  1. Sound effects for blaster rifles and pistols vary from one to another. Some have no sound effect, and are silent when you use hammer shot. If you change out for a different blaster, you will hear a sound effect on hammer shot.
  2. If you have a keypad device like the Razer Orbweaver with a button under your thumb you can do what I do, which makes it easy to heal one's companion without losing your target. Set up any button on the device to execute a macro, shift_f1 followed by alt-f. Use it whenever focus is lost, and it is regained in a flash by pressing one button. Set the thumb button to be the "END" key, and press while clicking a quick bar button to cast on the focus.
  3. For what it's worth, i had the same issue just over the last week or so, getting worse and worse. I traced it to the power supply to mobo connector. The power supply wire, for a gold certified modular corsair 650w psu I installed about 3 weeks ago, is rather heavy and somewhat inflexible, and had migrated around a little, making the connection to the mobo out of kilter. So I re-seated the connector, wedged the wire in a bit better, and no more problem with reboots.

  5. The droid that is not vulnerable at the moment puts up a shield. You can fight from within the shield, and the other droid's main ability, which is one-shotting you, will not affect you. So just stay within the blue bubble of the droid you are not attacking and you will not be one-shotted.
  6. The "unknown error" message started appearing for me in the launcher a week or so ago. It appeared without fail, every time I started the game. I had to start the game 3x every time, entering a security key number each time. After getting tired of that, I edited the file launcher.settings and changed "bitraider_disable": "false" to "bitraider_disable": "true". Next time I started the game it took an hour or two to download the entire patch, but now I don't have any issues with streaming, initializing, etc., the game just starts.
  7. Suggest that, similar to the light / dark alignment gain indicator, conversations show the affection change that will occur for each choice, on mouse over, with regards to the current companion. That would save some time, escaping out of conversations and choosing other options to avoid negatively impacting the companion's affection.
  8. Other than as an aid to a ninja loot thief who happens to luck out and get the "lead" in an FP, there is no purpose in having a master looter in a 4 man pug joined through the group finder.
  9. This was actually pretty easy, as a sorcerer, not even that time consuming. Perhaps they toned it down. I played it just like any other "hard" npc, i.e. mainly healed khem and kept him bubbled. the only diff was I had to heal myself a bit, and bubble myself, because some of her effects hit me too. Also, as others recommended, I used my two interrupts on her from time to time, when she was casting something. But I ended up with both Khem and myself at at least 50% health. Didn't have to hide behind any pillars or anything either. I'm sure it's more difficult, of course, with an inquisitor specced for tanking or dps.
  10. Suggestion: it would be nice to be able, as one can with the dark/light side results of a conversation choice, see the affect on the currently active companion of each choice. For those desiring to avoid any negative effects, it would save a bit of time over escaping from the conversation and restarting it to avoid the affection losses, which are sometimes not obvious from the choices presented.
  11. The group that worked for me was the one not where the map inidicator shows up, its the group right outside of Aurek, say around 711,129. Tried three groups around where the quest icon shows up on the map as the area to get bitten, and those groups did not infect me, but the first group I tried close to Aurek bit me very quickly.
