  1. I am self employed. The nature of my work means i dont have set hours, so i just while away the hours between on SWTOR. No wife or kids.
  2. Yeah, i can attest to the above. Just doesnt look as good when you have bolts missing.
  3. I am not a big MMO fan. Simply because i am a very hardcore roleplayer. What i mean by this is that i have not yet (bearing in mind i have not played many MMO's) played an MMO that has catered to that end. They seem very combat oriented with such things as raids and whatever. I am yet to find a game that i can really get into IC wise. Because RP is relegated to nothing but chat and a bit of PVP, PVE, all in character. I know i am perhaps asking for a lot, and i may have missed an MMO somewhere that has what i seek. I want a game that has combat, but also has a lot of roleplay possibilities. I feel that a lot of MMORPG's forget the last bit: RPG (role playing game) or attempt to use it as license to mean you create a character, but thats it. If an MMO were to come along, which had taken care to cater to roleplayers as well as other players, i would change. Assuming i liked the setting, of course. I wont deny SW:TOR has provided me with some enjoyable RPG moments. But that was still only limited to chat on the /s channel and a smattering of other activities. I like the storylines, also. But as someone who gets nothing out of PVP or PVE (Okay, maybe a little something) The game falls short.
  4. I have F set as take cover in place. I rarely use the green indicators. I try and find cover myself. Its kinda fun not having the game tell you where to hide.
  5. I dont think i have ever said anything against you guys (Bioware/EA) I have talked about things i would like to see. Heck! I have said that i felt like Roleplayers were a little neglected. But i have never had a full on rant aginst you. I've never felt truly dissapointed. I love this game. I am dissapointed now. Faith is what i had. That faith is waning. You promised so much from this patch. But what do we get? A scheme worthy of con-artists. I feel no entitlement. I know you are a company, and you need to earn revenue. But this latest patch stinks of nothing but money grabbing. I am happy to pay for the armour and other items i like on Cartel. But randomised Dye packs. Really? That is such a blatant attempt at earning more money. Yeah, sure they dont cost much. But what you get out of them rarely comes up with anything decent. I have compromised and used one of the dyes. Its not the sort of thing i was looking for. But i am willing to go along with my choice. I'd ask why no ability to buy seperate dyes. But as i have stated, that is glaringly obvious. Hair. Two new hair styles for humans... One that is a Qui-Gon rip off. and another that is ridiculous IMO. And to top it all off, I HAVE to spend CC's if i want to customise anything at all. What is this guys? I'm not asking for free stuff. What i am asking for is choice. I'm asking for the ability to decide on what dye colour i want, not have it randomised. I'm asking for customisation options that are based on a choice to either spend CC's or Credits. I came from Star Trek Online, a terribly run MMO in my opinion. It was JUST after your money. And subscribers, they got jack all, as far as i am concerned, for the money they contribute. Their customisation, granted, cost their version of CC's but at least you had choice of colours. Anyway my point was: dont go off in their direction. Dont spoil this MMO by making everything about RL Money. Sure you might not read this. I suppose i kind of hope you do look through these posts. There is a lot of discontent. And sure you cant please everyone. But this isnt about that. Its about people, subs like me mostly, who feel pretty hurt by the way this was all implemented. Please, consider what you are doing. [EDIT] And i just remembered. Not only do we have to pay for customisation, but we also have to buy the new hairstyles and other options with CC's. Which adds to my point that there should be choice on what to spend. Regards.
  6. Would be great for RP purposes. Sure you are gonna get some who will try and abuse the sytem by being idiots. But you get that in your own faction. Most of us are mature enough just to ignore those people. At the end of the day, if you were trying to protect people from cyber-bullying, bad language, and trolling, you cant stop that with there being inter faction communication. I've seen enough of it and been on the end of enough it to just /ignore. And most people do the same.
