  1. I also recommend moving your move set over by at least one (depending on range of your fingers) -- you will have access to more keys once you get used to it. Try to adapt your thumb to use more than just space bar too. (E.g. N, M, maybe even H and J.) Think "piano" more than "guitar"
  2. Thanks, Captain! Yes, but for some of us, specific life situations dictate we play on something portable. (Speaking for myself). I think everyone/most everyone knows you inherently take a hit but the OP was asking what might be the best possible in that situation. If I could play on a desktop, um, yes, of course I would....
  3. Figure out what you want to craft when you are finished leveling, grab the two gathering skills that compliment that and make your third one Slicing. E.g. I plan to go Biochem at 50 so I have Diplomacy and Bioanalysis, with Slicing. I am 46 and have 2 mil+ (not sure how much I have spent), but I hold all the crafting materials since I plan to drop Slicing and switch to Biochem at 50. The only things I have sold were the Augments and Crafting Missions I get from Slicing. If I wanted only to make money, perhaps there are better gathering ones than those, but my goal is twofold: money and gather mats for my eventual crafting prof. Diplomacy is good for the Companion Gifts and Dark or Light Side points if that is something you would like to enhance. I would also consider the advice of the person above about looking to see what sells on your server, but that can also be a constantly shifting type of thing depending on changing demand in a changing MMO.
  4. You can also have your companion go off and sell all your gray items. Right click on the companion portrait at lower left for the option.
  5. I was 7 and feel the same about the above. Unless there is some kind of "holo deck" thing that comes along (sorry for the Trek reference ) I feel like our generation was the only one lucky enough to have the full impact of what Star Wars was in its time. I also think this accounts for all the Episode 1-3 hate. If Episode 1 had released in '77 it would have had a much different reception. It's largely because people want to re-experience the '77 release and the first time they saw a Star Wars that nothing following CAN ever match up. It's like how many "firsts" in life will always be the best....just part of the human condition.
  6. This. Aren't they almost always crap you would find in a souvenir shop in some crap-town on vacation?
  7. Some great fathering there. My son is 8 and is really into the Clone Wars cartoon, and, to some disappointment, prefers Ep 1 to most of the others. BUT, I figure anything Star Wars is BETTER than most of the other crap out there. I wanted to share a link I saw a while ago about another great Star Wars dad -- really good stuff: http://anthonyherreradesigns.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=53:this-is-what-happens-when-your-dads-a-graphic-designer-ewoks&catid=34:anthonydesign-blog
  8. Probably not. But it's the combination of it being Star Wars + Bioware + EA (funding) that got me interested, not just the Star Wars element.
  9. I love how angry the defenders get. My point was that the game was not as great as everyone wants to try to remember it or build it up. It had major flaws and was largely considered unfinished by many -- much the way some of these same people rag on SWtOR for being unfinished. But this is largely arguing something that is largely subjective. I enjoyed the game for a while but then it became a painfully boring grindfest when everyone got sucked in to the whole Jedi unlock grind -- as mentioned by the poster above. It was tough not to get sucked into that because no one wants to devote their time to playing a non-Jedi character that could only be mediocre once everyone else was a Jedi. The game had some really great elements (crafting, player economy, player bounty) but the game was not "all that" -- it was good but not great. If it was great there would be no need for SWtOR. Essentially, this is like arguing about what song is the better song, etc. My only point is that the bulk of activity on SWG died fairly quickly -- WoW and the insanely huge changes they made killed it. I played for a year after it was released and it feels like it was dying already then with the exception of a minority of die-hards that held on to the end, but they were a limited number.
  10. I remember how player housing completely trashed massive areas of many planet's landscapes. ...grinding skill boxes forever to get to the top only to be nerfed. ...waiting for a shuttle every time I needed to go to another planet, then having to take another shuttle after waiting cause I couldn't go directly to a specific planet (pre-JTL) ...getting decimated in PVP cause I had a job and a wife and kid and could not play 12 hours a day to grind cash or mats for decent gear. ...doing quests that were even less unique and interesting than WoW ...not doing any battlegrounds/WZ ...not doing any instances/dungeons/Flashpoints ...not being able to craft anything decent due to the above job and family so not being able to acquire cash or resources cause I couldn't play 12 hours a day to grind it ...long loading screens ...not having any alts ...not bothering using an AH/GTN cause nothing valuable was listed due to price cap (?) ...finding an awesome player crafter selling stuff then getting there and not having enough credits to buy anything due to above job/wife/kid lack of 12 hour/day play ...PVP zones that had nothing in them...not even "P's" ...three or four interesting mobs (Krayt Dragons, Night Sisters....make that two. OK, OK, unfair, I am sure there were more...) ...grinding faction points forever to finally get an AT-ST only to have it perma-deathed within a few days by elite 12 hour/day player with uber gear.
  11. On the higher pop servers there are plenty of kids to play with. I.e. "high" pop is just enough. So low pop's probably are too low....
  12. As stiff as toys And tall as men And swaying like the wind torn trees She talked about the empty world With eyes like poison birds She talked about the armies That marched inside her head And how they made her dreams go bad But oh how happy she was How proud she was To be fighting in the war In the empty world
  13. I used the Sith Inquisitor equivalent (Overload) to knock a player into the Sarlacc Pit last night. It was so deeply satisfying, I can't even begin to tell you about said depth...
