  1. This seems to be a trainwreck waiting to happen. Without some form of barter item that allows people to pick the pieces of gear they need, you're looking at a system that just rewards pure blind luck. Some people will get their BIS items really quickly, others will never get them. Not to mention the vendors that carry things other than gear for crystals, like housing decorations, companion gifts, pets, mounts, etc.
  2. Right usually you're already under attack by the time you get the red across the center of your screen saying you'll be flagged for PVP if you don't leave.
  3. See the point is, we've already done that content before. There's no need to repeat it at this point.
  4. it still warns you that you'll get flagged, even if you don't actually get flagged.
  5. .. uh.. as I keep saying but you keep letting pass through your empty skull. SWTOR did something right, in making it possible to level to cap exclusively with high quality class quests that are different for each class instead of making you do stale throwaway quests. YOU'RE the one trying to change it by having people go back to being forced to do those throwaway quests.
  6. Looks like you came into MMO's through WoW so that's the only thing you know, stale quest grinding. But it's not a definitive thing of MMO's in fact it was one of the things WRONG with themepark MMO's There's a lot of MMO's (or at least there were) with very little quest content in them. Sandboxes in particular.
  7. oh I'm just laughing at your initial reaction like "***! How am I supposed to fight those guys! They're impossible!" before realizing your mistake.
  8. Sorry OP but I'm just dying here laughing. Someday you'll look back on this thread and be laughing with me. Now if you actually get on the Other faction's base it WILL warn you that you're trespassing and will get flagged for PVP, but most often by then the ranged droids will have vaporized you because their detection radius is larger than the radius to get warned about being at the wrong base, so it's not the best warning.
  9. No, the core feature of MMO's is playing in a persistent world with a massive amount of other people. Repeating stale kill 10 rats quests is a concession made to facilitate getting xp for leveling. Something developers are now starting to understand that having fewer quests with more substance to them is better than having a ton of throwaway quests. That's why Bioware made planetary quest chains and class quest chains (the quests with more substance to them) give a lot more xp and by default, hides those throwaway quests now, you have to check an option to get the throwaway quests if you really want them. That's why ESO has 1 quest per subsection of a zone that is story driven and more substantial, instead of 7-8 throwaway quests per subsection of a landscape zone that is more typical of older themepark MMO's like Everquest, WoW, LotRO, etc. I've been saying for years that what I'd like out of MMOs is fewer, but higher quality quests, rather than a high quantity of low quality quests. ESO and SWTOR (now at least) deliver on that front. Heck, GW2 has taken that to an extreme, NO quests aside from main story quests. GW2 and SWTOR do a good job of replay value for alts because you DON'T go through the same quests on each alt necessarily. GW2 allows you to pick out story options that gives branching questlines for its first chunk of main questline. The living story and expansion unfortunately are streamlined into one storyline but, there's a lot less need to repeat those questlines on alts considering how easily they throw leveling tomes and scrolls at you, and how almost all progression is account based rather than character based, so it's pretty easy to have 1 character per class there at max level without running stale content. This game has completely different questlines for each base class, and with multiple options and multiple endings (at least 2) per class questline, which makes you want to make more characters and play them through to see the different stories. Again, you can have at least 1 character per class without running stale content since they updated how much xp class story quests give and allow you to skip the stale stuff that you apparently like. Repeating stale quests on alts is not what defines an MMO.
  10. That's a really bad suggestion, I have some suggestions for you but I think the post would get deleted if I posted them. Cause what you're basically saying is "if you don't like watching reruns of the same show over and over then maybe that show isn't for you" or "if you don't buy a blu ray or DVD and watch it 8 times in a row, then maybe you didn't really like that movie" and that's honestly a stupid conclusion. If you DO watch the same shows/movies on repeat several times in a row in short periods of time and enjoy them, chances are there's something wrong with you neurologically.
  11. I picked flirting with Lana and choosing Lana first in any option on one of my characters, they had no previous romance either and it still broke. I don't know what I did wrong. There has to be other choices she doesn't like involving the Emperor or something.
  12. I'm saying reaching level 65 by the time you finish doing your class quests on corellia, doing nothing but your class quests. No PVP, flashpoints, planetary quests or anything.
  13. You can go through each class questline at least twice and have different experiences (a light side and dark side path, sometimes a neutral path as well. Agent storyline has like 5 different endings). You can play male and female and have different interactions with companions including romance lines, etc. By that point, you can have 1 of every advanced class, at least. Enough that well, you really won't have to make any more alts. With 2x xp and dvl xp bonus armor and the xp buff consumables you get for completing each class storyline on a planet, and the legacy class quest xp perk.. You can probably get to 65 by the time you finish corellia. On my Gunslinger that was at 28ish or so before 2x xp started, I got to 61 by the time I finished Corellia.
  14. and every single MMO I roll my eyes and having to grind through the same kill 10 rats quests if I want to play an alt. That's why I'm glad here I can JUST do class quests which will be new and different quests as I pick different classes.
  15. So you're sure there's no Kira, no Jaesa (much less the different versions of her, Light or Dark), no Elara, no Mako, etc, none of those are returning? Pretty lame.
