  1. I counter them by knowing how to play. It also helps that I'm on a tank sin
  2. No class is going to walk up to 5 people and solo them unless they are AFK, brain dead, or both. If you don't think a pyro PT could never be a problem then you're clearly never fought a good one. Matter of fact, they are the most dangerous DPS class out there. I know this because I play one.
  3. Defensive Roll > Rage Obfuscate is just as effective against Carnage too. The only difference is that annihilation has better sustained damage than carnage, and -20% debuffed heals are better than no heals. Force Camo'ing out of a Gore will hurt Carnage more than the other player missing with his Annihilate. Annihilation will never lose against the other mara specs unless its player error. I'd put all my money on that.
  4. If a rage marauder is defending a turret solo, I 100% guarantee you he will get pooped on by any decent annihilation marauder who decides he wants to take his turret. In an organized setting, the rage marauder will call for help of course, but if the opposing team is any good, the other team won't be able to afford being two players short somewhere else because the rage marauder can't handle another player on his own. Don't get me wrong, Rage is awesome when you can manage to hit more than 2 people with a Smash, but keep in mind that every time you're not smashing, the annihilation marauder is doing more damage than you.
  5. Rage is better in big fights where you can hit several people with smash and have a healer to keep you up. Annihilation favors smaller fights, where you only have yourself to rely on. Both scenarios are very common.
  6. As I stated in my original post, I used the legacy warzone dummy on my ship.
  7. Annihilation 31/7/3 DPS: 1616.7 Full BM + adrenal/relics vs Warzone Dummy
  8. I gave you some hard numbers, and you counter them by saying everything snipers have is ****. Sounds to me like you're not very good at playing your sniper, and that's okay, most people aren't. Good snipers will continue to wreck in rateds, just like good pyros will, and I will be glad to have either class in my team knowing that each can contribute in the right hands.
  9. Let me break it down for you because you seem to have problems comprehending things: Pyro survivability is not much better than snipers. I'd argue it's actually worse. Snipers get Shield probe (absorbs around 2.5k dmg on a 45 secs cooldown). Pyros get Kolto Overload (15% heal on a 3 minute cooldown) Snipers get Ballistic Shield (20% AoE DR on a 3 mins CD). Pyros get Energy Shield (25% DR on a 2 min CD). In addition to this, snipers get Evasion (100% dodge for 3-4 secs on a 60 secs CD). A talented -45% acc debuff which can really screw up weapon damage classes. They also get CC immunity for 20 secs on a 60 secs CD. They have better CC than PTs. They cannot be charged or pulled while in cover, and they can do all their damage from the safety of range without being noticed or taking splash AoE damage. Pyros get a 5% more mitigation from heavy armor. And for the bazillioneth time, pyros cannot do all their damage from 30 meters. You need to be in melee range to proc your RS. If you're not getting RS procs, you're playing pyro wrong.
  10. Lmao, first you brought up the whole "played DAOC" thing, now that you almost won a match in some random 4vs4, what's next? Were you a WoW gladiator too? Talk about desperate. Also, a video of the first 4vs4 tournament held in HoG, which we actually won.
  11. There are many scenarios where I'd take an 8 sec mez over a 2.5 seconds stun. Pyro survivability is not much higher than that of snipers. I never said pyro damage was low from range, you were the one who said you could do all your damage from sniper's range. Which is clearly BS. Sniper is on the same league as pyro. Unfortunately this is often clouded by the fact that pyro is very easy to play, so most pyros are at least decent, whereas 90% of snipers can't play the class right.
  12. Lol, you're pretty desperate to prove your point when you start making up stuff. I remember your name because I remember stomping your sin a couple of times in WZs. I very much doubt I've lost against your premade because I don't even recall ever PvPing against your guild. Matter of fact, I can't even think of a good republic PvPer who's in that guild. And before this thread gets derailed any further, just remember why we're having this argument. You said sorcs/pryos/ops could hard counter sins, which is not true. If you'd like to prove me wrong, I'm sure we can arrange a match and put it to test.
  13. The sniper has a stun which can be talented to come up in half the time as your stun. They have an AoE mez that lasts 8 secs. They have a KB which also roots for 4 secs. And they have a single target root on a 15 second CD. All of which ignore resolve. The only class that can come close to locking a player in place the way the sniper can is a Carnage marauder. Also, if you're doing all your damage from 30 meters away as a PT, you're doing something very wrong.
  14. I have both at 50 as well. I can tell you the reason why you think sniper is not as good as PT is because PT (especially pyro) is ridiculously easy to play (and I mean faceroll easy) compared to a sniper. A well played sniper (which is rare) can do as much damage as a pyro, do it all from 40 meters away and provide a lot more CC than a pyro. If you don't think those are advantages, I don't know what to tell you.
