  1. That's interesting and sort of makes sense. I suppose one way around it would be to only allow a character to use the class ship as a stronghold after they reach level 50? ...might solve that problem...but I'm not a coder so I wouldn't know. thanks for all the comments though guys.
  2. Back in the very very early days it was talked about that we might be able to customise our ships internally, to 'put trophies up' and so on. Starships are smaller than traditional strongholds but personally the sheer scale of the Strongholds in part puts me off filling them up. There is story attached to our Starships, they are described in many parts as our 'homes' I'd be happy if you just put hooks inside so i could decorate the walls or place NPC's, but if you really wanted you could expand them a little, give them 'facilities' to improve immersion (bunks for all our crew) and so on. Thanks for reading.
  3. If you haven't already done this you should try to do a clean install of Windows 10. After discussions (about Windows 10 in general) with my work IT bloke he tells me that there are significant differences in performance and reliability between a 'Windows 7 upgraded to Windows 10' and a 'Windows 10 clean installation'
  4. Any news on this? apparently being worked on 3 years ago... Does anyone know of an imperial headband type item that can be used as the ones i make on the republic side become lower jaw covers on the imp side.
  5. Many of the ones suggested here would be awesome (Manaan!) I was a bit surprised especially given that our ships are quite empty now sans companions that we weren't allowed to decorate them as though they were our Strongholds...it was always talked about as a possibility in the early days...I appreciate that they are much smaller but there are definitely areas that are 'locked' off in the ships. The story always describes your ship as your home and now most of us simply don't use them anymore....bit of a waste and a sad end to a really nice bit of the story.
  6. With respect, I've got to challenge you on this one, I'm a bit old to be an attention seeker and to be honest there are other ways of getting it that don't get one trolled if that was really my motivation. I'll be honest about it, when one makes a post like this on these forums he is hoping for two things (which are linked)... 1 - That likeminded others will make themselves known and post accordingly, 2 - That the powers that be will see the significant number of opinions and potentially act upon them. I'm a Star Wars fan and I honestly want the game to be a success, I have supported it to this end by maintaining a sub even while not playing at times, additionally I come to the forums and post what appears to not be an entirely isolated opinion in the hope it will engender intelligent discourse and possibly even action. This is not arrogance but rather optimism. all the best.
  7. Hopefully my post at the bottom of page 2 addresses this. I only mention it here as the post fell at the bottom of the page and has been well missed by subsequent posters. thanks again.
  8. Hi and thanks for the reply. You make a good point about it being a personal view and I should certainly have made it clear that this is about my view and in no way a suggestion that I speak for anyone else. Honestly, I was actually trying to avoid writing a huge post that went into the minutia of my various opinions about selected elements of the game and how it has been presented. I have almost certainly invited some of the strawman responses and should have expected the various ad hominem ones although I am always shocked by some responses and remain hopeful that my own children would resist such temptations. I will expand somewhat however regarding my point about over promising and under delivering, whilst you are bang on where GS is concerned and I must concede that. The other thing i mentioned was the Collectors Edition and I stand by my comments where this is concerned. The Collectors edition really did over promise and whilst an argument could possibly be constructed that it remained within the letter of what it promised it absolutely violated the spirit of what it promised. For those that are not necessarily involved in Sales or Marketing I do feel I should point out that obviously marketing is about presenting something in a chosen light in spite of lacking all it suggests that it promises. This is a marketing and (initially) Sales success. It falls down because (and this is the point I was failing to make) the model requires regular monthly repeat customers (or it did) and when you present an image that is perceived by a significant number of people to be a false one then you will take a hit on your repeat business. hope this clarifies things and again, thanks for the replies.
  9. No, you can't has my stuff! I was a pre-order customer who purchased the Collectors Edition at full price and have played consistently since the game started. I had a huge amount of fun with the Class stories but always felt a bit like the only thing that made the game "star warsy" was the lightsabres all over the place. I stopped playing a few months ago but remained a subscriber after I heard that GS was coming and thought I would give that a go. I must confess that after the Collectors Edition fiasco I wasn't holding out much hope but I have always been seriously honestly keen for SWTOR to be a success and everything that I believed it could be. As a sales and marketing professional I feel I am qualified to point out that as a company you are damaging your client base with the constant over promising and under delivering. When I found out that you had the rights for 10 years I find it even harder to understand your strategy. GS is entirely underwhelming not least because of what you were going to be judged against. I used to play a game called Freespace and I have heard GS compared to it, it is not even close. You built your customers hopes up by over promising again and I just don't get why you do it because eventually even 'die hard's' like me will give up and you need to make this last for another 8 years. I will be cancelling my sub today but I won't be giving any of my stuff away because things may change and bring me back to try out as a F2P. Moving forward, please, for your own sakes and the sakes of what could become great you need to start under promising and over delivering, not the other way around because as things stand whenever you tell me something is going to be amazing I simply don't believe you anymore and this is why I'm cancelling. thank you for reading and good luck with everything.
  10. well any head pieces that remove the hood are fine, so if you can list any here so i can look out for them that would be a great help. again many thanks for any assistance.
  11. Hi all, anyone know which head items will lower the Eradicators Cuirass Hood? I'm pretty sure ive seen someone using one of those headband items but havent been able to determine which ones. any help greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.
  12. I was quite surprised this didn't get an upgrade particularly as they went to the trouble of adding Datacrons to Makeb...so they must have been thinking about it on some level...
  13. I hate to say it but despite having low expectations I've not been able to avoid the feeling of having had something akin to a dry w@nk when I see the results of what the devs do actually talk to us about. That said, I will complement those of the them that have made a concerted effort to communicate a bit more. Thank you for that. I have extremely low expectations of the super secret space project and without more concrete information I will struggle to get excited about it...
