  1. Oddly, I (male) dress my female characters in full gear whilst my GF's characters wear revealing stuff - go figure.
  2. It seems that many people have had a break from the game - we all did too! Well, some of us are back! And we want to get our guild going again - so, if you're new to the game or a returning player, and you don't fancy vanishing into a huge established guild, drop us a line!
  3. And today, SEVEN YEARS LATER! It's bugged again!
  4. OK - pulling up an old thread here... Returning player here - excited to find that there's a new equipment level! Seems that I only ever get greens though.... NOPE! The new level's colour code is *EXACTLY* the colour that green looks like if you're red/green colour blind - you actually couldn't have chosen a closer match if you'd tried! Now 1 in 10 human males have defective colour vision so some extent - and the most common form is red/green (50%) - which actually means that 1 in 20 males - 5% - will have this defect to some extent... I seem to remember, in 2012, that BW said that putting a colour-blind option in was "top of their list" - so, seven years later, will this appear soon?
  5. They say that they all get read - it would be useful to have a "read by XYZ or 99/99/9999" flag.
  6. You know, if this game does fold, I wonder what Disney will say about it when EA comes to them wanting to licence some other Star Wars title...
  7. Fine - casual, "hardcore" (as you call it), pvp, pve, pvxyz - whatever - just so 1) it works and 2) there's new content coming out on a regular basis! not 30 minutes of single thread story every 2 months!
  8. I'm not surprised at all - from what has been said, they gave everyone the holiday period off (which, I guess they needed to - after cutting the development team to the bone, they must have just about killed them getting 4.0 out). I reckon that there's about 3 people left - just enough to look after the servers - I don't think that there's anyone left to look at the forums.
  9. So - after thinking long and hard about it, I've cancelled as well - hopefully I'll be back if content starts to appear again (although I managed to cancel just *after* the month's payment went out )
  10. When people complain about players wanting "end game content" they assume raids etc, but this is only part of it. Picking a number out of the air, say that it takes a player a year to end up with one of each of the advanced classes at top level (whatever that may be at the time) and to have pretty much covered everything that the game offers (there will be "completionists" that will spend another year getting absolutely everything, but I'm talking about your "standard average player" here). OK, so, it's a year later and a bunch of players are now looking around to see what they can do, but the publisher has decided that they're not going to put any new content in - what happens to those players? Some will continue to rerun the content (because of friends still playing or because they enjoyed the experience and want to rerun bits) but a large number will say "OK, well, done all of that - think that I'll find something else to do"... From the publishers point of view, whilst it's true that they want to attract new players, they also need to retain a high percentage of the old ones - and to do this, they need to continually release "new content". 4.0 is "new content", granted - it's not "end game", and that (as far as it goes) is fine - BUT - (in my view) 4.0 has very little "replayability" - I've done the story on three characters now - the third time almost broke my space bar! I have 22 characters - 3 are 65 having gone through 4.0 - 4 more I have just levelled - which leaves 15 more to go - and (probably) none of them will go through 4.0 - I've seen the story and tried a few different options - as far as I can see no choices that I made had any difference on the outcome and I very rarely read a book and then re-read it straight away. The upshot is that 4.0 is fine, as far as it goes, but it really only held peoples attention for a couple of months - our guild had two people on tonight - there was meant to be an operation... New operations/flashpoints/warzones etc etc *are* more replayable - they don't have to be "end game" either (although, traditionally, they always have been) - if you want to release a new chapter in the story and you want to keep people playing, then we need the class stories back as part of the 4.0 story arc - then you would have people running through 4.0 over and over to see the various versions of the story - I ran 4.0 on my main Republic character and my main Imperial character - there's not even a difference between the factions!
  11. We've got a lot of non-mmo types that have come into the game because of the film. BW/EA has let them have level 60 characters, if they want - and (with the level sync) access to instances that they're not ready for. It's not the players' fault really. Just wish that they'd listen.
  12. I've given up trying to be "helpful" - like tonight - me on my 65th commando DPS in a random tactical - which, unfortunately turned out to be an old instance not designed to be a tactical. "right, who's not been here?" "me" (a DPS), "me" (a second DPS), "me" (the third DPS) - ("oh good" thinks I). We move towards a reasonable size group containing a champion, 4 strongs and a bunch of trash - "OK, here's what we do..." - at this point, two "would be Luke Sywalkers" jump into the middle of a large group - and die - as do, shortly afterwards, the poor 17th level that was waiting for an explanation and myself. This happened twice. The 17th level and myself quit the group - I get a whisper along the lines of "hey - where'd you go - chill dude!" - at which point I put him on ignore. The 17th level was new to the game - do you think that he/she enjoyed herself tonight? Those Kolto tanks are only at the bosses - and the "level sync" doesn't work too well. That 17th level spent their time running. As soon as we aggroed any group - anything not being actively engaged (all DPS - no taunts) ran straight at her. Talking to people in my guild, they all say the same - "oh yeah, it's been like that since 4.0 - the tacticals are full of people that don't know how to play the game, their class or the instance". One of them said that he turned off party chat after saying "hi" - if the group knew what it was doing - fine - otherwise he'd just quit and put them on ignore, because "I've tried to explain - I've tried to help - they won't listen - they all think that they're heroes from the film".
