  1. That said, SWG space game really came alive after they nearly broke the game with NGE and a lot of people decided to hang out in space hoping for a rollback. A huge part of that was the PVP aspect, and it was pretty cool: 100 ship battles on saturday nights. So I'm in. But PVE would way cool too, hope they don't cross it off.
  2. Man I miss launching into space, the only sound my R2 unit chirping while I fire up the overloads, chart destination, and go Corvette hunting... For all its flaws, SWG did some kickass things, one was Space. Just like crafting, many people only played the game for that part, never bothered with the ground after they got MAster Pilot, except to buy new goodies for the ship. I don't have any hope that PVE will follow for GS. People mention time and complexity, but really it is CASH. PVP in space is low cost, all of it upfront. Build teh warzone. Done. It would take several orders of magnitude more money to build a decent PVE space universe.
  3. Thanks for the advice! As far as armor, I guess I'm always seeing recommendations of all these acronyms like BiS, or Basic, I have no idea what it means, if it is crafted, loot, why I would want it over the armor I make myself, etc.
  4. Now that winter is rolling in I'm getting back to SWTOR and trying to get a handle on how the class has changed. I was a mostly Arsenal spec, and that still looks good, but what are some good builds (yes I'm reading the stickies but there is a lot there to cover in one day). I'm level 39, mostly solo or occasionally a two man group with a friend of mine, PVE oriented. Given my limited skill points, what should I concentrate on getting first? Are accuracy with a little crit and alacrity the main attributes still? Where is good tutorial on armor, I find it totally confusing, are PVP and PVE stats still different? Any other advice appreciated!
  5. For all its faults Galaxies was one huge sandbox. Player crafted economy. Player built cities. you could spend your entire time in the game never picking up a weapon. From the first moment I logged in I felt like I was in a huge universe of possibility. Maybe too huge since quests weren't nearly as developed as SWTOR and early on you were really left to make the game content yourself sinc ethere was no "main" quest. Still SWTOR feels much smaller, the play more restricted. Like comparing an FPS like COD to an RPG like Oblivion/Skyrim. Galaxies showed what was possible in an MMO, while at the same time serving as a huge warning to how complicated making it all work could be. That probably scared off more developers than it inspired unfortunatly.
  6. Anyone have any feedback on using Insulate I mentioned above?
  7. Nevermind that part about not using Discharge, I thought using would use up the Lightening Charge (and thus the Insulate benefit). Playing just now I see that Lightening Charge always stays up.
  8. Why do none of these builds use Insulate? At least for someone at lower level where we're not using Discharge all the time? Seems like a good low cost boost to survivability with little downside (Lightening Charge (sp?) doesn't seem that useful to my level 12).
  9. I'm still not clear on factions. Can a BH and Jedi group? What can we or can't we do? also what happens if I'm a BH but pick all lightside choices? Also anyone know why I can't make a title in new thread and so can't post new threads?
