  1. But this "vanilla" stage still needs to be relevant to 2012. It still needs to be able to compete with current games. My point is that saying "this is still in vanilla so it's ok if it had problems." Is bad logic in the context of competing with other games on the market.
  2. The problem is that it's not competing with "vanilla" WoW. Who on earth would claim that a game in 2011/2012 is competing with a game from 2004? SWTOR is competing with Cataclysm/Mist of Pandaria. That's just how it works.
  3. Yes...yes I would rather click a button than type "LFG" in general chat for an hour. Is that really so ridiculous?
  4. Wait...wait...wait...are you implying that SWTOR is not a text based adventure game?
  5. I had to stop reading this thread to call you out. You will NEVER perform well in any endgame content and that is obvious. If you remain with this game, you're destined to a career of being carried or just flat out dropped from groups.
  6. I love how "lazy" is thrown around in a video game. IF THE GAME ISN'T A JOB THEN YOU'RE JUST A STUPID CASUAL!
  7. There was plenty to do outside of raiding. It's your own fault if you didn't do it.
  8. Way to completely miss the point. The game doesn't need to be a clone of WoW, but when we're looking at similar/identical mechanics (in this case, getting players into groups), it's absolutely a good idea to learn from WoW's success. A game should not be sub par just because it's afraid of copying WoW.
  9. I cannot fathom how people come to the conclusion that spamming "LFG" for an hour constitutes more meaningful social interaction than simple silence. If you don't like the silence you're more than welcome to break it.
  10. She never becomes a Sith...ever. We want a Sith companion. If you don't, then you don't have to turn her. We want the option.
  11. At no point does it seem like a good idea...we earned the loot, we should be able to distribute it!
  12. So, I learned this weekend that the loot from operations is "randomly" given to people in the raid. I use the word randomly but I imagine there is at least some method to the madness, I just can't see it. Who thought it was a good idea to take that control away from the players?! One of two things needs to happen: 1. The developer who thought that was a good idea needs to receive a very strongly worded letter. 2. That system needs to be explained in detail. It will likely just need to be straight up changed but for now I'd be happy with an explanation. Seriously, NEVER take control away from players when you don't have to. That is a TERRIBLE design decision.
  13. My gear is pretty poor since I did a lot of my leveling with space missions and warzones BUT every guide I've read and every experience I've had has pointed to her being the best dps companion. Although in the most recent updates to the patch notes they're actually INCREASING her damage?! I'll agree with you on the ranged > melee and her personality is obnoxious points.
  14. We paid $60 for the game, why aren't we allowed to demand a certain quality at launch?
  15. I was hi-res textures, no UI lag, and an engine that can take advantage of my hardware. Those things are not unreasonable to expect at launch.
