  1. Playing on a RP server, the issue is not only effective advertising for Events and Guilds. It's the fact that the Rp community within the server community needs to find each other and be able to advertise themselves as individual RPers. It's not uncommon that non-rpers roll on RP servers for various reasons, and as a player there is little to do to monitor this. We have no reason to see if someone is a RPer unless we ask them. Imo a server forum is importat, regardless of the purposes it serves. It's a way of socialising even when you may not be playing the game, sharing stories relevant to the server, and much common for RP servers: keeping updated. At the moment we have progenitorarchives and swtor-rp to somewhat help us, but the issue remains that these sites are hard to find still. AT LEAST make it so that there is a server forum section where BIOWARE DIRECTLY REFERS TO THESE INOFFICIAL FORUMS. Make it easy for the community to find each other! Not having a server forum is a huuuuuuuuuge minus for me, there's no reason whatsoever for me to hang on the forums apart from actually searching for assistance that is irrelevant to my community.
  2. WOW really has ruined MMOs for many people I think this gives a pretty lame view of the game. As mentioned, you shouldn't see gear as the ultimate reward/throphy to play for. I'm not a SW fan, nor a fangirl of SWTOR, but rushing to 50 a month after the game has released never worked for anyone in ANY game (Rift, AOC, Aion etc). You're more likely to stick around if you keep your pants on. People are making expectations based on previous experiences on games that have been around for years already. If that's what you expect from a new game, just stick to your old one.
  3. Yeah, gief server forums it's hard to collect a community of people at unofficial forums, especially the latecomers.
  4. Naw, it wasn't a joke. Overall - thanks guys. I was going based on a post comparing the three healers, and they pretty much did not bring up any of these strengths you are pointing out. Looks like a lot of fun now that I've bumped up the levels.
  5. I love this! Would be fantastic to have a really big compilation of it. I can't think about much apart from "how emotional is your character", "how helpful/loyal is your character" yadad yadda
  6. Very nice exploration of the more "human" emotions that are often ignored in the sith they are human, after all.
  7. I really loved these, very quaint sense of humour Hahaha.
  8. Hi, I rolled a sith sorc simply to heal end game (BOTH PVP and PVE). I realise that in PVP, we are extremely flexible due to our shield and mobility. Here we don't really have to compete about "being picked" like I worry about in end game pve. Currently, if an 8 man raid needs 2 healers, it seems like the Op and Merc are a lot more versatile in keeping people alive effortlessly. Op for raid healing, Merc for tank and burst. So where does the sorc fit in? We have no insta heals, the shield has a bit of a CD to spam in preparation of incoming raid burst, our fast heal is rather weak and force consuming and we have no insta "ho **** button" except for the shield that gets eaten up pretty quick, especially by stronger mobs. Will sorcs get singled out of use or taken as second best or do we actually have a chance to stand well as healers in pve end game? (I played a druid in wow, loved it so much and I was good at it. I know sorc has been compared to disc priest a little and that worries me since I have zero experience with this kind of a healer and it looks a little crippled to me). Thanks for any and all thoughts! - A level 30 who is too attached to her lightsaber to consider a reroll.
  9. Thanks for your swift reply as a healer I don't think endurance is too important (maybe that's my wow-healing ignorance) and I suppose I could always find replacements for the relics regardless? It would be different if there was an entire kickass armour set, but if that is implemented later I might just get my *** in gear and grind.
  10. Hi, I'm sorry if this thread has been brought up before - I tried searching but couldn't quite hit anything. At the moment I know the "grey morality" has been a hot topic as it's soon to be implemented, but my concern is a little different. At the moment I am enjoying the darkside I effects a little too much. I don't quite like the increased effects, and since you can't toggle WHICH tier you want to show, I was wondering if I should just stay at Darkside I for the aesthetics (roleplayer, hurr durr). But will I suffer considerably at higher levels for making this decision, or is there replacements for the "rewards" that aren't too difficult to obtain? Will the morality items become obsolete sooner or later? And a follow up question - if needed, is it possible to grind to the desired morality tier at max level? Thanks a lot
  11. Thank you very much for this insight, it's really sparked some creativity. Do you reckon that, if by diluted bloodline, she would still have the poor eyesight in dark? This is mainly why I think the race would be made interesting in RP. I just saw the "Hapan" race after wookiepedia'ing "Humans" when I started building on her, and it caught my interest, so frankly I know little. You have helped loads though, thanks!
  12. This is why my allegiance is with the empire. So much more characterful than the republic!
  13. Hi, So I figure this is where this thread should end up, and though I hate to ask people to "do my homework for me", I simply cannot seem to make any sense of the above topic. I am a roleplayer, I roleplay in every MMO (and sometimes other games) I play. The issue here is that I am VERY short of info on the star wars universe. Now I'm trying to forge my character, and again - the topic is a burning question in my mind. Would it be plausible/possible for a Hapan to become sith? I read that they were very isolated but could not make sense of the timelines, so I turn to you in hopes that you may be a little (lot) more informed than me Thank you!
