  1. It's a game, get over it. They have the chat profanity filter on for a reason. Stop whining because you can't handle seeing people talk in ways that you do not approve of. You can always leave chat.
  2. It is indeed strange the variability of performances on similar machines. I wouldn't define mine as "high-end" but it's certainly a decent computer and more than meets the recommended requirements.
  3. I'm playing on a computer with 8 gigs of RAM, a 1gb Vid Card, and an i5 processor with TurboBoost enabled... I can play Crysis 2 and BF3 with no problems whatsoever. However in SWTOR, I get lucky to have 12 fps in any warzone, the average is around 6-8. So to you I say goodluck.
  4. So I currently have a 48 Merc and a 23 Ptech. I re-rolled Ptech because I liked the idea of more utility and mobility, however thus far my results have been quite underwhelming. Note: Yes, I realize that I'm considerably lower level on my Powertech and I'm not expecting to top damage charts at 23. I'm just curious as to whether or not the damage for AP improves drastically. I generally end warzones with 5-8 medals, however my damage rarely breaks 100k. On my Merc I was generally in the top 3 for damage as soon as I got tracer missile. I also realize that when my Merc was 20, so was everyone else (2nd day of early access), so perhaps my expectations are skewed. So does AP (or Pyrotech for that matter) offer great damage once higher level? Or can I always expect to be stuck doing mediocre damage, and being more of a support by throwing guard on on healers/ball carrier? If by some chance I'm playing the spec incorrectly, then I would like to know. If it's 1v1 I generally ED - RB - RS - RP - then use FB until I can RP/RS again. Does this sound right? (I also throw in unload/DFB when necessary, and keep my heat below 40 ofc). PS: It seems much more beneficial to use Ion so that I can throw guard on VIP's during WZ's, as a dps spec is it worth it to disregard Guard and instead use HE instead? (Yes, I picked up the HE talents, however Guard just seemed like it was too good not to use.) Thanks guys! PSS: Is Pyrotech much better for dps in WZ's? I've heard from various people that both spec's do very well, and I saw a Ptech hit over 300k damage the other day, however I didn't catch his spec.
  5. A few people posting in this thread need to get laid. Just my opinion.
  6. Honestly it's almost a matter of preference. However if you're Shield Tech I would recommend you using Gault or Torian to help you kill stuff quicker. You shouldn't have any survivability problems with your spec so Mako is probably not a great help. Just remember to keep your dps companions geared and they can provide very adequate dps.
  7. So I leveled a merc to 44 and realized that I would prefer to be a Powertech. So I'm at level 19 now, and I'm debating which spec between AP or Pyro would offer faster leveling times, as I'm trying to catch back up to my friends as quickly as possible. Thanks for your input.
  8. So while running through the Outlaw's Den area of Tattooine, near the Jawa Black Market Trader I noticed an interactable broken droid on the ground. When I clicked it, it agro'd the level 50 elite Jawa and he promptly killed me (level 40). However, it makes me wonder. What does this broken droid do. The only other time I've seen anything like this was the dead jedi that was used to summon the world boss on Taris, does this too summon a world boss? Or is it for something else?
  9. Thanks for the input. Dropping slicing isn't an option, it makes obscene amounts of money (last night at this time I was at 32k, I'm currently at 150k+ mostly due to slicing). But I suppose I'll just wait until Cyber is at 400 and then consider switching.
  10. So I currently have 250ish Cyber and Scavenge along with 320ish Slicing. Dropping slicing isn't an option and I want to be able to continue with Cybertech. The prices for standard scavenging materials seem to be fairly low on my server whereas level 3 Underworld Trading bars are going for 2k per bar. I've seen quite a few others that have taken Underworld Trading, Slicing, and Cybertech and I want to know if this is a successful (lucrative or at least breaking even while leveling Cybertech way to go). Obviously prices will change in then coming weeks/months, so this is more of a prediction than anything. Thanks!
  11. Yeah, 15 minutes until the servers come up so I thought I might ask. Cybertech is around 250 and Scavage is around 260. I dropped Underworld Trading initially to pick up slicing and it was a great option, however all of the blue/purple mods require UT materials along with scavaging and the UT materials are considerably more expensive on my server (2k per bar of level 3 UW Trading Materials). So do you guys think it's more profitable to buy the cheaper but heavy quantity scavaging materials, or stick with scavaging and just fork out cash for blue/purple bars. Edit: Clarification
