  1. If you hit 50 and did this stuff when it was still the level cap then you did it before the achievements system was introduced. I know that some things were awarded retroactively, as the first time i logged in a got a whole bunch of messages and cartel coins from them, but it is possible that story progression achievements are not one of those things. Achievements for having done operations and daily areas and stuff are definitely not awarded retroactively. They added the Czerka achievements a week or two after putting in that daily area and i hammered it with all my chars for full reputation in that time and then got boned on achievements and had to do it all again.
  2. So as it stands right now, you can only see 4 debuffs on a group members in the ops frame. I noticed on DP council that there is an irritating situation that comes up where cleanses need to be done and between Bloodthirst's debuff, the combat res debuff, sovereignty debuff and a sorc/sage shield debuff there is no room to see the skull/mummy/whatever that needs to be cleansed. Far from impossible to deal with, i know. And really the number of times that the situation comes up is not so huge at the moment as its that extra debuff from sovereignty that really makes it a problem. In the 3.0 expansion though i have seen in the disciplines stream that multiple classes will be getting bloodthirst-like group buffs for other things, and i would assume that these also come with a cooldown and some kind of debuff just like bloodthirst. So does it seem as though healing from looking at the ops frame alone is going to be made impossible in some situations? If 3 characters all use their different group utilities and there is a sorc/sage shield or someone has been combat ressed, will seeing that someone has a cleansable DoT be impossible without clicking on them to see their full bar? Is all of this moot because they are changing cleanses and rejigging ops so that cleansing of DoTs is no longer a factor? (I didnt quite catch what they said about no more cleansing and what that actually means for the game) Or am i wrong and there is a way to see more than 4 debuffs? I felt pretty sure there wasnt when i started writing this but now i am at the end i have suddenly started doubting myself ;P
  3. At 800k you are still well below the statistical average which is something like 2.3m to get a rancor jackpot. Good luck and dont feel bad yet I am one of the unfortunate people with bad luck that balances out the people getting a rancor after 400k or so, or even getting 3 of them within 1m spent on smuggler tokens. It took me more than 8m with the same method as you. I have 10 vectors that i dont really like, 200+ certificates for a vendor i barely want anything from, i exploded 3 or 4 machines, but eventually i got the rancor. I cant honestly say that i think the experience was worth it, it just got caught in the classic gambling stupidity of feeling that i had invested so much already that it would have been a waste if i didnt get to the prize! But, that said, i dont think they should put the rancor on the vendor for any amount of certificates. If you want a set price for a rancor with no uncertainty then you have the option of buying one from the gtn. Trading in a certificate for tokens would have been nice though.
  4. Hi, Today after reset on The Red Eclipse we got a 16 man group together to go and do TC, however when we got in there were few isotope containers and the boss only had about 4m HP. We were confused since we had 16 people in the instance so we knew it wasnt 8 man, so we went out, reset, made sure it was set to 16m HM and went back in... still the same. Reset to all different modes and went in to check each time and it was always exactly the same HP on boss, always the same low number of isotope containers. Eventually we went ahead and did it (with the group setting on 16m SM) and when the boss went down we were locked out for 8 man HM, a bunch of people also got the achievement for 8m HM, and we got the rewards corresponding to 8 man HM. Despite the lockout being in HM, when we tried to set the instance to SM for which none of us were locked, we could not do it a second time with a different difficulty setting. Each time there is just a dead Golden Fury waiting on the other side no matter what the phase is set for (exept nightmare obviously)

  6. I have had this on my mind too because as much as i would like to spend my time on my ship (until now, our "homes"), especially after spending the millions of credits on all the unlocks that mean you have all the utilities and comforts... if i want to find a group to do anything i have to be on fleet. The loading times between fleet and ship are such that my GTN terminal etc etc on the ship just go to waste and i only really go there to use the dummy. All the grouping is being done on fleet so i may as well just stay to use the GTN there too. If the dummies in fleet were customisable then i would probably never go to my ship. I dont want that to happen with strongholds. I want to be able to chill there and still know when things are happening! I would really really really reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeallly like there to be a common chat channel there (not necessarily shared with fleet, just among all strongholds) so that when a group is forming we can advertise in fleet chat and also in stronghold chat and reach everyone with relative simplicity. Otherwise people are still going to just sit on fleet en masse so they can get a group.
