  1. I realize posting all this from my point of view probably wont change anything. I just figured i'd still take 30 minutes of my time to let everyone know just how bad of a support and endgame this game offers for anyone that plays over 5 hours a week. Thats my choice and its a public forum, I had information and I wanted to share them. Everyone does not think alike - all I am doing is telling people who have yet or just dinged 50 and looking forward to endgame that they should not expect much.
  2. Hello, BioWare and the Forums viewers on this board. Before I start off this big thread I got going,, I'm not here to cry about X class being op/up nor am i here to compare it to any other game. Star Wars the Old Republic is a good game - sadly it could have been a Great game - I would like to say this before I decide to call it quits so if you're reading this you can decide on your own if it's really worth giving money to a company that clearly does not care. I was going to include a text saying I'm not here to diss the game but seriously after all I wrote i cannot include this sentence anymore, its just not right. Warning for a long text.... So first off: General Stuff I'd like to point out one of the big selling points of this game: Companions. Love them or hate them, this idea was pretty nice. It was a nice idea and their AI worked pretty good most of the time, However they become useless at level 50, wich was a bit of a dissapointment. Perhaps if you had put in some Solo missions (not the ilum dailies) where you actually needed a good geared companion there would be a purpose with them. In its current state, once you ding 50 they are never to be seen again. I like the lore of Star Wars, so prologues and talking with the NPC's seemed like a fun idea, and to be fair it was fun at the start, however it got really boring fast because in the end it did not really matter what choices you made aside from the dark and light side points - I would just like to point out that a storyline such as Esseless was only seen in just Esseless besides the class-quest wich I lacked at endgame, the other dialogues, or well 80% of them were pretty useless and I just spacebar'd through them. If the answers wouldve mattered more, people would pay more attention. The diffrence of going Dark or light does not really matter either. So you get some sith corruption or you look like a handsome man/lady if you go light aka nothing changes. so much for that system when you can only buy a handfull of items - even the diffrent mounts are not even that diffrent - one is gray/black and the other one is white, same model... jesus. Speaking of mounts why are some mounts huge trucks covering your entire screen... doesnt make sense and is not a cool way of designing. The main city: Dull. Why? Because first of all, there was no real "meeting place" you know, a place where you could sit while your in the fleet and just talk with other people, or well. I suppose this had something to do with me rolling Republic aswell as it seems they were outnumbered on almost all servers by 3:1 or more... I lack the community. I guess in the end the city is what you make it and when there are so few people online its hard to meet new people. The game does not like putting people together from what ive seen, you have to work for it to make sure you find yourself a nice group or some people to quest for - Not saying its a bad thing, but without any kind of help to do so by a tool its just... not good enough. Speaking of Community, I found it really lacking that there were no world-channels. For example if you're looking for a group, its pretty hard to find people unless you want to whisper everyone around your level. The fact that there was no LFG-Tool and that there were no world channels or any kind of matching system where people could flag themselfs as they want to do an instance is really meh. I know there is a "Looking for Group" icon to choose - however its simple not enough. Where are the Game Masters? Why is the Customer support so terrible that it stinks all the way from BioWare/EA's server-room to my own apartment. The amount of help offered is the worst ive seen in any MMO ive played so far, and I've played a few in my days. Really really terrible time on replies to tickets, noone to actually help you in-game and even if you send a ticket with all the needed information all you got back was an automated response saying they will either look into it or they ask you to send another ticket wich they said "we need more information to help you" when EVERYTHING that was needed was stood in that ticket - I simply do not get how little love you have for your community. Player vs Player Okay then, moving towards player vs player. Or should I say Player vs PlayerS - as this was the case for most Republic players in Ilum, I know this is noone but the players fault but seriously the republic side was and still is outnumbered so hard its not even fun to even try, anyway: Ilum PvP: You released this grand PvP zone where you announced hey come battle over here, its World PvP with Objectives! Sadly this turned into a hello enemy, shall we trade objectives for the quest and be done with it? No good reason to actually do the pvp in Ilum, no goal no real rewards. Then you changed Ilum and suddenly it was 400 Imperial players vs 150 of the Republic wich resulted in a grand zerg moving together and just mowing everyone down in their path and eventually led to them camping our spawn as your "Defense Turrets" didnt do anything - Players from the Empire farmed so much valor by doing this that becoming a Battle Master meant nothing as they all were or close to, battle master themselfs after that ONE day, and they decided not to roll back the servers or strip the people of their valor ranks, I supppose a few got