  1. I'm not sure if you've played healers on ffxiv but as a healer main with all 3 jobs maxed, the current composition heavily preferred is AST/SCH...WHM is by no means bad but after AST got buffed intensely, they're OP. I still love mine but it's definitely the preferred healer since I want to say patch 3.3. The current mechanics of A9S-A12S do love their mech heavy madness that doesn't necessarily jive well with the intense healing output of WHM. It's still doable, but there's a bit of a crisis going on with WHM overall. Anyway! I do agree with your original point however regarding BW Austin and their lack of understanding toward class balance. It's disappointing because it clearly favors certain compositions. I'm coming back to swtor this weekend to try out the expansion and am curious how things have changed. The patch notes were enormous.
  2. 1) 186 Augments are the ones you want for sure. However, it's best to usually wait until you're either at full expertise or bolstered to full expertise because I think (although I'm not 100% sure) it can affect your bolster. 2) For PVP I've heard many different things but the only real "Sure" thing in PVP is health. So instead of mitigation stats, every PVP tank I've ever met and even my own (I have one of each tanking class) uses Fortitude Augment 36. Hope that helps
  3. Having leveled each of the classes I can say without a doubt my top 2 are Sith Inquisitor and Imperial Agent. If you're a fan of melee then you could do a DPS Imperial Agent as they are melee too. The I.A. story is really what I love about it but there's a lot of fun to be had running around stabbing people too as a Concealment spec DPS If you do ever go pub-side I also really enjoyed the Smuggler story, it has a fun feel to it. I also really enjoy the male voice actor for the smuggler.
  4. Yeah that's definitely very true. They haven't set out a map of the cantina tours for 2015 have they? We'll probably see a new one crop up somewhere. Maybe they'll actually make it Boston, but just later.
  5. I've leveled so many characters I tend to use them from the very beginning to burst me through the first few planets. It's just nicer to have it as a constant so I can level quicker. I ended up with a few left over and that helped during SoR...didn't have to buy any of the boosts for my 55s, haha.
  6. I agree, running TK has been easier for me when playing my sage. There's more instant death so to speak when I run around doing dailies with either Nadia or Lt. Iresso. I tried running Balance and I liked it, but if you want things to go quicker, go TK. (I also like the animations of TK far better but that's just me!)
  7. I seem to be in the minority but I really enjoy the male consular voice. Conversely I couldn't stand the blandness of the female voice and ended up deleting my female shadow after Coruscant. I've played two male consulars (one Sage, one Shadow) and I agree with the earlier poster, it seems much better to me as a dark sided character. The light side definitely sounds very goody two-shoes...
  8. I have a strong feeling the Marketing budget is where the community stuff is, just based on personal experience with community management and interaction. They'll probably end up losing this money because of the cancellation which only hurts them in the long run. Like you said, they'll get their budget cut because they didn't use it. That, or they'll find some other use for it by the end of their fiscal year, maybe another tour or something else. IDK. I would doubt the money would go to the development budget. I'd be really curious to see how their finances were allocated for fiscal 2015. /nerd
  9. I feel your pain! I have the same problem. Operator IX is the absolute worst. I ask my guildies to help me if I don't find my color circle right off the bat. I sometimes even wear gear I know is the same kind of color so I can match it to the ground. Not the best idea, but hopefully it helps?
  10. I'm having the same problem. Says to refer to Twitter but I didn't see anything on there.
  11. I like Corso, personally, more so because I seem to find aim pieces everywhere. I've heard bad things about Bowdaar but have never used him so I can't really speak to them. I recommend Corso! But if you wanna try Treek, too, go for it. They can share gear if it's adaptive.
  12. Ebon Hawk! Thought I posted it. Sorry
  13. Hi all! I'm a gay male in NYC, you can call me Z I have a plethora of characters but you can usually find me on the following: Vediovis (Sorc Heals) Telesforos (Operative Heals) Pub side: Alexiares (Scoundrel Heals) Morwin (Sage Heals) Volcaenus (Shadow Tank) If you see me, say hi!
  14. Having played the dailies on multiple healers on both sides (my second "main" is a healing Operative), here's what I'd recommend... Make sure to have your slow release med pacs on Akaavi at all times. When you notice her health get to even less than 75%, you should use Kolto Cloud. Spamming Diagnostic Scan is also helpful. Always use Kolto Cloud on cool down. If you can afford it, buy some artifact implants and earpiece for Akaavi. That will help--you can get some of them pretty cheap. What previous posters have said is essential: you need to interrupt the abilities constantly because both the Tower boss and the Cave boss can be an absolute nightmares for healers, even more so if your companion is a DPS and not a tank. It's not impossible (I do it on my Merc with Torian and my Sage with Nadia). I personally run with Corso on my Scoundrel and he's pretty much in 148s, but I'm in a mix of 156/162/168. On the cave boss you should stand within the 10 m range and keep your grenade on cool down so you can just toss it at the tentacle it summons. Good luck!
  15. Treek is a great place to start since she can do both heals and tanking. The only downside is that she'll need two sets of gear to do it with good effectiveness. However, in my own personal experience, like I said, running with a tank is a bit easier because you don't get mowed down as fast. I found running around with Lokin to be a little rougher than I liked. Good luck!
