  1. I love PvE. I love stories and this game offers some of the best on the market. It's probably the best F2P value if you're just into doing all of the story quests for the respective classes. I even paid for the digital expansion to experience the story content on Makeb. Last night I did a little bit of the HK-51 story chain. I stumbled onto it by accident. I did the deserted ship portion of it where you go around like a detective, gathering clues and items to progress to the next level. I LOVED IT!. Which brings me to the topic at hand... From your personal experience.... what parts of SWTOR do you recommend I do. Things that are really cool and content that shouldn't be missed. From your perspective... what "special" things in SWTOR have you seen and would recommend that I do because it's done well. I loved the Reven story line and back story from the started zones as well, leading up to the Foundry. Stuff like that really excites me. KOTOR 1 is one of my favorite games of all time. So .... anything and everything you've experienced in SWTOR, pub or emp side, doesn't matter... like, is a certain class story on one side or the other really better than any other... or specific epic chains, a specific flashpoint. Other than taking my merc to 50, I really havn't done much. I think i've only done 3 Flashpoints... Foundry, False Emperor and Directive 7 (now that was a fun last fight). Thanks in advance.

    Hk-51?

I downloaded the game yesterday morning on a whim. I had a lvl 50 Merc Healer from when I played 10 months ago. I LOVED LOVED the story content up to the end. I didn't enjoy the raiding as much. For one reason or another I just left. Well, I decided to finish some of the quests still in my log and pick up some new ones. Unbeknownst to me, one of the quests ended up being the deserted ship portion of the chain. I stumbled upon it... finished 80% on my own, and had to use some guides for the last 20%. Suffice it to say, this was an amazing quest. I'm on the part where I have to go to different planets to get the rest. This is the type of diversionary content I LOVE. The treasure hunting, puzzle solving, mini platforming and " approaching dark corners with a flash light" was very appealing. I havn't even finished the quest and without a doubt will recommend this chain to anyone. It's a lot of fun and I hear he's a great companion to have. I loved his dialogue in KOTOR .
  3. Yeah i get it... But i just don't subscribe to the philosophy of designing a game that requires you to play 2-3 hours a night of just doing the same quests over and over again, so that you can get a vanity item. That feels like a hamster in a cage, running in the wheel but not getting anywhere. I'd rather have in depth quality content where I play less, but get more enjoyment. EA's finger prints feel all over the design of the legacy system. It's a good idea, but its implementation makes EA's priorities abundantly clear.
  4. Unlike most naysayers, I really really enjoyed the game. I havn't played in a month only because I was burnt out. After the introduction of the latest patch with the Legacy system, I have a real hard time justifying coming back. Here's why.... It looks awfully like a carrot on a stick system employed by WoW. The cost to purchase all of the "convenience" items makes it obvious that this is more an EA game than a Bioware game. It appears to be a quantitative approach to content rather than quality. There's only one way a person will ever be able to get all of the legacy features (since they cost gil)... GRIND GRIND GRIND! You'll have to do dailies everyday. I promised myself I would never allow a video game to feel like work after my experiences with WoW. I don't want my entertainment to become like work. Or just mindless repetition in order to obtain vanity items. I know I know, "arn't all mmo's the same way?" Some more than others. The system and the means by which people will get rewards seems like a really cheap way of keeping people subscribed. I asked myself, "Do I want to get sucked into that GRIND, again! After WoW?" The answer for me, at least, is no. It's better not to start at all.
  5. I'll never give up the G13.. i love the thumbstick too much to every go back to anything else. I want a mouse to supplement the G13 not to replace it. I did some research, so I think i'm going to get the G700 instead of the Razor Naga..... G700 looks perfect for healing....
  6. I'll try healing at Lvl30 and see if I can manage fine without it.. otherwise.. i'll just get it.
  7. Great response... thank you.... Any other suggestions whether RAzor naga will make me a more efficient healer if I chose to go full heals?
  8. I hate never using an ability.. i always think that there's a time and place for its use..... With that said, I'm having a hard time balancing dps and healing.. I plan on doing a hybrid build for flashpoints....
  9. Ok, I've decided to go healer for the first time in my mmo career.... I find the action bars very limiting... there doesn't seem to be enough slots to organize my skills in a very effective manner. I have to use the right action bar, but many times, I even forget I have that ability. Long story short, for those of you who have the Razor Naga Mouse and/or the Logitech G13 gamepad, is he mouse good for healing, or is it going overboard? I'm thinking I can use my G13 to map out my tanking and offensive abilities and use the Mouse for all of my healing. Mercenery gets only 5-6 heals, if I map them on the mouse, it will allow me to click on nameplates and use healing abilities with one hand, while the other hand uses the thumbstick for movement.... So is it worth the investment, or does it make things more complicated than necessary?
  10. By target do you mean their name plate or the actual player avatar?
  11. How do mouseover macros or mouseover heals work? Do you mouse over the players nameplate or over the player? How's a mouse over macro/healing different than using your mouse to click on the name frame? I'm sorry, I'm a noob to all this.
  12. clicking frames is as optimal than selecting party members using F keys? To be honest... the G13 gamepad allows me to move and click at the same time, and the mouse allows me to select the target while clicking and moving. I just thought if F keys were better, I'd train myself to do that instead.
  13. The trooper forum is not as active, plus i thought that this is a topic pretty much the same for any healer in SWTOR..... I 'll try there as well.
  14. Holy crap... on page 2, 10 seconds after making thread.... /bump