to pay the price just so they can say to themselfs "We did something" To top this off, you implemented a buff towards the WINNING side of Ilum, hey guys have 100% more valor because your the biggest number of players, not necessary the better one's. So you reward them for being a big zerg... thats great. Instead you couldve given the other side a damage/healing/health buff to even the odds, but no. Anyway, enough about Ilum - lets go to Warzones. Three Warzones, Huttball must be one of the more fun ones you could do as it was pretty original. However the fact that you could Charge/Pull and basicly spam snare/stun/cc players made it a bad design. Civil War is a basic warzone, nothing much to add really. I disliked it because it was more about defending turrets than actual PvP - half of the time you just stood there watching.. more action = more fun. Voidstar was and still is annoying. Why? Because people like to abuse bugs. Standing inside the door making others line of sight, jumping out of the starter area to plant as its been 1 second into the game. the luck of the draw that enabled people to plant if they were fast enough and lucky with the door to not unlock and so fourth. All in all, I think 1 more Warzone wouldve been a great asset, a capture the flag mode or something brand new. Now about the Valor ranks, How you can make up a system with randomized loot is beyond me. You spend hours and hours into PvPing and you have a CHANCE to get an item when you use your currency - WHAT?. I was one of the luckier once as I got alot of gear fast through bags, others opened 20-30 bags without a single item. Fail design from the get-go. The way Expertise works is also too low, sure it increased the damage and healing yadayada, but it shouldve counted for more. I got over 600 Expertise and I am 1 piece off full Battlemaster gear - 12% more damage and healing + reduced damage taken, and then accounting for that the gear I worked for really doesnt provide a nice upgrade - The tier items Champion/Battlemaster ... It's a joke how little stat diffrence there is. Full Champion vs a Full Battlemaster and I'm looking at maybe 50 more Willpower, 50 more endurance and 50 more Expertise. It's simply too low of an upgrade. I still feel like im wearing champion gear, nothing has changed. Despite all the hate towards the PvP, it was still amusing - I had fun leveling to 60 most of the time. The balancing was pretty darn good for being a just released game, sure some classes had an advantage and sure some spells was really annoying - But I had fun while it lasted. Now tho, I got rank 61 and I got nothing else to do in the game other than to log for the daily bags. I found it annoying not have a competative scene, I'm not necessary asking for an arena but some type of progression ladder such as a ranked warzone team couldve actually made a diffrence. I'm afraid even if they will add this in the future the majority of players wouldve moved on from this game. Player vs Enviroment Let me start off by being positive for once, I liked the Instances you put in this game. It was a blast to run through them they all had a cool theme and "some" had a nice storyline that got me entrigued. Sadly, the instances fall short because of the Combat and how the monsters move. Leveling to 50 made sure that it was hard to find an instance group in the first place atleast if you werent playing a few hours a day cause then I guess there was more players but for those that took time off and decided to spend a few days in the start to level it really was no initiative to go to these instances at all really - it was a bad XP gain, it took a long time to travel to the instance and once you got there I guess it wasnt rewarding enough - I also felt like the bosses had very basic mechanics, hey a big circle on the ground dont stand in it or the boss switching target and chasing another player... really dull. So then comes the level 50 content, the 4man heroics were all filled with Enrage timers - Not that it took mass loads of skill to plow through these instances because yet again, these bosses provided nothing intresting but a DPS-race before you wiped. Hey he does an AoE spin or watch out for the AoE on the ground. Very basic and very annoying that the bosses was based on Enrage only - A bad design. I would also take some time to point out the obvious "lag" for example in Esseless the last boss does a circle and if you arent already running there is a huge chance of you taking that aoe hit even tho you moved as fast as you could when you were stationary. Let's move onto the Operations. No target of target frame made things very.. how do I put this.. Lame? Because it was not hard, it was simply annoying that there was no such feature in the game for PvE and PvP for that matter, Bonethrasher comes to mind - also Lightning balls on SOA. All the bosses I encountered in this game died the same evening, apart from Hardmode and Nightmare SOA wich actually took a stunning 2 evenings to do, and once they nerfed SOA the nightmare mode turned into a joke - Jarg and Sorno was the next boss in line of wiping on - We were there for 5 hours trying to get through the mechanic of the boss (Jarg) 1shotting players as soon as he reached 40% and there was no stopping it either, even with Fortitude stims and Gunslinger shields we couldnt outlast the ability - And he kept spamming it aswell. This was fixed a patch later and voila - Killed them on our first attempt. Where is the damage meters or the dummies or anything to to actually measure the DPS or Healing or Threat you could put up, its very basic of an MMO to offer these things - I guess in the end the reason why you refused to include these types of things into the game is because you dont want players to actually see the HUGEEEEEEEEE diffrence in classes