  1. Finished loading off of Steam and it fixed all of the launch issues with the launcher.
  2. So I did the last time phone support who basically went go with Steam because there were so many issues going straight through SWTOR. So my recommendation is if you are having issues do not go through SWTOR support if you downloaded it directly and try the Steam method first. It is taking a while to download and I will give an update if it fixes the issue.
  3. Ok, I went to support got an email did everything that they requested including working with McAfee support who ensured that the virus protection was not the issue. I have deleted and reinstalled twice, done everything else and now I am being told to get back on the phone and hold again. New computer, this worked on the old computer with Windows 10 will not work on the new one with Windows 11 and everything else I run will. So I cancelled my paypal account on this and frankly I am just going to let the subscription run out, which looks like what a bunch of other people are also doing. When I am given my next Survey from one of the companies that tracks what is going on in the gaming community EA and SWTOR is going to get a brutally honest evaluation that they put their time above their subscribers and the game is going to see fewer and fewer subscribers because of it. One comment make customer support easier and stop making subscribers who are paying you for a game work to get it to work. When there are thousands of posts stating that there are launcher issues then that sounds like something that deserves more than a email to do a bunch of stuff that does not resolve the issue.
  4. The strong woman message was lost in the slap and this is why I say that. If a man slaps a woman is he being strong or is he being an abuser, if it is fair for one sex it is fair for the other. Forcing the issue based on strength of will, knowledge and ability to convince others, and being the better person shows strength, the other way is a shortcut that would not be tolerated if it was done by a male character to a female character the outrage would be huge. Two of the best bosses I ever had were women and they were great, one of the worst bosses I ever had was also a women, when I quit due that company due to the worst boss, I was told by a female HR person that I obviously had problems with having a female Director. That was inspite of having worked for a female boss and a female director and having turned down a promotion to stay in that group because of the excellent working environment prior to them leaving the company and the bad boss coming in. Oh and I held both sets up to the same standard that I held male bosses up to both good and bad.
  5. You could read my post, frankly the amount of griping in my large guild as well as the others in the fleet chat looks like if they act on their dislike will mean a huge reduction in subscribers.
  6. I have been trying to deal with this mess and normally while I don't come onto the forums the amount of griping in chat with people who are also trying to work their way through this is getting loud. So some questions on why someone thought the new weekly format was a good idea: 1. After pushing us to spend time and resources to build up our Strongholds to build up to 150% of earning our weekly Conquest points suddenly that all just goes away. I am expecting to get flamed for this but read this is my 'personal' opinion and seems to from conversations in game to be shared by a large group of subscription players. Bioware you have now convinced me do not spend any money on anything that you are trying to get us to do because you will then pull the rug out from under us. If that was your intent you managed to get us trained well, no more buying any of the cartel coins because they do not matter except for the very short time. 2. I generally by now have 6 toons having finished Conquest to help my guild in their goals. After trying to work with this new format, I do not have one through. Admittedly I had to fly out of town Thursday night and got back in after midnight Sunday morning, but I have had to travel before and always managed to get at least one toon through it. As far as my personal time this new format isnt worth wasting my time on. 3. Did you really go out and ask your customers what they thought of these changes, because most of the peoples opinions on the server I am on run from a. I will make this work because I love the game, b. this is way too much work I do this for enjoyment not for another job, c. Was the intention to run off subscribers so they could shut the game down? I am going to have to sit down and go through this but I am (from what I am seeing I am not alone) considering cancelling my subscription between these types of changes, losing for a week what I earned the week before in Conquest because it doenst seem to matter to get it right, really tired of some of the cheating going on in the PvP matches where now people are invunerable and disappearing and no I am not talking about sith and jedi using their abilities I am talking about almost killing a trooper or Agent and suddenly they disappeared and they are at full health, and the glitches that never seem to get fixed but when you submit a ticket you get a condescendling reply back from Customer support. Wondering if this is how they want to end this game?
  7. At 90 I would have probably agreed that they were extremely cheap but frankly with the number of server mergers that other stuff that happened, now they are 1,000. Sorry that is like pouring acid on a wound and this is the way that Biowared who doesnt fix bugs and has been none responsive to getting out what they promised on the rest of the stories thinks is going to keep subscribers? Bioware, I guess you think I am going to whip out my credit card and make your Christmas, nope as a matter of fact I am really thinking about pulling back on the subscription that I am currently paying for. I have a habit of not supporting bad customer service and support.
  8. Ok if anyone else is having this issue, first pull up Task Manager and delete where it is showing the application error as running, then shut down the load in application. Then using Windows Explorer go into your SWTOR section and delete Bitraider and start up the game again it will start loading. This worked for me but is still a royal pain that you have to do it.
  9. When trying to log in I am getting 'Application has encountered an unspecified error. Please try this patch again.' Tried multiple times and still getting this, frankly after not seeing anything fixed in this game and even having to delete toons because of issues that are not fixed I am about fed up. Plus I am a subscriber and I do spend some funds in the Cartel Market but that is about to change. Especially if I cannot even play the game with out having to go and find out what the crap is screwed up now. Third time something like this has happened and apparently the Devs don't seem to want to ensure that what they load is tested against errors that deprive game subscribers of what they are paying for.
