  1. That makes sense, thanks for clearing that up. I do still worry that this will just make the big guild domination easier in some ways. Will have to see after it launches though. I am curious if you had thought of a system to restrict the 'easier' planets. Maybe the more you win you go up a system that will at some point block you from certain planets. But you will also go down in time if you loose/don't do it, just in case your guild drops heavily in players. Either way, great work and I am looking forward to the changes.
  2. I am a little confused by exactly what this change will mean. Will it basically be that each planet will be good for a certain size guild? If that is the case, I am curious why it is completely optional. Like I agree that a guild should be able to say "I'm tiny but strong" and compete against bigger guilds, but if bigger guilds can do less for the same reward it is just going to be abused. I am curious how this will be addressed?
  3. What elephant? We were told 7 days ago that they were finalizing it http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=9534069#edit9534069 Its a waste of time for Bioware to keep responding saying "yes, we are still releasing it mid February"
  4. I have to second this. With only scroll wheel being usable this is a major issue for: -Anyone with a broken scroll wheel -Anyone using a laptop (since many trackpads scroll differently -Anyone using a trackball, since those often don't have a scrollwheel -Anyone who tends to remote into their computer when at work for guild management/gtn/ or whatever
  5. 1. Do we actually know for sure they don't already run the servers on Linux? 2. What does the OS they are using matter to you? The OS they use server side has no relation to client side OS. If you didn't realize most website you visit are probably hosted on a Linux server, even though you are likely browsing on Windows or Mac. If this is seriously a discussion about client side versions. They would be better off sooner creating a Mac port than a Linux port due to the complexities of major differences in Distros and that Linux more often than not is either on servers or in terminals. Not run on computers with a lot of graphical capabilities. However again, in both cases the server side OS has absolutely no relation to the client side OS
  6. Like most services that allow you to pay to change your name. (Most MMO's, Xbox Live, etc) You are not really paying for the server resources required for this. The cost is there to discourage you from constantly changing your name for no reason. For you to actually think about when you do it, since this is the name that others knows you as. Sure Bioware is making money off of it, but discouraging people from constantly changing their name is also a good thing.
  7. As a software developer thank you for admitting you don't know much about the world of coding and not assuming things. There lies the problem, most people don't know anything about coding. How release pipelines work in a product like this. But people will be quick to turn into armchair developers claiming something is easy or thinking developers are gods that everything is somehow perfect or they are slacking off.
  8. People wonder why Bioware has had issues communicating in the past. Well this thread right here is a great example of why. Criticizing them for bugs that don't currently exist for an unreleased patch and delaying a patch because they found a bug that needs to be fixed.
  9. I don't think it has been an issue, they will most likely always go through phases of lots of open discussion and then heads down development work internally. Like right now considering we are getting a major patch next Tuesday, they are probably wrapping that up. Combine that with the continued server issues this last week they are probably more focused on the internal stuff right now. Based on how communication has gone I expect it to pick back up after the patch hits, around that time we should get a roadmap also.
  10. I am confused here. In Eric's post it was specifically said: But now your post talks about being a reduced price. This gives the impression (or maybe an opening for the future depending on how things go) that there is a full price that people can pay in credits or CC if they don't want to do the flashpoints? I am really excited about there being stuff locked behind actually playing the game though, just a little confused about the terminology here.
  11. There is really no such thing as "easing" into Maintence mode. When its in Maintence mode it will be, they are not going to plan to go into Maintence mode now. If they were they would just cut all development and stop spending money. Also thats just insulting to hard working developers that are trying to make the best of their current situation. Believe it or not most Developers actually give a **** about what they are working on and the issues are farther up the chain.
  12. Found the article here mentioning that http://www.swtor.com/info/news/news-article/20170718 So some sort of comment would still be nice
  13. While I am not complaining, I got a ton of levels the last 2 days. It would be nice to get an official announcement on wether or not this is intended.
  14. Most people probably, its a purely cosmetic change that I doubt many people change that often. The ones I can see doing it the most would be RP. However if you are a subscriber its also very cheap. 40CC to change your hair style 40CC to change your hair color So with your subscriber grant every month you can do one of the above 12 times in a month and still have 20 left over Or if you want to change both 6 times and have 10 left over Add another 1 or 2 times if you add the 100CC from the security key, and some additional if you add the extra CC you get for paying for more than 1 month. Considering in the smallest bundle 450CC is only about $5 USD, buying more changes in a month is very cheap if you are really changing that often. Edit: Since Eye Color was mentioned right as I posted this. That is only 20CC to change, even less than your hair.
