  1. So um I see that you claimed server first for Dread Master Styrak. I really don't see how you can do that considering you have full 78. There is a reason we have stayed away from Dread Palace and Dread Fortress. We only go in there to piddle around when people are out for the raid week and we cannot do progression. We have no 78 mainhands in our group for a reason. Full 78 mainhands for all the dps makes S&V a joke. Especially Thrasher, Warlords, and Styrak the only real bosses in there. You can hit the 50% mark on Thrasher way faster so you have one less sniper grp and don't come close to enrage. You only deal with 2 spines on Styrak and the split phase is a joke since you would only need 1 knockback and can kill him. I just don't see how you can give yourself that check mark. You did kill him on the server first, but you farmed the easier to get gear first and then went and did him. That is not progression. I can't speak for the rest of my group, but I don't raid to faceroll something because we out gear it. We raid to beat fights that are challenging and have fun while doing it. We have been getting server firsts for a very long time....we could easily have full 78 gear....but we don't because there is no fun in that. If it wasn't for us having to take the whole summer off because of vacations etc we probably would have cleared the instance awhile ago anyways. I am not saying you should give us server first credit when we kill him, but maybe you want to do like Barry Bonds and the home run record with a little asterisk next to it.
  2. It is not just in huttball though that is the clear example. They can be the first to any node in any of the maps by far with only one way to stop them. Hope you have a decent operative on your team. Does that many any sense that an ability has completely changed the way we pvp? Oh and I love people that say oh, but you can slow them and they can only roll 6m. Well you can't slow them from spawn point and a cleanse or a stealth out and clear....and oh there they go again. So don't act like smart operatives don't cleanse their slows before they start rolling.
  3. Amen. Coming from a ranged too.
  4. Yes because they can't cleanse the slow and be out of your range and then keep rolling. So easy right? Slow them they stealth out if its force....slow drops in like 5 secs and oh there they go again. Or maybe you mean all the classes that have a ranged slow right? If you haven't noticed not a ton of classes have long ranged slows so you just have to watch them rolling away. Spammable scamper is the dumbest thing. How do you introduce an ability that completely changes the way all the maps are played? What ability that any of the other classes got so completely changed pvp? I would love for you to point one out to me. Also, to those that say that cover to an operative doesn't matter. When you sit there and cover and heal your butt off and all the melee have to walk up to you unlike every other healer and then when we get to you. You stun us and roll away and sit in cover again and we have to slowly walk to you again. Yes that seems extremely fair. Oh and leaps and pulls are an important interrupt mechanic to a ton of classes. If you were somehow infinitely weaker I could understand being able to avoid interrupts. However, operatives are no where near weaker healers atm, but the strongest. They cast so infrequently now and when they do if they are a good operative you can't do anything to them unless you are within 4m which you probably won't be for very long with all of their stuns and the roll.

    Operative Healing

So explain something to me. How is it that operatives now have the most mobility on top of everything they had before. Their Hots are very strong, they can heal from cover, they have dodge, and stealth. They can scamper all over the map being the most mobile player. They are the only healer that can heal from a crouched position that is called "cover" even though there is no cover around and they are a healer not a dps class. Cover for a sniper or gunslinger makes perfect sense. For a healer it is the dumbest ****. They can't be pulled or leapt to and they are the only healer that has anything close to that on top of stealth which they always had which people seem to forget as being a pretty damn good ability for a healer. They can stealth out...they can stealth over to a node without being slowed or stopped by the opposition etc. Their regen is ridiculous and they barely have to cast a heal with all the instants they have. So if you are going to say that scamper kills your energy....yes I know....I am sorry that you cant scamper across the entire map and instantly be at full energy throwing out heals. Just because it costs energy....its not like energy management on an operative healer is exactly a problem right now.... Since 2.0 each class got an additional ability. From duel saber throw, reflect, sniper roll, sage bubble, commando root thing. All of it have been nice additions to every class. They have caused you to be even smarter when playing classes etc. Not one of those abilities has so completely broken pvp as scamper. It has completely changed the nature of pvp. If you don't have an operative you are screwed. If you are in civil war and they have an operative or smuggler and you don't they cap their node long before you can and they just hold mid indefinitely. In voidstar once they get the first door they stealth out and scamper to the datacore. Where no one can catch them unless you are lucky enough to have a decent operative on your team. I mean I literally don't know what you people are thinking. I mean do you people even play the game? Have you ever been up against a good operative. Where they are always in cover when healing. Where they roll from node to node in stealth without a prayer to stop them and can reinforce nodes in no time at all. There is not one....not one speed buff that is spammable in the game before scamper. Now you give them an ability that is spammable on top of everything else they have. Like if stealth, out of combat mezzes, stuns, roots, and an 8 sec mezz wasn't enough? I have seen comments about how omg you can't nerf scamper....please its like everyone forgot they already had a pretty damn good ability which was stealth. You can adjust the energy cost to compensate, but have a spammable buggy thing like scamper is beyond ridiculous at this point. I am not talking about a crappy operative that sits there out of cover and heals. So if you are going to flame me you are an idiot. No ability has so profoundly changed the way we play pvp. Take something away from them because its pretty ridiculous already especially considering that they warp across your screen. You need to delay a cartel shipment for a week and fix a lot of the crap in pvp where people warp all over the screen especially in huttball. Its embarrassing that they have been in the game this long already.
  6. I probably won't because my raid group doesn't want to go and eventually they will do cross server. The problem will be solved then. Cross server is inevitable. Oh and the other main reason that I wouldn't go is because you think having 1 Neo is bad you will have 10 to 20 on a pvp server. The communities are sooo sooo bad. Not saying there aren't good people over there, but there is generally so much venom from very immature players.
