  1. Everything costs money.. o.o as far as paying to 'remove' something seems odd though i always assumed that maybe you're paying some one else to do it for you -.- 'remotely' /shrugs/ atleast my personal explanation for it.. maybe the companion(s) did it for you and you paid them ..o.o i don't mind money sinks though if the GTN's had more business to them (my server usually has nothing when i check not sure if i use the system incorrectly and it just doesn't show any thing or not o.o) player driven economics would be nice buy/sell/trade Armour through the GTN instead of at NPC would remove the 'sink' so to speak for the most part . the only sink i see remaining would be Speeders and ship parts o.o since to my knowledge everythign else can be crafted . though getting credits doesn't seem that hard to me ... though i think it'd be nice to have a trade/barter skill to get the NPC to give you more <.< I pay 4,000 and to sell it at best i get 200 <.< would solve the issue people seem to have with making credits the most i've had at any given time is 45,000 and thats mostly from quests and not spending any on anything. though i think some things should cost more, primarily things like blasters , sense i don't see anyone in the galaxy selling a blaster for 500 credits o.o to my knowledge that's not a very large amount.. and i assume it costs more then that for each one made in a factory, hm..i think buying the material would cost more then that if there was a crafting resource selling droid/npc .. though would be nice.. perhaps add limits to everything npc's have to buy and sell, give more reasons to use the GTN , perhaps add fluctuating prices. add in 'traders' -legit non-smugglers. since some people would like it though that requires more areas on maps o.o more places to trade at as far as story the Trader story could simply to become wealthy as opposed to save , or conqueor the universe . perhaps a supply/demand system works better then a stagnate fixed price system.
  2. Also want - would be nice if i could sent a teamate-edit cremember- to deal with a 'quest' that i don't wanna do.. i mostly wanna do the main story line(s) any 'conversations' that take place during the quest you could simply be holo'commed into the conversation when they need you. you could pair you companions up to do tasks. if they 'die' on the quest its considered a 'failure' and you get a message from the person who gave the quest demanding some form of compensation o.o this applies especially to /gray/ outdated/outleveled quests. that have no benefit other then getting to experience the story.
  3. My wants.. Pazaak Gambling with NPC, and players - companions would be nice getting to know them over cards. Swoop Racing with NPC, and players - see above comment. Real time travel through space even if the only window is on the bridge <.< the ability to assign tasks to team members. the ability to move in formation with your 'crew' member by setting things like advance and cover , - you move to a defensive location and 'wave' your crew mate up. would be nice add a sense of tactical realism to it, and telling my companion where to 'go' before the fighting occurs would be nice.. Ranged companion - take cover behind the crate and support me , or something of the like. the way companions follow like.. they wanna stab you , they stare at you constantly except when fighting. or walking in front of you and then they walk to close -.- sometimes glitch and walk /through/ you -.- Transitional doors - to help increase frame rate, and reduce area lags. - transitional doors are basically.. a current game example would be the green/red/purple barriers. which for the most part seal off any area you can't access. which reduces the amount of drawing that occurs in the area you're in, and reduces the number of generated NPC . there are /alot/ of areas in game that need doors to seal them off to help increase FPS, and reduce lag. one of the hospital areas on Taris for me lagged /alot/ compared to the rest of the planet it alone needed doors. also doors are good aesthetics. perhaps with labels on them that make it easier to find buildings without having to relay on the map and mini-maps . the ability to rename my companion would be nice. and the ability to 'refuse' someone to be my companion would also be nice.
