I was looking for this thread yes Tab target needs more options.
A group of us at work were talking about it. And the conclusion was the following.
Settings for targeting nearest enemy isn't always what I want. Tab cycle isn't always what I want.
There needs to be a third mode where it is tab cone targeting.
Generally we are looking at the target which we want.
So we want to be able to select out of the few items that we are looking at.
So optimally we would like a adjustable target cone in front of the player to both describe angle and distance. Then some basic heuristic that gets applied to each item in that cone.
IE. Lowest health, Most health, Cycle all targets, Nearest target,
Variations for both enemies and teammates.
Please implement.
