If they booted you then you were not pulling your weight and that's that. If you got badmouthed in chat then it's because you complained in that chat. I played WOW for 6 years, so I know that's what happened. People do not boot just to boot. They boot for a reason(99% of the time. Griefers get dealt with too. They are extremely ban happy in WOW ). Just because you had the damage for 1 boss doesn't mean you had the damage for the next. I have been trying to explain to people that in a way, WOW is successful because it allows for very little time to be wasted by us folks that play it, but still want to maintain lives. You were wasting their time so you were removed. There's other stuff out there where that's acceptable but a lot of us have kids to pick up, work in the morning, birthdays the next day, wives and GF that need "tending to", ect. We can't have some guy that's too lazy to read a Blog or 3(Again this will do more for you than any Addon) keeping us there all night.

I agree with the real life part. I disagree with the notion that games need to be that way. You want as many people as possible having fun in a game of this type. I accepted it a long time ago. Partially because I have grown up and my life has changed dramatically since the Vanilla WOW days(oh yea I used to be one of you guys). Things need to be accessible in an MMO. A lot of us don't have the time we did when we started down this road.

He is either from EQ or he's attempting to relive his glory days from Vanilla WOW. Either way, it's sad that his life hasn't improved to the point, where he doesn't need to spend sooooooooooooooooo much time in a virtual world in all this time.

Again what is wrong with a 6 year old playing and being successful in WOW? I was pretty ****** at 6 myself. I could finish Rygar on the NES. UO/DAOC/Other random crap that was tossed on the scrap heap when the Almighty WOW burst on the scene. It's always the people from games that, WOW was clearly superior too that whine. UO was garbage. IF it was great it would have maintained it's base despite heavy competition the way WOW has.

LOL good luck making me feel bad about playing the number 1 MMORPG ever and the only MMORPG that could legitimately be on any Magazine publisher's "Greatest Games of All Time" list. I don't know why people get so defensive. Be proud that you come from an environment of success. I would have to think that because of it's popularity WOW's socially invested playerbase is on a much larger scale. Mostly though I was curious about the second thing. Why do people need to make those"I'm one of you now posts". Why do they confuse :"i've played WOW for too long" with "WOW is bad now". Basically people get bashed so much that play WOW it seems they are ashamed or scared when they come to other games(I saw it in Rift too). I'm not though. I could care less *shrugs*

The secret behind WOW's success is that people are so invested socially inside the game. Liking Rift's BGs better and liking SW:Tor's Character Story and Companions better wouldn't stop me from logging into WOW and raiding if I could. I miss the old gang what can I say. I raided with a few of them for at least 5 years. Not being able to raid has opened up a chance for me to see what else is out there. I dunno why people feel the need to Tear Down or Explain their reason for leaving WOW when they play newer MMOs. I love(d) WOW and I'm not gonna apologize for it. I'm here in the SW universe now and having an OK time.

I laugh at DAoC fanboys all the time, but the other day I read something. I am now convinced that 3 faction PVP makes sense. I got rolled for years as Alliance. Yesterday I took advantage of Rifts free 4 days and got Rolled all day as Defiant(led to me basically rage logging lol). Basically the fun dies faster for those who are the faction that gets rolled. I honestly hadn't done a BG in WOW for maybe 2 years when I quit in August. 3 factions =You can either Gang up on the strongest faction or Gang Up on the OP classes of a Faction. So there you have it. The article I read made me a believer in DAoC's 3 faction format.