  4. 'Great' , and 'Worse' are relative to taste, I wouldn't say ToR is the 'Best' but its far from the 'worst' the number of people involved do not make things any better or worse.. Chess is a good game, compared to checkers - checkers sucks . considerably more people play, checkers, and are willing to play checkers then Chess .. doesn't make checkers the better game. that of course is my opinion . there different games with different rules, and designed for different tastes.. dislike ketchup, like mustard. they have the same purpose different tastes . i like ToR , never played WoW even if its just the 'theme' that makes them different ToR seems better. though ToR costs to much , most of the people i try to get to play won't play because it costs to much compared to others , 60-70$ + sub (30-50$ is an average for most games, i got my copy of ToR for 40$ though it was at a discount) where other games like Eve Online you don't have to pay for the software(anymore) you just have to download it and pay the monthly. (atleast i don't think you do anymore) WoW lets you play to lvl 20 for free now which gives people a taste and allows them to decide if they 'like it' and i assume you just have to pay the monthly to play the basic . but even with buying you actually get to 'try' first.. SW-ToR's trial ... requires a friend invite, which is 7 days - takes a full day to download so its closer to 6 days - that's assuming you have a good connection. the Weekend trial is(if they still have it) 2 days which.. 1 day to try really ? it takes most people 1 day.. just to get in game, learn what to do , get a feel for the area controls interface, with the amount of dialogue you're lucky to get off the starting planet at the end of day 1 and that is not enough to experience the game in the least. 6 days is time to experience the game but isn't really long enough to make any friends , though its more then enough to reach lvl 15 which .. prevents you from leaving Coruscant which..kinda is bland , you can't enter the ship to see it. and you barely get to know your companion o.o so..generally.. theres not enough time atleast imo for people to 'decide' they like the game. the rest of the stuff buggs, low pops, etc to me aren't that big of an issue (there are several bugs i don't like that annoy me mostly from an Aesthetic point of view) but the numbers doesn't make WoW better. or any MMO better. the issue is the expected the Star Wars fans (millions of them) to be willing to pay for the game, register and live their 'own star wars legacy' and well .. the majority of those fans don't wanna spend /alot/ of money on a MMO . the gamers who do, and the fans who do. have high expectations . and all the negative posts like on the forum don't help. the voice acting, alone makes ToR unique. (despite the fact they seem to lack emotions in the voices) ToR is a 'good' game in the sense that its new and has a good story, and the character customization isn't bad. generally the game could be 'better' and they're working on it. so is it a 'great' game, maybe not, Good definitely.
  5. from my understanding, from various readings, its wasn't released 'completed' though technically MMO's are never /complete/ since there primary benefit is the constant adding of new content, stories, and area's over the years when they're at a point that 'bugs' and various other issues are reduced to the point that noone notices them that much anymore. it'll slowly take its own path as they fix all the bugs, and start releasing more aspects into the game. i don't consider it a re-hash though i've never played WoW so i can't really say how similar they' are or aren't. hm, though typically speaking its because game design classes and courses tell people what 'works' and what doesn't and most companies do away with orginality and creativity, in the name of profit. which originality and innovativeness tend to possess some what more risk then designing a game that has the same concepts and themes as another successful game does. though i imagine in a few years ToR will be its on unique aspect though it is extremely difficult to be truly original anymore. since almost everything that can be done with modern tech has been done.
  6. the only real way to make cross server zones occur would , probably to add zones in space you cross to move to the next sector, though in that case..each planet/section of space would end up having to be its own zone. other wise you'd constantly cross into identical universes which -.- alternate realities can become annoying. there are games that have done so in the past, it mostly depends on the team , and i assume the engine would play a role in it. it would be a decent solution but, considering there are more servers then planets, and space battle areas they'd still have to reduce the number of servers , though they could reduce the number of servers and make them into 6 or 7 seperate servers each with their own planet, which switching planets or zones would take somewhat longer load times as the server(s) transfer your data to a new one, all though as it stands each planet is already its own different area, but technically already a different server. though crossing from Kath Hound to Lord Ardass servers seems silly.. as it stands since you'd be crossing servers to go to the same planets.. flying slowly through space from planet to planet would be nice. atleast imo as long as there were things to do besides walking around the ship waiting. they should just make all the servers into 5 servers, one for each type of play strictly PVP , RP PVP , PVE , RP PVE , Strict RP PVE/PVP - since i like strict RP environments..i'll just add that one as a suggestion. then use all their other servers as an option above to switch between zone with more/less people in them that way you could go to a low populated 'zone' like Coruscant 1 with 10 people, or Coruscant 12 with 200/300 people, however would be nice if the GNT worked regardless of zone. i've yet to find a GNT on my server with items which is the only complaint i have regarding low pops
  7. So..this is mostly a pointless topic o.o So what is everyones pet peeves in games.. personallly i dislike characters being referred to as 'Toons' i don't know why, it just kinda bugs me o.o named made from leet speak , and that are dumb , and don't fit the theme, hrm..not sure how Star Wars friendly Chinsei is as a name o.o but i thing it fits good enough .. i have many more..those are the two most commonly...triggered pet peeves that i have ...so what's everyone elses?
