  1. I haven't played since my original post. My subscription still has some time to run before it expires. Devs, there are many suggestions here that will fix this issue so that the people here will be happy. Get on that already - it's been 3 months already! The previous poster has a very god point. It is very late game to be adding this kind of mechanic. I'm sure the idea was giving the players something more to grind for and therefore spend more time in-game. Instead you've alienated a great many. Smooth.
  2. Yes. This. This way the player decides how much challenge they face. I was really happy before the nerf, and it's not back even close to that level. It's slightly improved. but it's not enjoyable.
  3. Ok, so .. 1. You realised we had be playing differently within the new expansion AFTER you deployed the patch? Why after? Should you not be apprised of something so rudimentary prior to? Besides. to those of us playing it, it wasn't emergent gameplay - it was what we needed to do within the game to gear up - and was therefore designed this way by you to begin with. Your statement feels and sounds like utter BS to me - sorry. 2. You say patch 4.02a increased Companion Healing by 42 -> 61% for the various heal types. Well, I just watched my Companion who has 30k hp, heal herself 3 times in a row (yes, repeated casts, not a HoT) for 263hp each, shortly before dying myself because my Companion on tank spec, cannot hold the attention of more than 1 mob! Aftter 4.0 I was completely addicted to playing this game on my sorcerer. Now, I'd rather play something else. Because now, it's back to the stop / start gameplay where post combat (if I survived at all) I would have to stand around healing up for 15 seconds. From now on, I will pop in after each maintenance to see if you've fixed it, but only because I am only 1 month in on a 3 month subscription. I'm pretty steamed that I subscribed during a time when I thought the game had finally become casual friendly, only to be betrayed shortly there after.
  4. Well that is optimistic at best. I'm a squishy class who needs a tank capable of holding the attention of more than 1 mob at a time. Just 2 silvers on me at once and I'm dead before I can get them to 3/4 of their health, and my companion hasn't even noticed yet. *** BW?!?!? My first time back after the 4.02a patch and I'm still completely dissatisfied with the result.
  5. 2 toons with most experience with 4.02 Toon 1 Your level: 65 Roughly Average Item Rating: All 208 (vendor) with a 216 weapon (crafted) Discipline: Sith Sorcerer - Lightening Companion: blonde or brunette gals Companion role: Tank, Tank Companion Influence level: blonde = 15, brunette = 12 Which Mission or Star Fortress are you playing (Solo Mode? Heroic Mode?) - Class and Heroic 2+ content - trying to gear up for FP content Your personal experience while playing this content Pre-patch I would occasionally die from stupidity (pulling too many mobs or pulling before the tank or attacking a mob not held by the tank's attention - my fault - no problem) Post-patch tank takes more damage from unavoidable pulls in Heroic 2+ in a level 38-40 area than I can heal her for, dies, and I get rushed by the rest of the pull and die in short order as I cannot heal fast enough, run away fast enough, do damages fast enough before they stomp me - BORING! Rage quit after 3 attempts with the same result trying to change my tactics each time Toon 2 Your level: ~30 Roughly Average Item Rating: Mostly green levelling gear with 2-4 blues from lower level Heroic 2+ reward chests Discipline: Jedi Twin Blade (first time I've ever played republic jedi toon this long) Companion: default female Companion role:Heals Companion Influence level: 5 maybe - not certain Which Mission or Star Fortress are you playing (Solo Mode? Heroic Mode?) - Class and Heroic 2+ content - trying to finish class story and get to max level aiming to solo content FPs at that time Your personal experience while playing this content Pre-patch Died once or twice from non-responsive Companionism, but when she was on, with care I could jump into the melee pulls with 2 elites and 4 other mobs on me and survive the fight if only just with her healing me back immediately after so I could move on to the next pull immediately with little or no interuption to the flow of my game play - perfect! Post-patch If the companion pulled anything they're just dead. I will last a little longer but I cannot heal myself enough with medpacks (nor do I wish to spam them if I did have a short cool down on them - why else would I be offered a healing companion?) BORING! If only I pulled the agro and the healer actually healed in a normal pull of a Heroic 2+ we would both barely survive each pull which made the entire thing take a much longer time, be a much less enjoyable, and much more tedious experience - please note a didn't say more difficult! I still won the fight, but I had to stand around for 15 seconds after each encounter healing, and then repeating the process. I am very angry and disappointed with this change. I am a founder who was driven away by exactly this kind of thing previously. I thought, oh yeah I'll give it another try - maybe it's better - and it was - it was awesome! I was loving every bit of it! I even started playing republic characters seriously after previously ignoring the completely! And only 5 weeks later you patched it back to the way it was when I left before. Thanks a bunch. THAT's my experience with this patch. FIX IT for heaven's sake. You've had 2 chances with me and blown them. Fixing this is your last chance at redemption with me, because I will never come back.
  6. I have not played since first experiencing patch 4.02. I already paid for 3 months (of which close to 2 remain). I want to continue to play because I was really enjoying (finally) being able to experience a lot more of the content on my own (which is what I want ) which is why I am commenting - to voice my dismay at the state of the game - lured here with story and companions that did the job I asked of them (actually tanked reasonably well or heal when needed) and now dumped in a meat grinder where my frustration lead to an immediate rage quit. Link to my rage quit rant - it's brief and to the point here
  7. Same. Then they nerfed the usefulness for any role out of them - now where are we left?
  8. Yup Dev response would be warranted for all of the upset. If the response is anything other than "oops mybad, I pressed the wrong button" or "You can wake up now! You're nightmare is over and things are back as they were!" I'not going to be back.
  9. Exactly. Particularly noticeable in the squishy ranged classes, because once your tank inevitably dies, all you can do it run, and you don't get far before they catch and smash you. No fun at all.
  10. This is precisely what I want to be able to solo everything except operations and world bosses - I would expect FlashPoints to kill me a few times before I succeed. It was great fun for me pre-4.02 - I've not played since experienced the effects of the nerf - I want to come back, but I will not do so until this is changed! It just isn't fun anymore. Good going BW - kept me entertained for almost 5 weeks. I'd been gone for 2 years - I was a Founder!
  11. I agree. Reverse the nerf is what I want or I won't be going back to the game. For those who want more challenging experiences, they can go to higher difficulty tiers in the game. Perhaps BW would consider offering a range of debuffs on entrance to player scenarios to offer different levels of challenge - somewhat analogous to what PoE (Path of Exile) offers. Titles and Achievements for doing these things would be great. I don' really know what kind of reward other than that would be appriate / accepted by those doing these things - it would not be me.
  12. I liked the idea when I read it, and I would certainly use it, but I'd never turn if off, even if I could cope with the content without it (which I probably couldn't - I'm not very good) - pre-4.02 was as close to perfect as I would want. Higher level Heroics still gave me a challenge because my tank could not hold the agro of more than 1 elite mob at a time if I wasn't careful in how I attacked them. I walked solo into a flashpoint that was higher level than my toon by 10 levels. It scaled me up, and I still felt the ownage very quickly, my apparently op companion was still dead, and so was my squishy sorcerer self shortly after. Now I knew where to look if I wanted a deadly challenge.
  13. I totally agree also - reverse the nerf or I won't be back - only been back since start of FE - rage quit in disgust when my tank couldn't stay alive and my healer couldn't heal me enough. Nice move for customer retention BW.