  7. Sigh its funny that the only people talking about scamper and how it isn't a problem is operatives and scoundrels. The funny thing is that people act like you aren't moving forward when you are scampering. The one or two steps you take between scampers does a lot with the huttball. Our leaps are predicated on having someone in front of us in a ranked match....people don't let you leap to them on a good team. And they stop people from going ahead for friendly leaps. Just talking to your points. If they need to make scamper always go 12m and put a cd on it then that is still better than the way that it is working now. Trust me.
  8. Why do people who don't do much pvp talk in these forums? If you have pvped quite a bit since 2.0 you have at least seen this happen quite a few times. It is impossible not to have seen it. They can roll past all the fires unlike most ball carriers that when a fire is up they have stop and wait for it to go down.....which is how people catch up to them.
  9. Ok so what I don't understand is why you are all just going nuts about getting a small cd to prevent you from scampering across a map. I am talking about a 5 sec cd for dps and an 8 sec cd for healers. I also said that as a return you can lower the energy cost or eliminate it completely. That way you can literally scamper and open up immediately without having to wait for some of your energy to come back. Do you realize how little 5 secs is in pvp? Do you think that you should be the only melee class that can stay on a target permanently? If you are melee you are supposed to be slowed, kited, stunned, and knocked back. It comes with the territory. Though DF is strong on damage scrapper brings tons of burst that is huge in ranked pvp. To say they bring nothing to the table is uninformed. Also, you need to learn to use gap closers in you have a problem with a small cd. You don't scamper up to a target just like we don't leap up to a target usually you walk up put damage on them and when they force speed away then you use your leap. That is the difference between a skilled player....and one that isn't. I don't need a spammable ability because i know how to counter the classes I go up against. If my gap closer was spammable I would know that it is too much. Force speed last for very little and jks/juggs have to have a target to use theirs. They can't scamper across a map. Your gap closer would still be intact. This is a viable logical way to fix the mobility on the map issue. The people arguing against this act like you already don't have something that lets you move freely across the map called stealth. You can move without being targetted and slowed, stunned etc. As to whoever was commenting about the healers...I will say it simply.....no name healers now get in long drawn out matches with guards and put up 3 times the average heals they used to get. DPS even with the huge boost they got to dps in long drawn out matches typically put up only double the damage they used to. Now I am pretty sure this isn't because all the "good" healers just started pvping since 2.0
  10. I don't have a problem with the gap closer issue like I said I am in no way talking about removing it.....but understand that you can't just have an ability that can only be countered by other people of your same class. Pretty much everyone else just has to watch you scamper away without being able to do literally anything about it. Leap....on dodge and oh there you go again with no way for me to catch you....and this is just talking from a JK perspective....I can give you a few from other classes perspective. The fact that you can spam it several times in a row with cool head is silly. Oh and I do have an operative so I know exactly how the mechanic works. The only person that can legitimately catch up to you is another operative or scoundrel. Does that make any sense? That the only person that can keep up with you is one of your own class? What happens if one team doesn't have one? All I am saying is my problem with scamper isn't the fact that you have to gap close its the fact that it gives a huge advantage when it comes to moving around a pvp map. You have stealth.....this idea that you needed to be the fastest thing under the sun to be viable is so silly. You can many times move freely where others can't because of stealth....I know if someone sees me they tend to attack me....so you think it is fair that you can stealth around a map without getting attacked on sight and its ok that you can move faster than everyone at the same time? Have you ever seen how fast a scampering operative or scoundrel can cap a side node on civil war? Think it is fair that if you don't have a class with at least some speed boost they may not get the interrupt? Also, if you think that healing isn't a little much right now then you are healer. Do you know how you can tell when something is a little too strong? When you see a bunch of people in the pvp matches being that spec or class. Why do you think there are so many healers in pvp matches now....
  11. I am sorry, but I am confused. Why would this not translate to future gear advances? As primary stat of dps increases the healers would be getting that same boost to their stats. This would essentially create the same pairing at the next gear advance. I am sorry if I am missing something, but that is the way I was thinking of it at least.
  12. Ok so if we are going to start just talking about what advantages classes have I wish I could heal myself around a corner, I wish I had a mezz on someone from stealth. I wish I had stealth and I wish I had a ranged 8 sec mezz etc. The fact that you are talking about my gap closer in comparison to yours is irrelevant. My class doesn't have things that yours does and vice versa. The basic point is that it is our gap closer. The fact that mine is different is irrelevant. Oh and it is on a 15 second cooldown with my scenario of a 5sec cd for dps you could roll 2 almost 3 times before mine comes back up. Be logical and fair in your comparisons please.
  13. Just because you have a gap closer doesn't mean it is supposed to be spammable.....I can't leap to someone over and over again it has a cd. We all have cds to our gap closers why should you be any different?
  14. I am talking about all the doors, bridges, and forcefields from the first door not the actual datacore....
  15. A shadow cannot force speed ahead of everyone non-stop. Anyone who has pvped has seen an operative do things a shadow or sage could never hope to do with force speed. I have pvped a lot more than most and I know that being able to spam this ability is not a fair ability. You can stealth out with dodge and scamper away and there is no way for anyone to stop you. A shadow can stealth out and force speed and I can still catch up to them and stop them before a cap is finished. Not with an operative or scoundrel. I am not even talking about the application of going in stealth from one node to another in novare or civil war for example. It is instant support that no other class can even hope to copy. I get that it costs a lot of energy, but with cool head and 12m rolls you can get to a node with no energy and still use auto attack to interrupt.....