DPS, Healing and Threat. A poor decision. The loot system is a joke. I cannot believe they actually FORCE you to use "randomly assigned loot" in normal mode, the fact that the raids drops way too many loot pieces per boss kill that you can get stacked up in full pve gear in 2 full raids basicly and then to find out the Rakata weapons has been bugged since Beta and they havent even put in effort into fixing such an easy problem - really how hard can it be? Chests bugging and not rewarding players loot, Quests thats there for killing raid bosses does not work so you didnt get anything from those for 5+ weeks of raiding its impossible to defend such things. I understand that a game has bugs, but the raiding scene is just a big mess, unfinished and recieved very little if any testing. Yet again, we see a big problem with the gear pieces going from Tionese to Columi to Rakata meant very minor stat upgrades - Why is it so hard to actually reward people with a proper item if they beat something in a difficulty not many are suppose to be able to do, and then the designers were lazy on actually making the gear pieces look good - I mean come on, the Columi robe for a Sage had some light green on it and the rakata one removed that little green and replaces it with white. really? no love for endgame. Let's not all forget about the bugged bosses, for example the 2 Pylons (wich is a joke by the way) kept stopping in the middle if you didnt do an exact order, didnt say you failed the encounter didnt do anything - just locked up and there was nothing you could do about it, Bonethrasher hitting his swipe behind his back and yet again he was an enrage timer boss on harder difficulties. Plateu's dissapearing for no reason at SOA and then the pylons in the end not even breaking his shield when it landed on his face, dying randomly in the instance and even outside of the instance (what?). the fact that the Infernal Council is suppose to be a 1v1 you can still assist others and the fact that they are faceroll does not help - my mate stood there as a sentinel and did 1 attack the entire fight on Nightmare and still killed his opponent.... good balancing right there. All in all, this game kept me busy for a month but once you discover the tragedy of bugged and bad/easy content this game has to offer there is no longer anything to do online. This game could have been a great game with some more time in the developement stage and more love and care for its players. But I guess the people behind the curtains got greedy and wanted to push out an unfinished product. I'm sorry that I paid for a second month now, really am. This was a long post but sums it up for me, I consider myself an above average raider and pvp'er in MMO's. I'm by no means a pro but darn it, it couldve been such a great game. Thanks for taking the time to read through all of this and if you choose to continue playing this game - I hope that BioWare and EA decides to give you some more love and care. Over and out.
  3. From my experience: Its a close call, the Sage needs to have proper full pvp spec with the 2 sec root. prolly win/lose 50/50 when i meet a marauder/sentinel.
  4. This game NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDS competative PvP There is NOTHING to do but to farm pointless valor ranks after 60. Need either Ranked Warzones or an Arena type. or PvP in this game will go nowhere
  5. I cannot believe this has not been fixed yet. How hard can it be to modify the Rakata weapons, my guildmaster even sent them reports of this in the BETA TESTING, so over 8 weeks of NOTHING. how can it take EIGHT WEEKS or more to change out the mods and hilts in the frikken weapons? jesus christ
  6. you seriously didnt see this coming? a class being able to take 80-100% of your hp in a stunlock over 4-5 seconds is not balanced.
  7. This has been brought up several times, The answer is the same = 16man is alot harder than 8man as a whole, the damage and health scaling of the bosses abilities.
  8. I support this idea, if you dont want to force dmg meters on everyone atleast give us practice dummies and a statistic way of seeing your dps if you so wish.
  9. Congratulations =) I hope we're there soon aswell /Glory Haters gonna hate at these posts, KP new bosses are actually somewhat of a challenge compared to EV.
  10. Well, we are around 16.5-18k around that area with most of us being 17k+ but the ability seems to hit twice once for 10k followed by a 13k hit. Edit: we only got 1 gunslinger for the 20% dmg reduction shield... maybe that has something to do with our surviability ;p
  11. Yeah, thats what we are doing at the moment also, guess we just gotta get that perfect try. Seems the ability is just overtuned for 16man. Thanks for the help and good luck with Karagga.
  12. grats on the progress millenium. any hint of how to deal with the 1shot snipe ability Jarg seem to do on the second boss? so close to downing him but its getting annoying ;X
  13. South South South North Thats how you solve the rowes, my guild was stuck on the "wheel locking" for awhile aswell until we started using this. It works every damn time. The encounter has 2 bugs from what ive seen. 1. Does not reset properly. 2. It can bug when the consoles are being lit up and clickable and you get the debuff but nothing happens, the symbols does not move.
  14. Thats it, canceled my sub - roll back on the valor by people that took extreme advantage of this and you can have the sub back, bioware.
  15. What is this bioware?????????????????? How can you let the morons that took advantage of this to let them actually keep the ranks they are getting? Alot of people spent weeks to get valor 60 and you just hand them 10-40 valor ranks in one day and you let them keep it? ???????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????
