  1. Alright, let's not generalize all Vanguard's as having ultra powerful High Impact Bolt. * Non-Assault spec's usually only get the 60% armor ignore and possibly the 6% boost talent. I'm Shield Spec -- 75% surge -- and High Impact Bolt crits for like 2500~ // * Assault Spec gets an extra 30% armor ignore, 9% damage bonus on burning targets, and 30% surge. Also, there's a talent that can reset it every 6s if you get lucky RNG. I get crit on my Shield Vanguard for 3800~ sometimes by them. --- So non-Assault version has a 15s cooldown, 60% armor ignore, and 6% bonus if you talent into it. Assault has a 6-15s cooldown (depends on RNG), 90% armor ignore, 30% surge bonus, 9% and 6% bonuses. // TLDR; nerf Assault Vanguards
  2. Taunts and Guard are really the only way to counter the melee zerg's in rated WZ's.
  3. 1. How do you think your Vanguard spec is perceived by other classes? I believe our class is viewed favorable in PvE, but mixed in PvP. The Assault spec's damage output and near permanent slow is over the top. The Shield Spec was nerfed recently and it's damage output is noticeably lower. Overall we have 3 viable builds for PvP. 2. How do you perceive your own spec? I play as Shield mainly in PvP and I enjoyed it. You can play as either DPS, pure support, or a hybrid depending on the situation. Mobility with Storm is our big advantage and well timed CC's can keep your teams healers alive. I don't believe our damage is over the top in Shield spec, but I still want to know why Stockstrike was nerfed.
  4. Tanks are the hard counter right now to the melee zergs.
  5. Roots are perfectly balanced in a 1v1 sense. It just gets stupid when you're bombarded with them non-stop. They should generate resolve, but very little.
  6. This problem happens in Civil War too. I've had two or three matches where nobody gets two points the entire match and the team that got to the cap 0.01s before you wins. Also, getting through the 1st door is the easy part in Voidstar. The second door is the hardest to defend.
  7. It's really about finding that fine balance. Wearing too much defense gear makes you too weak offensively and vice versa with dps gear. Also, as a Tank you're rarely attacked in mass PvP. You need to be flexible depending on the situation. You can either play as a straight up DPS or as a "Tank" by peeling / taunting people off your comrades. It really comes down to what's going on.
  8. I wear half tank/half dps gear. I'm @ 75% surge, 30% crit chance, 300~ power, 21k hp, 43% shield chance, 38% absorb, and 9% defense unbuffed. I went for 75% surge and then mix matched my defenses and put crit augments in all my gear. I ended up using dps weapon, implants, bracers/belt, and dps chest. Rest were tank.
  9. My first MMO was Ragnarok Online and that was in the early 2000's. After that it was Priston Tale, Lineage 2, and then WoW. All the MMOs I played before WoW were click to move games and you had to use your F1-F2 keys. They were all one faction games and Lineage 2 was the most dedicated to PvP. The amount of world PvP on it was amazing and factions were created by usually a collection of different guilds controlling different castles. I played mostly on private servers after the initial games beta, but some of them I had really good experiences. Hell, one of them got raided by the FBI : http://www.gamespot.com/news/fbi-busts-lineage-ii-hackers-6162100 When I played WoW, it was like playing a brand new innovative game for me and this was in 2005 right in the early Vanilla period of WoW. The graphics were good, having to quest instead of grind was fun, and the first time you leveled was the most memorable experience. Running my first instance was like "wow, this is cool!" There was no warzones so the world PvP was usually people raiding towns. I mean, the first time I walked into Darkshore there was a 20 or so man raid their killing the npcs and I thought it looked fun. Early Vanilla WoW was much different than WoW is today. I mean 40 man dungeons was just insane. If you rolled a class you HAD to be a certain spec, end of story. Druids, Priests, Shamans, and Paladins were either a healer or ****. There was no feral/balance druids, shadow priests, or ret paladins in raids, etc. Burning Crusade was a very large jump for WoW. It changed the game more than the other expansion packs.
  10. Ion Cell in 1.3 does about 50% less damage than it did in the prior patch. My DOT ticks for 80 damage on players. The initial hit is 160~. Prior to patch initial hits were always around 250~ and the DOT ticked for much more. With Bioware being so quiet I don't even know if its an intended nerf or a bug.
  11. I get crit for 3800 by Assault Vanguards and I have 51% damage reduction. I can just imagine what they crit other classes. After the patch Marauders/Juggernaut's damage is very noticeably reduced.
  12. Blue lightning would be confusing since lighter colors symbolize the republic.
  13. We get games on Jedi Covenant once every 20-30 minutes and if we win the other team stops playing. This is frustrating.
  14. Ranked war zones would be fun if you actually got matches during prime hours.
  15. Apparently Vanguard Tanks deserved a 20%~ nerf to Stockstrike crit dmg. I get crit for 3800 by other Vanguard's with Rail Shot.