  7. Lucas always intended them to be Naziish, and a little bond-villian esque. I dont think they would be interesting enough for a game like this if they were simply a not-so-bad guy group. In ficitonal universes such as this you have to have your clear and cut bad guys, and your clear and cut good guys. Good thing about it being a game is you kinda mess with that system a little by going the complete other way than your faction (oh, how many Dark Jedi there seem to be in the republic...) What the books do, is show the sith or empire in a little more of realistic light. cliche bad guys often dont work too well in books. You have to have something that makes them that little more human (or whatever race they tend to be) like one of my favourite Sith related books: Darth Plagueis. He was actually not a bad guy on the whole. He just wanted to study midichlorians. Yeah, okay he killed a few people and dominated a few, but he wouldnt have been a Sith without that side to him. But that made him a great bad guy in the context of the book. You knew he was the bad guy. But at the same time he wasnt so over the top that you kinda went "yeah yeah, i get it already your evil. Just get on with the story". I play Sith because i like the storyline. As a roleplayer, i rarely play a cliche. As i said to a friend, when describing my character: "If you were to stick him in the Republic Senate (like Sidious) You would not know he was Sith. He was in no way light side or 'grey', but he had great self control, and was excellent at using that to appear however he needed to in a current situation". Just my two penneth.
  8. A few more RP props such as usable chairs, a few more vanity items such as clothing that i probably wouldnt use for armour (though i'm sure you could) But would be great as 'costumes'. A bit like the imperial officer armour you can buy from the Cartel Market (something i only use for RP, it has no upgrades in it). I see some people have mentioned open world PVP, that would be interesting. especially if you want to get two militaristic RP guilds together for a battle. Open space, or something of the sort. I know they have a plan in the works... Another RP thing: I always felt that roleplaying a smuggler was great. But i would love to actually smuggle once in a while. have other roleplayers contract you to purchase items that have real value. Not sure how you would work that.
  9. Yeah, but they are not catering for only one crowd of player (PVP). They are catering from various players who have their own motives for play. Stuns and knockbacks are great in PVE imo or storyline missions. I dont want to say your personal preffered play style is not worthy or anything like that, because its a good thing you know what you want to do in-game. Just trying to point out that they have to try and cater for a lot of different players. And creating classes with extremely different abilities would have taken some time. And people were already complaining about how long this game took Regards
  10. Well, it does say short video. Its a teaser. And they dont want to give away the big punchline by showing you how it is done etc... Admittedly the video does make you feel a little cheated by the fact there is little info to go on. But any good teaser trailer will do that. They are being very clever with the way they are doing it. Plus, i would say that out of all the classes out there, BH and Jedi can give a good contrast. Most sith want to be black, purple, or red. (some admittedly want otherr colours) Whereas a lot of people dont want generic BH colours or the jedi dont want lots of brown (i prefer the classic look, personally) I understand your feelings on the matter. But it was made to make you feel the way you are feeling about it right now Regards
  11. A lot of people have said it already, in various ways. But it would be nice if Sorcerors had the limited ability to use some lightsaber forms. Or even special lightsaber buffs of other kinds to make full use of the sorc. saber. I have found use for it against some enemies which seem somewhat force resistant. But other than giving an enemy a few hits to take him down, does seem a waste.
  12. I enjoy the current ones. They are kinda fun, and the harder one provide a little challenge. But it would be great if i could fly my ship in a little more open space. Or as OP said, some large scale battlefields. I'm not into pvp much, but that i would enjoy. And good luck in Basic, OP. Regards
  13. Oh, please! dont remind me Those bloody boxes were the bane of my Starfleet career...
  14. Believe me, the Subscription benefits you get with this game are excellent compared to the F2P game i came from. I know i am using one game as an example here, but it is a good example of how Subs can be really screwed over. I came from Star Trek Online. And frankly, its subscribtion model consists of Priority Login 3 Extra Character Slots A small (and i mean small) amount of Zen (equiv of Cartel Coins) a month Non-subscribers of that game get everything else and can purchase every of the above with bought "Zen". We get a lot more. Plus the subscription fee is, if i remember rightly, is much more manageble on smaller incomes on SWTOR. I'm not saying you, OP, are wrong. I am just pointing out that we are pretty well looked after as subscribers, compared to some others MMOs. Regards