  7. i don't think that you have it quite right. The conquest notice that has been posted doesnt say that there is any advantage to being "first on the ground." What a guild achieves in a week counts towards some kind of guild leaderboard and although being first in might put you up there for a short time if it is updates in realtime or even on a hourly/daily basis, i doubt it will have meaning until the end of the week. Except short term bragging rights that will probably be shown to be meaningless within a few days. With something like 3 or 4 operations a year being released the amount of time that this situation is relevant seems very small anyway. Also, if your guild and others like it are that competetive about finishing content first then surely you would be focusing into it pretty heavily at the expense of everything else and would be hammering it for days until it is done, no? Outside of that small timeframe of a week or two, 3 or 4 times a year I cant see the issue to be honest. (Though if all it takes is BW to change a line of code or two and voila separate resets then i have no objection)
  8. Some people here have addressed this from a SW canon point of view, and really in a magical universe anything goes so why not black core. Speaking from an actual real life point of view you may be more satisfied by knowing that darkness is a fundamental feature of light due to its wave properties. When two photons or beams of light intersect, depending on their relative phases, interference between the wave packets can cause either: light, dark, or interference fringes of alternating light and dark: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interference_%28wave_propagation%29 My own area of expertise happens to be in propagation of light with orbital angular momentum, which requires a cylindrical beam (sound familiar) which has a phase singularity (a jump from a phase of 0 to 2pi) across the centre of the beam that results in the intensity at that point being zero (black core) due to various physical laws: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optical_vortex So basically although electromagnetic energy may exist at a point, it may not be visible due to overlapping EM fields, or the light may exist in a vortex around the dark core. If you dont like the look then that is fair enough, but i can assure you that if anything dark core lightsabers are *equally* as fantastical as bright core lightsabers.
  9. I dont say it out loud very often, but in my head it is SUH-WUH-TORE When i do say it out loud i tend to call it The Old Republic
  10. I have just logged in to check my settings and i am almost 100% certain that it is "ops information" in the bottom section. I have tabs for general, system info, guild, group/ops, trade and whispers. When rolls are done they do not appear in system/guild/trade/whispers, which all have it turned off. Looking through the combinations of all the other configurations i cannot see anything else that they have in common to make it this way. I do still get a red message for "this item is already being rolled for" in all windows, which i would have thought is turned off with "ops announcement" in the middle section., but it is not. Even whispers which only has, you guessed it, whispers selected. i hope that helps
  11. It really seems as though Mando Raiders is one of the most gear specific HM FPs pre-CZ. Especially that first boss, you can really tell at that point that people are either poorly geared or not familiar enough with their class' rotation to put out good dps. I always check right at the beginning to see what people have. And really it has to be at least blue 66 barrels or hilts for the dps or there is little chance of a good performance. I have tried it a few times with people in 61-63 level gear (usually i am tanking, in 69-72) and i have actually killed the boss on my own in that time before the dps have even taken down the dogs. On one occasion they hadnt even managed to get ONE of the dogs down! You can make it through with some effort and with a good healer it generally is okay from then on (so long as you dont bother with the bonus boss) which always makes me foolishly keep trying wipe after wipe, explaining rotations, and on one occasion going out to fleet to get some cheap blue 66 hilts and bring them back for the dps. Ultimately though, as nice as i try to be in trying to help them learn and even gear up, i always feel as though i have to point out the most obvious key fact of the matter to them. Hoping that they will pay attention to this one fact alone more than anything else i ever say to them. Hoping that they will tell other people similarly geared. Hoping that it will mean the next time i get Mando Raiders (7 times out of 10 btw).... THEY WILL COME TO THE LEVEL 55 FLASHPOINT IN LEVEL 55 GEAR
  12. I think you hit the nail on the head with your last line there... It obviously, literally, means progressing through content. Where the start point is depends on the guild/player and since HM has been out for a while it isnt unreasonable for someone to assume progression raiding means tackling "new" content. But if they bothered to read your ad properly they shouldnt be surprised that you want to have HM down first before you go and do the harder version. Are you selling it as the starting point to ensure you have a cohesive team together before the NiM content is started?
  13. Yes, i didnt see your post here and made one in the bug reports section: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=6488542 It is pretty damn irritating. I suspect it is a consequence of forcing companions to reappear in time for conversations when you start the convo mounted.
  14. Yes, apparently i am not alone. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=654172
