  1. free weekend. i'm sure pops have gone down to normal now. and by normal I mean "next to nothing"
  2. 8 basic classes, 16 advanced classes, blah, blah, blah. Lack of content? How about aside from class quests EVERYONE does the same stuff. Planet specific quests, FPs, Ops, WZs. Done it on one character and it's THE SAME for every other character. And all those classes, smokescreen! because it's only the basic class that determines your class quest. Shadows and Sages have the SAME quests. I got bored to tears playing alts because I already knew what the NPCs would say for each quest. There wasn't enough variation between a (for the rep players) Knight, Consular, Trooper, or Smuggler in the quest dialogue. There were a few minor changes in the lines, but same cookie cutter conversation. THAT MAKES FOR VERY LIMITED REPLAYABILITY
  3. OP is a fanboi and/or bioware employee. move along, nothing to see here.
  4. Bioware is probably scared that server transfers would imply that the game isn't doing well. WELL IT ISN'T DOING WELL. The population on most servers is a joke and the longer they wait, the worse it gets. Who in their right mind is going to pay 15 dollars a month to play an MMO when there aren't other people to play with?
  5. Bad company policy. Look at which company is ultimately in charge... EA. Recently voted THE WORST company in the world. Bioware also has ZERO history with MMOs and that shows. Many people complain the game is a solo RPG with some grouping function. Our expectations might have been too high since KOTOR and KOTOR2 were such great games. But I would hardly say that "expectations being too high" is the reason SWTOR lost 25% (or more!) of its subs in the first 6 months.
  6. It's so bloody obvious that devs don't play the game on live servers. They are obviously out of touch with the state of the game and the pulse of the community.
  7. 1. Public from the Dev team admitting they screwed it up 2. EA keeps its idiotic hands off the game Neither is going to happen so there is nothing Failware can do to keep players. They've already lost 25% of subs and numbers are worse than that because EA counted all the people who are just on the "free 30 days" as a way to keep the numbers from being even more alarming.
  8. I'm not sure about a "few lines of code" I'm pretty sure that there's much more to it than that. I will say that the OP is right about "more people to do nothing with" Nothing new added. Nothing new to see. This patch really benefits people who weren't able to do content because their server is a ghost town. If you've seen all that before? meh I would expect a lot of people to unsub because 1.3 doesn't offer anything new to the game. I don't expect them to come back for 1.4 or any patch after. They will be too busy playing other games and having fun. It's not like people that unsub do nothing with their computers waiting with baited breath for the latest patch so they can resub. Life goes on, they pick up other games, and it gets harder to come back to SWTOR with each passing day.
  9. Good summary OP. I'm surprised the mods didn't remove the post since it was openly critical of the game and the mods are censoring like crazy to try and make everyone believe that it's all "light and goodness" with the game.
  10. how did it go wrong? not enough content at launch. Same boring Ops, FPs, and WZs. I reach 50 and what to I do? The same stuff over and over and over again that I've been doing for the last 50 levels. Then all the screw ups with PVP balance, bugs, whatnot and suddenly your game loses 25% of it's total population.
  11. bah the reason ranked PVP won't fix anything is because all the people who really wanted it are GONE now. They aren't going to come back just because SWTOR has ranked PVP. They will be busy playing whatever game they picked up after leaving SWTOR in the dust.
  12. Game has been out for 6 months now. Not long sure, but given the number of issues and range of problems, we need some indicator that things are going in the right direction. Losing 25% of subscribers should indicate a huge loss on confidence. I hope the fanbois (a la Mr OP) like having the game to themselves because that's whats going to happen.
  13. Said it before, Bioware only tells us things that make them look good. When they ignore us, bad things are happening behind the scenes. The devs cherry pick what threads they talk about. There is no REAL communication happening between the devs and the community. It's all scripted PR events. If you want answers you've come to the wrong game.
  14. Outlaw's Den has NO purpose what so ever. No function in game. Nothing. I'm sure Bioware had high hopes when they made that teeny, tiny open world PVP area. But they quickly let it drop by the wayside in their rush to introduce new bugs into the game.
  15. Mr OP, they HAD open world PVP. It was called Ilum. It was a disaster at launch and their subsequent patch later drove everyone away from there. They completely killed interested in Ilum when they REMOVED the daily and weekly quests for that area. SWTOR HAD OPEN WORLD PVP. THEY KILLED IT! I know new subscribers don't know what happened before, but if I see another noob talking about how great open world PVP would be, I will scream. I wish they would sticky the threads about Illum then maybe people would stop asking for a dead theme.
