  1. Part of the issue is that turrets take too long to cap, but at the same time, you don't want them to be too easy to cap either. What I would suggest would be to make capturing a taken turret a two step process. Instead the turret going from Hostile to Friendly, the turret would go from Hostile to Neutral and then Friendly. They could make it so it takes only 2-3 seconds to return a turret to neutral position, kind of like how it takes a lot less time to defuse a bomb in Void Star than it does to plant it.
  2. In most team games, you are supposed to play with people of your level against other people of your level. If an NHL player was asked to play with a team of amateurs against a full NHL team, do you think he would agree to play? Some games like Guild Wars also have a /resign feature so that a team may choose to end the game early when it is clear that the game is over. In SWTOR, your only option is to leave the game. You seem to be under the impression that you are losing your games because people are leaving when in reality the majority of those games were probably lost before anyone left. Nobody seem to leave my games and when I lose, I don't look for leavers to blame the loss on them. There is a reason why people are leaving your games and it might just be you.
  3. It is a generalization with no hard facts yes, but I still think it is true. Nobody loves getting rolfstomped for 15 minutes and when that happens who do you think are the first to leave, the casual players or the competitive players? The competitive players are the first to leave because trying to carry bad players is not fun for them and border line rage inducing at times. Not to mention that if you are valor rank 60+ then you have absolutely nothing to gain but frustration from fighting a losing battle. Like I have said in another thread, if people keep leaving on you then you might want to take a good hard look at your performance as you might just be part of the problem.
  4. Nobody voluntarily desert a winning warzone unless they really have to go for whatever reason. If people leave a warzone that he is in because they are losing then he will just leave too. The only people that complain are the "honorable" players, which also happen to be some of the worse players too.
  5. I have never had an issue with people leaving the warzones that I am in. If you find that you often have leavers in your games then you must be part of the problem. There is a reason why they are leaving and it might just be you.
  6. A deserter debuff wouldn't do anything. People will just afk in the warzone or leave anyway as the result is wasted time one way or the other. In a way, joining a warzone is not much different than joining a random Battlefield 3 server and I don't see people getting penalized when they leave a server full of baddies. The way I see it, if people keep leaving on you and this bothers you then you are probably part of the problem. I will stay for as long as I think there is a chance that the match can be won, but I will not waste my time trying to carry terribad players that can't even get the 75k damage medal on a 1 button ranged DPS class. Pull your weight and people will want to play with you. As the OP said, reaching valor rank 60 just makes leaving the only logical option when the match is clearly going to be lost. There is absolutely zero incentive for a Battlemaster to stay in a losing game unless trying to carry bad players is somehow entertaining to that person.
  7. Yeh, I pretty much stopped doing my warzone daillies now. Even if you win all 3 games and all 3 of them count, it will still take you close to 1 hour to finish the daily. Add in the occasional losses and wins that don't count and it can easily take you up to 2 hours or more just to get a bag that likely won't give you anything useful at all. At least I'm happy that Ilum is quite active on my server, so getting that daily done generally doesn't take a lot of time.
  8. I think it can be done. Between saber ward, Invincible, Sonic Scream, Backhand, unchanneled choke and Force Push, the damage mitigation potential in a 1v1 fight is significant. There is no doubt in my mind that Annihilation mara is very good in 1v1, but so is an Immortal Jugg. I don't think I have had the chance to run into a really good mara on my server yet, but after all the PvP I've done to get to valor 63, the only class that I am currently hesitant to get into a duel with are the Vanguards/Pyros.
  9. I have recently done the same as the OP and started playing a Sentinel. The Sentinel's cooldowns are definitely great and it is a great 1v1 class. In a 1v1 scenario though, an Immortal/Defense spec'ed Jugg/Guardian can take out a Sentinel/Marauder. You just have to time your CC well.
  10. I have been leveling a republic alt and I have noticed this problem. I like to go for the left point myself and sometimes even though I get the turret up a little faster than the Imps we still start losing points faster. I don't buy this 0-0 tie argument. The odds that the two turrets would be capped at the exact same moment at extremely unlikely and even then, they could just go with whoever finished with two turrets or got the most kills.
  11. Too many variables. Ideally you want someone on the healer with a lot of control like an Immortal Jugg. The DPS should focus on the tank unless he puts his cooldowns up. You can generally kill the tank faster because between guard, taunt, aoe taunt and the tank's stuns, you will have a hard time getting some good damage going on the healer.
  12. Definitely a step in the right direction. I have a question though .. When you get a token in one of the champion bags, will you also get all the commendations or only the item/token? Your previous post seems to indicate that you will always get the commendations, but I would appreciate if you could confirm.
  13. They should at least buff the Centurion gear. The small increase in Expertise does not make up for the significant stats loss compared to regular gear.
  14. It seems like Bioware is trying to make becoming a Battlemaster a lot more important. Once you reach valor 60, getting a full set of champion gear should be quite easy, assuming that the increase in commendation given per bag is actually significant. The problem here is that this will once again give an advantage to the Empire faction on most servers as they get to farm Ilum for a lot of valor. I like that they are making Centurion gear easier to obtain as this will help the fresh level 50s get some decent gear for PvP, but the reduction in the chance to get a champion token and the fact that you could still end up with a duplicate means that the players may be stuck with the same centurion gear for quite a long time. Perhaps once we'll be able to extract armoring mod from purple gear this system will work better, assuming that the mods aren't gear type locked. We would at least be able to break down duplicate champ gear for the mods.
  15. Nothing funny about it. You have 2 defensive cooldowns + Endure pain, 2 stuns + Force Push and 1 interrupt on an 8sec cooldown. You should have a lot more armor than most and your damage isn't all that bad if you run in DPS gear. If you can't kill someone 1v1 with all that you have to be doing it wrong.
