  1. I never played SWG, so I can't attest to its faults or qualities, but I'm tired of having players compare SWToR to some other game. We all know swtor has a ways to go, but in the meantime, ****.
  2. I appreciate a lot of the EU lore, but Vader will always be the de facto Sith Lord for me, despite his status as a cripple. Some fans were disappointed with his portrayal in the prequels, and the actor's performance had a lot to be desired, but the story was solid, and gave Vader some much needed backstory. Before, he was just this old dude in an awesome suit, and now we know what he could've been. That drama will forever make Vader the most awesome Star Wars character. Revan seems a bit bland in comparison. Sure he may be able to use both the dark and light side of the force, but not through any effort of his own. Malgus is by far more interesting, sort of like an Anakin that embraced the power of the Sith, instead of forever pulling away and being indecisive.
  3. I didn't enjoy the comics, it's just a preference thing, so don't tell me I'm completely stupid, just a preference thing. I like Ulic Qel Droma though, his epilogue ending was really good.
  4. So here's my question - if the darksaber shown in the cw series is a vibroblade, but emits a flat blade of dark plasma outlined with a white light, works the same as a lightsaber, and fulfills the same utility, what's the difference? I mean, I thought in the SW EU it went like cortosis blade > lightsaber > vibroblade > normal blade. But if the darksaber is really a vibroblade that doesnt break or melt on contact with a plasma lightsaber, looks the same as a lightsaber, and functions the same as a lightsaber, what's to say it's not a lightsaber, albeit dark?
  5. Deceived was way better than Revan novel, I can't understand how someone who wrote the Bane Trilogy (which I thought was ok OVERALL, had its ups and downs), could spew out such crap. He simultaneously ruined both the emperor, and Revan, and the Exile to a lesser extent. And when I say ruined, I mean that in the most gentlest ways. I'm not even a Revan fan, I've never even played KotOR, but Drew is just a bad writer.
  6. There's a good chance Scourge would win. If you read the books, you would know that: 1. He feeds off negative emotions and turns it into power. 2. He's immortal. 3. He's been alive for like 300 years, tell me how he can't be strong if he's lived that long.
  7. Just read the book. Phantom Menace sort of makes sense now, as to what the sith were, where they came from and yadi yada blah blah blah. Anyways, it explains a whole lot of ****, and if you're interested go read it, not as boring and crappy as the other EU novels so might as well enjoy what's not crappy. it tells u: 1. *** is with those midiwatwats. 2. Who the **** is Palpatine. 3. Who the **** is Plagueis. 4. Most of the plot holes in movie 1. it does not include: 1. jar jar
  8. This is pretty much my entire mindset, although I don't believe in this "alternate universe" nonsense. That's just some make belief denial concept that people erroneously paste on stuff they don't enjoy. The OT will always be the OT, and the PT will always be that "thing" which could have been good if Avatar film technology had been available, if they had cast decent actors, and taken out Jar-jar and actually explained the "plot". I will not bash George Lucas. There were other people there who could have done something but they didn't. Everything EU is cool and all, I enjoy the comics, and occasionally find a fun novel or two, but I don't take it seriously. After RotJ, it all goes downhill. Nothing makes ense. There's like a galactic war every year or so that it's just inconceivable that entire fleets are rebuilt every few months. Stuff doesn't make sense, and that's just how it is. Too many authors who don't cooperate. Too many egotistical upstarts who have no idea how to plot a story. Too many nobodies who mess with the Skywalker family, it's all just meh. The stuff is all there, it's not going away just because u brand it "alternate univserse", but at the same time, who cares, the OT is the OT, and the rest is just there for the laughs... or the groans.
  9. Rather than add-ons, just PROVIDE them so we don't have to, BW.
  10. Not really. Their job is to make money and so long as they get subscribers and meet their quota then if the job's too hard they won't care. But honestly, BW is fixing some of the code related issues. I've already noticed an increase of fps on fleets and that sprint after death off and on thing was taken care of in the last patch. They're also fixing the modification limitations and that's a biggy since it allows more options in visual looks. All in all, yes Swtor has problems, yes BW is trying to fix them, yes there will be qqers and griefers and idiots and whiners and everything in between, and no nobody cares that BW employees also need to have lives and can't sit in front of a computer monitor slaving 24/7 to fix all our personal problems.
  11. Anakin is also one of the most important characters in Star Wars. Doesn't mean he wasn't portrayed as a clueless child, a whiny emotionally high, spoiled teenager, and an adult who threw everything he was ever given and taught back at his mentors who in his view "betrayed" him, which makes no sense at all. If Obi-wan was so *********** competent then how the **** did Sidious become Anakin's father figure. The death of qui-gon was pretty much his fault too, darth vader was also his fault, and if u read legacy, then darth krayt was also his fault because he allowed him to live. Let me see, he failed to teach the one person that really mattered even though he promised his mentor that he would, he failed to kill Anakin, resulting in Vader, resultiing in another pawn for the emperor, he failed to kill Krayt, griefing the Skywalker family yet again 100 years AFTER RotJ. that's like, 3 giant failures. Sure he's a fictional character who changed fictional history. But he changed it for the worse.
  12. This is so stupid. Nothing will ever kill WoW. How can you kill WoW when it has made more money than any other 1 game in the history of games? ToR isn't going anywhere either. It has had one of the most successful MMO launches in the history of MMOs. It is also the fastest growing MMO ever, DESPITE all the optimization problems. Does anyone even consider the fact that Swtor targest sci-fi fans, and WoW targets fantasy fans? Those 2 don't go anywhere. Fantasy nerds stay with WoW, potentially go to Guild Wars 2, but they're not touching Star Wars. It's not the **** they're interested in. Perhaps Blizz pissed them off with their new Pandamon expansion. Guess what, they're still not going to play Swtor because they're not star wars fans, just like how sci-fi fans don't give a **** about WoW. I don't give a **** about wow, never will. Won't give a **** about Guild Wars. Star Wars is here to stay. The end.
  13. lol, actually they had to retcon even before the series in order for Ahsoka to be Anakin's padawan because beforehand, Anakin wasn't even a knight there was also a series of young adult books that filled in Anakin's childhood years as a padawan, and i read thsoe, but they were pretty lackluster tbh sort of like Harry Potter without imagination and instead of Dumbledore we get Obi-wan who is all sorts of useless i can't even describe with words
  14. I thought the story for the prequels was excellent. Seriously, it's classic fall to the evil side that's been done over and over and over again and proven to work. People like this stuff. Seriously, Episode 1 made sense. If it weren't for Jar-Jar, Gungans, Obi-Wan, Annakin, and tasteless CGI, it would've been fine. Episode 2 also had a good story, it was solid, separatists manipulated by dooku manipulated by sidious awesome. It would've been fine if not for Anakin, Anakin, Anakin, the *********** ****** romance that had absolutely no progression between him and Padme, and Episode 3. Oh my god, the cgi wasn't even noticeable. Once again, if it weren't for Anakin, it would've been awesome.
