe simply if what you said is how they feel, "Us not going is not because of us feeling like the game's equivalent to a sinking ship, but because we are trying to use the money you've put into our game more to bring you content rather than attend the show at the moment." I personally believe that that is the truth of the matter, and I whole-heartedly believe in the game and BioWare itself. I just feel like there's so many people coming up with their own reasons why and spreading them across the forum like a wildfire of negativity that maybe a little more communication would be nice. I know it has to be hard to make every individual feel like they're heard, but it truly does seem like a little more reasoning or apology could go a long way with some people. And while skimming, whoever simply wanted to say that asking for a response is a sure way not to get a response; again, my hope is simply to have a troll-free thread with questions from people that would make them feel better if they were answered and for the Devs to randomly glance here.. See a constructive thread and then everyone's happy. Optimistic? Maybe. But if it works, I think you'd feel good knowing they're listening, too.
  5. Let me start off by saying, I positively support this game. It's hard to look through the Forums because a lot of the feedback is horribly negative, but in some respects I understand the agitation. I know that BioWare doesn't have to respond to every naysayer or fanboy because if that was their intention they would be stretched far too thin. Still, I think the community as a whole would really like to have some encouragement on certain subjects. I think truly the community as a whole WANTS to believe in the game and its staff; even the ones that spend most of their time complaining in these forums about how horrible they think the game is. I'd like this thread to be questions for BioWare more than trolling on questions posted. I feel like they need a single, or maybe a smaller, area to be looking for these real questions about what's discouraging so many so that responses can be more forthcoming. Let's try this and see if it helps. Why skip Celebrations AND PAX? The message sent by such an action is scary for some, I think. And to others it's just confusing. It makes it to where people are coming up with their own reasons which leads to unrest. Rather than asking "when"; is there a timetable of say... Before the end of the year for Guild support or content, character customization in game, or any community-related support features in game? Both of these are questions for BioWare that I feel like are asked pretty regularly lately. If you have any questions that having an answer to would make you feel better about the game's future, please post them here. Try not to ruin the thread with trolling. If this works, BioWare may surprise you and make you have the trust in them you're looking for. Thanks.
  6. Re-posting! No one has any thoughts on the subject?
  7. Myself, and some of my Guildies, have been wondering when BioWare plans to implement more of the Guild content discussed at the Guild Summit. By no means am I angry or impatient about it... Just simply curious about the timeline on when some of those community additions will be coming. Obviously content the game takes precedence, but is anyone else curious about this as well? My main wish on the list is probably an in-game calendar of some sort. Also, just curious for the RPers out there... What would everyone like to see BioWare do sooner than later for them? For instance, I'd really like to have an in-game barber or tattoo artist of some sort so that you can change your toon's hairstyle or etc. And of course, I'd like chairs in cantinas to be able to be sat upon, lol. One other cool idea that I've heard a bunch is having pzaak in the casino on Nar Shaddaa. That or some other small mini games that people could interact with each other on. What's everyone think of these, and any other ideas?
  8. Guild Questions and Character Customization: First of all, definitely love all that y'all have done with this game. I hope that people continue to show praise and gratitude for making such an awesome game an keeping up with us so diligently. Onto the questions; are there any character customization options being looked at in the near future for in-game after making your character. Such as, for the Role Playing environment out there, being allowed to change a hair style or add scars and such etc. Second question being Guild-related; is there any ETA in the works on when we can expect more Guild-related updates such as an in-game calendar for guild events, or any other ideas that were brought up during the Guild Meeting a couple months ago. Obviously we'd all like to know when Guild ships will be here, but I think most would appreciate other smaller Guild functions before unveiling the Guild ships.... Unless you want to give us a hint! Again, completely appreciate all y'all have done for us, and I'll continue to be an active subscriber even after you go Free To Play! Thanks for any answers you can send my way!
  9. I have watched the forums since launch, mostly just reading and never really posting. I would categorize myself as an avid gamer with swtor rather than hardcore gamer, and maybe that's why I don't understand... But one question keeps coming to mind: if everyone's theoretically do unhappy with the "failure" that swtor is, then why are so many people still playing? Why are you, the complainers, still playing? I completely understand being frustrated with bugs and all, but some of you seem genuinely disgusted with the game. Which, with that in mind makes me ask that question above. Has any MMO ever come out completely ready to go with no updates needed? And truthfully, has the game not been fun enough to play exploring the different classes and stories to wait for the new content and the fixes? Again, not trying to troll; just more don't understand why the forum's completely full of complaints about how horrid the game is but the game is full of so many people that are legitimately happy and patient with the game.
