  1. I was playing through the Revan story content before embarking on the new stuff and ran across this mission. Kinda disappointed that I won't be able to finish the content, this mission soured me on wasting any more of my time on trying to do the Revan story. I think it was a poor design choice to have the Mandos able to launch you off the ledge, and an even worse decision not to fix it after so long.
  2. Well, complaints and all aside, the cat's out of the bag now. SW:TOR is going Free to Play in the Fall supposedly according to the blurb on the launcher. So cancelling isn't going to have much of an impact.
  3. So if I counted correctly, 111 servers are going to go poof and there will be 12 servers left to service the entire Star Wars community? Wow, that imploded rather dramatically.
  4. What are you? Bioware's lawyer? While they might not have explicitly said some things, or implicitly meant somethings. Wouldn't it had been a lot easier, and better, if they explained everything from the very start? Both the good and bad so that all the community knew exactly what was going on. So that every person could make their own choice on whether they wanted to stay or go. Though I imagine, if that were the case, they would not have been able to get those few extra bucks from people that lingered hoping that things would change or their situation would improve. So is tonight the big move? All the stragglers should log on to your old dead servers on last time and say hi and bye to your fellow holdouts.
  5. If they wanted to satisfy some players and allow them to transfer to more populated servers, then they should have done it through customer service and on a case by case basis. Instead they chose to open the flood gates and for 6-10 servers worth of people to move to the same damn destination. I imagine someone thought it would be a good idea to be able to turn off all those servers "nobody" was using. Well, I'm one of the few holdouts on my server, I came too late to the party and figured if I am stuck losing my name anyway, they are going to have to move me their damn selves. My names are being held by a few level 20's that apparently don't play anymore, so another few weeks I will be joining them in not playing or giving Bioware any of my money. Did they transfer the Mass Effect 3 team over to run TOR? I mean you can see how awesome they were with ME 3's ending. /sarcasm off
  6. Like many here have already stated, I pre-ordered and started playing in the head start to get my character names, Brand X Y Z, I would have kept trying different servers until they found a home. Fortunately I got the names right away, played 3 characters up to 50, 50, and 46. Now all of a sudden here comes server transfer, which was doled out on a per server basis, so it's not like you had a choice on when or IF you were going to be bitten by the transfer bug. Now here's where the story gets even murkier server transfers are "optional" you can go or you can stay in your happy forest. Little do you know after that announcement they are going to light the forest on fire and evacuate you whether you want it or not, so you can go voluntarily and get a tasteless piece of candy, or get dragged out afterward. Gotta love all the choices. For a company that keeps toting story, story, story, they sure don't give a carp about characters. Ironically perhaps this would not have been such a big issue if there was more than just one destination server, at least there would have been the illusion of more choice and who knows, perhaps some people would NOT have needed to change their names. None of the people that have my character names have been one ever in all the days I've checked. Also seems that there are 4 West Coast servers vs. 8 East Coast servers, why aren't there more West coast servers that are staying around? Anywho, peanut gallery that doesn't agree, no need to voice your vitriol here, others in the same boat, I feel your pain. 6 Month recurring subscription /cancelled
  7. I was trying not to be completely all gloom and doom Here's your cookie
  8. After not playing a few weeks I came back to find that my guild was gone, 11 servers all got piled into 1, and no surprise most of my character names were not available on the server I would have to transfer to. Also the destination server was borked with a queue and we're out of coffee! 0.o A cookie if you get the reference I have to say I am greatly disappointed, not only in the way the process was done, but that there was no effort made to head off the anger at the character name issues. For a game that is all about story, story, story, apparently the developers forgot that if story is important to someone they probably would not want to suddenly have to change out their character's name or misspell it. I hope that at some point they will make changes in the character transfer and perhaps allow you more options on where to transfer to, or allow people to transfer back if they so wish. Until something else happens, Mask of Nihilus was a nice server, and we have a great deal of space at present, come on down and claim your names and space now!
  9. I don't know how Bioware thought sending 11 servers worth of people to one was a good idea. I hadn't been playing for a few weeks but had no complaints about my servers population prior to this, now since everyone seems to have thought our server was getting eliminated it's turned into a ghost town. Like most other people posting here my names are taken on the destination server, I don't plan on leaving if it means losing my character names, but what was the point of making 12 servers be full or have a queue when you have another 20 that are light all the time? Horrible planning Bioware! If you were looking to even out the population you went about it all wrong!
  10. I really hope this queue issue can be resolved soon, I have not had it as bad as some people that have angrily posted. Then again I have been lucky and actually mostly been able to play, longest queue I had was like a 30 minute wait, which in my opinion is still way too long, I haven't had to worry about queues in an online game since EverQuest, but don't think you should have to wait longer than 5 minutes either. Here's hoping for the best!
