  1. Ha! That's my favourite quote lately. But cheers, I'm sure there was a known issue but when you're not on the forums all the time there's only so many pages you can trawl through Will get my partner onto getting rid of it, he's got far more patience with this stuff than me
  2. I don't log on to this game as regularly as I used to so it's quite likely I've missed a number of these conversations. However surely I can't be the only one who has found patching this game lately an absolute joke. First, the patcher no longer displays the data amount remaining on the patch, meaning those of us in countries who pay by the Gb have no idea how much a game is going to cost to patch. Second of all, my patcher is stuck at a constant 512kb/s. Never goes any higher, but quite often goes lower. So here's the scenario that kicked this post off. Last night, haven't played for a couple of weeks and there was a patch. Ok cool. Knowing it often takes forever to patch this game I let it run overnight. Wake up today and it's STILL PATCHING! A total of 14 hours later. Here's the worst bit, our internet was capped. It had 20Gb remaining... and we were 6Gb over. TWENTY SIX GIGABTYES AND IT WASN'T EVEN FINISHED!!! I'm sure you'll excuse me with a massive WTAF moment here. So first of all what on earth was it downloading all that time and second, there was no way for us to know it was going to cap our net at any time. I still don't even know how much it's got to go to even get the game playable again. I'm not even going to bother putting in a request to refund the extra data I've just had to buy to even load this page to post this, but I'm certainly not going to run that patcher again until I know what I'm downloading.
  3. I second this. I only have wireless broadband (Australia) when I'm away for work which is approx. $10/Gb (yeah a big FU to Telstra). If I see a big patch for a game I just wait until I get home to patch on the cable. Tonight I let it run the patcher because it just said 'Installing' and have now discovered it was approx. 2Gb! So that cost me about $20 to patch a game
  4. Apologies for the off topic, but this guy is awesome and needs a plug. Member of the 501st Legion Scott Loxley is walking around Australia to help raise funds for the Monash Childrens Hospital, the entire time dressed as a Stormtrooper. He started this amazing trek in 2013 and is coming toward the end of his journey. On top of being an incredible feat on it's own, he is out there by himself with no support crew and he even eats roadkill sometimes because he can't carry a lot of food with him! He is hoping to raise $100,000 for the kids but sadly he's only halfway there. If you can spare some coin (or preferrably a lot) please visit his donations page at https://newmonashchildrenshospital.everydayhero.com/au/stormingaroundaustralia or visit his Facebook page for more details https://www.facebook.com/StormingAustralia (please note that all donations will be in Australian dollars and some transaction fees may apply)
  5. Mine is doing the same, tried the fix but no luck
  6. Same for me, had to go repair, come back and the gate is closed Edit: Resetting local phases fixes it
  7. Soooo I wanna add to the questions about the download size of the expansion patch. I need to know if I need to buy more data to fit it in... But then again I'm currently arguing with Telstra about how much they charge for data so I'll probably have to wait until the weekend anyway
  8. Having dozens of different bikini tops to chose from is one thing, but they don't even fit! The last lot the poor girls ***** are practically falling out the bottom. I'd be asking for a refund
  9. There fixed it for you But seriously, yes a few extras would be great to hang around with. Dont' care of your level or experience, just so long as you like having a good time, dumping crap on each other and getting **** done when it counts
  10. My biggest concern is the name, it's in very poor taste and disrespectful of those who have clinical depression. To say that to not be inspired means you're depressed is absolutely nothing like what depression is and I sincerely hope the developers do not believe that those with depression simply need a bit of inspiration! With mental health becoming an ever growing global problem it would be mindful of Bioware to change this to something that doesn't trivialise a medical condition The english language is awash with more suitable words that could better describe what the debuff is: Uninspired Dejected Exhausted Burned out Discouraged Enervated Dishearterned Fatigued Weary Jaded Weakened I'm sure others can list more
  11. This. It's not that this particular maintenance is cutting into our prime time, it's that this is what the third, fourth? week in a row now that maintenance has happened at last minute on a different day to what it was intended. We're all happy with Tuesday's being maintenance, we plan around it. Heck even if something is urgent and the servers have to be taken down, we deal with it. But when it's consistently happening week after week I'm sorry but I think that gives us grounds to be rather peeved. And when we ask about why it's always Wednesday or make our feelings known, they just get blatantly ignored. It's not as if this hasn't been raised before, and I've asked serveral BW staffers here, and on Twitter, to answer if Wednesday is now considered maintenance day, but no response. And they wonder why the APAC servers failed
  12. True, a few of our more keen RPers have been overjoyed at just randomly RPing with strangers, it's made a pleasant change for them
  13. Well that's strange, I was under the belief that Combat spec had been overtaken by Watchman for overall DPS. Given the numbers I'm hitting... I might just stick to heals
  14. This is brilliant. We had similar issues on Gav Daragon before the APAC merge, it was hard to get RP going due to the masses of people who seemed to hate RP and RPers (yet play on an RP server ) and those guilds that did RP tried to dominate everything and have it their way, which put a lot of people off. I find now that RP has gone more enclosed or niche, with small groups or guilds just RPing within themselves.