  10. Definitely in the upper 10% of the age group turn 60 this year Houston, Texas.
  11. Yeah I was trying to figure it out plus on another server I am showing as free to play inspite of my being a subscriber. So I guess I can quit paying them?
  12. All, just finished up with another round of going back and forth with the help desk at STWOR and once again it took me in a complete circle back to where they are not going to do anything due to glitches in the game. The ones that I am talking about are the Voss Weekly which hasn't been updating and allowing turn ins since October of 2015 and the Weekly HM where you successfully complete three HM flashpoints and you get awards as well as Conquest points, which has now been screwed up for months. The standard way that it goes is that you place a ticket and you are contacted as they close it to say that they need additional information. You open up another ticket and give them the information that they requested on the now closed ticket and they look at it and say that it is a bug and close the ticket and tell you to report it as a bug. When you do that they thank you for reporting it but still you don't get anywhere as far as progression, credits, or Conquest points that are now forfeit because of programming errors in the game. The goal in the game is to gear up toons, help your guild and yourself through Conquest point accumulation, and build up credits to allow you to play at the higher levesl. All of these goals are circumvented by the indifference that EA and Bioware is showing to fixing ongoing issues. IE you can directly leave advancement and gameplay issues at their doorstep, however they would like you to continue playing and paying for a game that apparently they are not willing to go in and fix hoping that you are willing to put up with it. The above two are only examples, right now I have the logs from PvP matches where it is obvious that someone is introducing the old Lag Cheat. I monitor my frame rate and IP connection and when suddenly you get into a PvP warzone and it goes off of the charts when it hasn't before then it is obvious that you have someone playing around with the game. Since multiple tickets to SWTOR don't seem to have them wanting to do anything I have transmitted the data over to the FTC and my Internet Provider which will probably also not do anything but it might get the IP addresses of the folks who are doing it into some trouble. Again what does it matter except it means that you are taking a lot longer to get through the PvP section of gearing your toons and getting a possible win that counts as two towards the weekly which does both gearing from the points and helps with Guild Conquest goals. From a game example if you don't have meters up and running when you see a player who doesn't have the ability to immediately pull himself back to a point disappear only to show back up fully healed and with all of his abilities off of cooldown to kill you, guess what someone on that side is probably cheating with a lag cheat or something similar. To answer some of the people who are going to say they are just that good, four characters in full PvP gear firing at someone who doesn't have the impenetrable shield up and is their main healer and their health doesn't drop probably means that there is something fishy going on there. Especially when you are guarding something and no one has come around and suddenly there is a bomb on the door, again guess what it is probably not you falling asleep. Look at the game log when one side who is decently geared has no kills and the other side has a ton there is something nuts going on. Even in a game where one side is PvP geared and one side isn't and it is fair you will see some kills because most of the people I PvP with mark up healers and we go after them with a vengeance. Why the post, it is just to serve notice that yes it is being seen by the customer base and the customer base is from what I hear both tired of it and are moving on. Not only that the comments being stated on Guild blogs and other gaming blogs is never again will they trust EA or Bioware, which is a shame this was a really nice game before it was given up on by the developers.
  13. So are we at the point that you might as well figure something else out to do? I agree with the postings, this is supposed to be professional and instead of a Beta Server where stuff can fail first without dragging down paid for time in the game we get this. Just about the last time for me on this game, for the last few months nothing is getting fixed, the Voss weekly has been down since October and the Protocol Droid routine isn't cute anymore, Conquest Points were done all of last week, this is starting to act like a Yugo, where we wonder how many pieces can fall off and it still run.
  14. Just tried it, wonder if I can file to get a refund on my payment from my credit card since they don't deliver why should I have to? This is becoming along with the Conquest points being bugged a huge joke that this game is out of control with Blizzard not caring about their customers at all.
  15. Thanks for the suggestion but I not only say heals going mid or something like that I toss down my aoe heal in the group while we are all standing around. That plus saying heals mid, keep them off of me and I keep you alive longer and at least on the Empire side it is like I might as well not be there until they start doing their "no one keeping me up" gripe then I respond well did you get them off of me while I was trying???? Frankly, I go to where the help is needed right up until I realize that a. no one in the group is going to try and play smart and keep the healer alive, & b. they are going to burn me down so fast that I might as well not be there. At that time I go over to where ever we have a node and start farming defenders medals and help out there and listen to the folks throw a fit that the healer is not where the fighting is going on. Too bad as the group has said do what is necessary to get your medals so I am and that means that the others in the group if they play stupid are not going to get healed and we lose which is apparently the way that it is. It takes me two to three weeks to get the weekly on the Empire side with the pugs. On the Republic side I get it by the third or fourth night and I dont farm after I get the daily done.