  8. why..do you need group finders..i keep seeing people wanting them..you have a list..in the social tab that shows everyone on the same planet you are..te class and lvl , you could easily just /tell name text someone and....ask them "Hey would you like to help/group with me , maybe we can have fun questing together?" its not that hard... i mean seriously... are people really so clueless and isolated that they need a game mechanic to tell them who to group with? try being a bit more out going <.< and asking people to help you if you need it, or join you as a group if you simply want someone to play and talk to. a LFG finder type thing if you ask me is such a waste of time and space >.> i know there are a lot of lazy people but it takes...30 seconds to go to the social tab, look on who , find out whose on the planet you're on , and then send them a message. if your 'shy' then it may take 2 or 3 minutes to work up the courage to ask someone you don't know to group with you but generally... its easy , an a LFD isn't needed. i would much prefer they work on bugs, and other important /needed/ things like Pazaak! gambling ftw. however people could easily organize speeder races if they wanted to make a post asking the people on their server if they wanna have a race set up a time and location, and then have everyone meet there >.> give it rules and such... 60 people on a server is more then enough to be entertained with i mean in old games like Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy we sit on server with maybe 10 people at best(though its a FPS/TPS for the most part) but we still have fun because its not the number that makes a game fun its the people around you. 3 good people you like and get along with is far more fun , then 100 people you've never met. asking for a LFD/G type thing is like people who sit next to each other texting back and forth ..is it really going to kill you if you try /talking/ to people? As for soloing its your choice to Solo you could easily PM people to join you.
  9. personal attachement is not the Jedi way but i tend to attach myself to characters, and i feel really bad when i remove my sprite from the virtual universe for ever.. Sprites are live! they have feelings! i'm sure the Jawa's would agree <.< or atleast they say so about droids! i usually don't like multiple characters. i put alot of thought and effort into characters.. i also treat my companions pretty much the same o.o i hate it when they die and i do everything i can to kepe them alive though ...sometimes i take that to far and forget that I need to heal myself o.o and die while healing the companion <.<
  10. o.o Firefly best series ever, they should cancel castle, and force all the cast member back together o.o and hopefully recreate the same feel (notes petitions to get it to re-air are still being made <.<) i mean they could easily start before the movie and create any number of stories before the movie events , because Wash is to awesome to not be in the series <.< though Jaden was my favorite ^.^ *plays the Jaden's a hero song in his head*
  11. Not every thing is brown! i have blue robes though i don't have the full set with it /pouts/ though aside from the helmet which -.- doesn't really match the appearance its the only one i could find that fit me though.. i didn't look at the site but seems like a good idea o.o though i suspect people will find some way to complain about it ...

    doors

well ..not really doors as in open close..privacy oriented type things.. more...i don't know what there called, but there doors that cut off some parts of buildings to reduce what the person sees and prevents the room for being drawn until the door is open, i think that more doors of this type would help increase 'framerate' plus i like doors they add some sense of realism especially like auto opening doors, considering the large open areas, places like the hospital on Taris, or super reactor for example could use doors to reduce the amount of draw from outside and inside. the worlds are big, and the amount of space drawn at the same time i think reduces FPS - i play with 10 fps its mostly fine i don't really have issues about it though it'd be nice if it would increase, i also think it'd allow the graphics to move up some since there'd be less textures to draw in areas since they'd be somewhat sealed off from the un-needed. . i think there are a few invisible ones mostly seperating the out door areas, oblivion used those too. which in my experience can cause issues if you move to fast through them o.o which may be one reason for the lack of light speed movement on the ground(though as previously mentioned i like taking it slow and steady) but anyway yeah i think ..uh transitional doors i think thats what there called i may be wrong could really help improve some performance aspects , Cantinas, imperial bases houses, various other large and small buldings could use them.doors on the ship and other places i think could also reduce load times from things like rendering large areas by loading the entry area, and then drawing the rooms once you approach/open the door. i'm not sure if it'd work i'm not a programmer or developer or knowledgeable about it like a lot claim to be, but it seems like it would be useful plus doors should exist everyone likes privacy! doors are under appreciated!
  13. this is probably going to be my shortest post to date...i'd simply like to point out since the game is p2p technically speaking...there not really 'free' since you're paying to use their servers, and software.. and it doesn't really cost them anything after transfers are added in. also note - there kinds pointless unless everyone 'agrees' what server they want to switch to to make it more populace.
  14. well..after page 4? or 5 i stopped reading .. since its mostly back and forth about how good, or bad the game is ..amusingly good and bad.. vary from person to person.. lots of bugs present - so by that definition sure its 'bad' but the stories good, the people in the game from the few i've found to interact with are good/nice and helpful, which a few 'good' people to talk to is better then a million people ... Every game has good aspects and bad. Bioware has always been story first. I personally prefer Never Winter Nights over KoToR though not to say KoToR is bad, i just prefer medieval sword play over lightsabers..though would be nice if i could find more crystals to use. the whole point is to immerse yourself, though some things about the game mechanics do make that somewhat difficult the main one being that two of the same class can't par-take in the same quest which , can be somewhat annoying, i assume this is a game mechanic issue to prevent a conflict in the story, choices. or to avoid newer players from indirectly becoming involved in something and being 'rushed through' the game.. though if they have the same quest i don't see why it couldn't be shared..moving on. ToR is a good game, its new it has issues, and lets face its 27 gb's in total size so far. i don't know alot about programming but i do know 27 gigs of content is a hell of a lot to search through to fix errors that could be as simple as one 0 accidentally put in the wrong place. TLDR..to those who use such a term <.< try reading through 27 gigabytes of lines of code..and then tell me TLDR , with the sole purpose of looking for typos. note - thats generally.. somewhere around i think 27 million characters(symbols and letters not to be confused with player controlled characters) to search through- by the traditional standards ToR is a Niche game it doesn't suite everyone , its set for specific types of individuals designed with a target audience. personally all the people 'whining' about how bad it is.. and are leaving i consider a good thing.. people who sit around and whine, tend to also troll people. and the fewer raging trolls in ToR imo the better. keep the trolls in Warcraft where its an actual race -.- we already have a planet of Rakghouls we don't need player versions of them. people make games more interesting. whether its your type of game,or not is up to you. I personally like the story..though i've skipped alot of quests in favor of trying to complete the story -.- which has put me up against a lbl 31 Elite Boss at lvl 27 >.> whom keeps killing me but! difficult tasks are more interesting , sadly in the majority of games i've played one thing i hate is grinding -.- i much rather play listen to the story of the people involved, and get to know them..personally i wish there were more post interactions with characters and a reflection of my choices however i'm sure all the choices made, will eventually evolve to make differences, after all they did it with Mass Effect so theres no reason that it can't occur here, there just focusing on fixing and improving things that currently exist. . which makes the company /good/ because they're /trying/ . sadly most MMO people..are i wanna use the word spoiled but thats wrong.. they suffer from lack of good /immersive/ stories -.- they only wanna fight, and prove they're 'superior' by having the best gear - personally i prefer appearance over gear o.o though the lack of helmets bugs me..though i assume i've just not found anywhere that has good helmets. it seems the clotheing is set to appear at certain points - primarily tops - shirts- first then leggings, then boots, then ear, implants then helmet - though i'm still learning. the point is - its designed for story, for a specific target group , which has always been Biowares strength and focus which is to tell stories for people who enjoy stories. to attach yourself to your character(s) and go through and make choices that effect you, and your compatriots . and they always do a good job at telling stories. personally i'd like a more freeform environment, i don't like invisible walls or terrain designed to seal off the area personally i like exploring walking to the edge of a map and coming through the other side of it. as for 'paying' to play it , to me its worth it. because we're helping /fund/ the fixing of the game, the future expansions, and showing our support. if you feel its a 'bad' game because it requires you to take time and 'listen' to people , because its not your ideal game, feel free to move on. fine something new those of us who enjoy the stories will continue playing with or without you .i gurantee there are enough of us who enjoy games for the story who will continue playing to help it continue being funded and playable - and its not like the MMO market is small and there are hard to find unique versions of MMO's. i mean surely..there not all clones with the same game play and different themes, and bland story that has no choice in it at all. to allow you to be /yourself/ with in the confines of the game world.(sarcasm because imo all MMO's are the same..different theme same story - someone gets kidnapped - war starts - save the world/universe - start new character. I like ToR i like the ship -though wish it was more customizable-in future i know it will be- and that travel in space was a bit more interesting -i haven't space battled yet- the story is good though.. i wish i could make more unique choices , in which how i handle a situation but i'm given enough to choose what i think is the 'correct' way to deal with something. it has a good story, the voice acting works though it'd be nice if there was more emotion in the voices of the actors -imo- but they do a good job i personally get at best 10 fps so i lag a bit, which detracts to the game for me but i still enjoy it, the only negative i have is the fact that i sometimes miss the first line of text when it loads a conversation. lag, doesn't bother me much(though not sure the average FPS in ToR but i assume its better then 10 fps.) -stops here because the post is really really long , and simply signs Chinsei the writer of long posts because all of his posts are long. >.>
  15. Well.. I like some of the companions i've met so far -new haven't seen all of them and am only playing a consular- I like Qyzen Fess and C2-N2 but i dislike Theran would be nice..if there were a variety of companions that we could meet interact with and choose from i think 10 of each class with varying personalities would be nice, ideally with the ability to name/rename them..though if people are able to name/re-name them ...i'd really like a strict RP server..because people tend to give NPC silly/dumb names. an example would be "My Ho, or 1337 "<.< which to me ...such things are a pet peeve , i have a lot of pet peeves.. .. ideally they'd have varying personalities, funny, serious, trecherous, good, evil, honorable, lawful etc..would be nice if the characteristics of the character(s) were random, though i don't know how you'd match voices text with random personalities. maybe go to an area, where the type of personality you might like would be , like.. a Honorable and Serious person is likely to be in a military camp, a joker, type person well..can probably be found anywhere but a bar, or other place where trouble occurs alot is more likely to find such a personality then a army base, perhaps make them like looking for datacrons, though not requiring acrobatics. though i think you should still only be able to have 5 max though it would be nice if you could use all of your companions when doing missions, since they take up group slots, you'd have to remove one to do quests anyway. and with populations low, it'd be a good temporary fix for people who wanna do Heroic 4's and other group requiring things without being 3-5 lvls above it. -did the Eseless at 15, and Hammer at 23 or 25- because i couldn't do them solo at the proper level but i wanted to see what they were like without dieing though i did die in hammer station..really should listen to warning signs when they say 'turn back toxic environment' <.<. but generally i'm fine doing quests on my own as long as i have companions that interact with me, and comment more during conversations so i can learn about them without reading the codex. but generally i think you should get a choice in 'who' your companions are..personally as a Jedi o.o i'd want a padawan.. though i assume that i eventually get one o.o according to the classification Fess is a consular though his abilities seem more trooper/Knight. though i haven't played either of those . perhaps select ones that match personalites that you like, and want to play with . get to know them more , and perhaps contribute to the solitary RPness that is currently the ..well standard since finding people requires a lot more effort then people want to put into it. having 10 of each class , type , and various species playable/non-playable species.. each with their own weapons of choice and role. it'd also be nice if i could respect my companions to give them the weapons i'd prefer they use. i mean they should have a weapon set they're /best/ suited for but it should be changeable. not trying to add work or anything its just something i think would improve the game...perhaps add a bit of uniqueness. and make the game seem a bit more full then it does presently. ----Note i don't think i spoiled anything..and i ask not to have spoilers related to the stories.. i prefer learning if i get a 'padawan' or not on my own though so far i've considered Fess a Padawan since hes listed as the same class from what i've seen. ---
