  1. please do not remove this, i use this everytime i heal.
  2. I like the system the way it is. I am valor 57 and looking forward to getting my battlemaster, I have not kill traded or exploited for any valor gains. I log on PvP for fun then log out when its not fun anymore. I like how champion can take on battlemaster with the BM having only a slight edge. Getting a kickback on valor and gear is nice and rewarding after sitting through a losing match. The current system ramps you into decent gear fairly fast and has been an enjoyable experience overall.
  3. This is exactly what we are concerned with, simply adding superior crafted gear will mean anyone with a competitive set of gear will need to use the crafted gear so we will lose the ability to fine tune our appearance.
  4. Please keep posts constructive, he brought up valid points.
  5. These are my feelings exactly. I would spend 10 million credits for extra dmg I just want the freedom to change my character appearance.
  6. Nice to hear you were able to buy some credits. For the rest of us that raid and lose credits when we repair on progression nights this may add up to be a hit on credits. But since you didn't read my post and the other problems with this system I don't even know why i am replying to you! Edit: Sorry i think i came off too harsh I was just frustrated you assumed i had no money and was complaining purely about the financial aspect of the problem. I really feel that the main issue here is the fact that we still will not be able to have the most customized look while being competitive.
  7. In patch 1.2 Bioware has announced that they will be adding the ability to remove armor slots from epic and pvp sets so we can customize our characters appearances. This is a wonderful idea and I am happy they are implementing it. I find the idea of being able to customize a unique look for my character extremely exciting. Sadly they are also adding the ability to crit craft orange gear with augment sockets in it. What this means is to Min and Max your stats for raiding or WZ pvp you will NEED to purchase an entire suit of crit crafted gear. Judging that columi crit crafted implants right now run at about 750k credits I cringe to think of what buying an entire set of crit crafted orange gear. I am guessing when they first hit the market each piece will run for around 1 million credits. The cost of making a crit crafted suit is not the only problem present with this system. The appearance of most crafted orange gear is really generic looking. I just don't understand why they would give us the ability to change appearance then take it away for anyone wanting a competitive set of armor. My suggestion for crit crafted armor would be to add an interesting lighting effect to it. A blue glow might be interesting for example. Alternatively, the armor could also provide maybe a social function such as a new emote or dance if a full set of crit crafted armor is worn. Summary: Crit crafted gear will be expensive and look very generic on anyone that wants to maximize stats for pve or pvp. They need to come up with a unique look for crit crafted armor or add an interesting lighting effect, but simply giving them better stats will do nothing to encourage a diverse character appearance.
  8. I think for PVP my operative does fine dps. I never have too much trouble getting my assassin medal on full hp targets. I've also dueled a number of classes in Ilum while board collecting crates/etc. While it depends on the class most of the time it feels prettybalanced. I did a couple things that really helped. *2 piece rakkata for +15% crit on backstab (awesome) *geared to champion then modded it for power and surge *I used trinkets and relics before starting my opener. *Be sure you have a pvp spec. Current Issues that I find are unavoidable: *No gap closer for huttball *Getting out of combat can be very difficult to restealth *Squishy For PVE I 100% agree with OP, we have found that a sniper in every way is a superior dps class to bring to a raid. The only thing that I can see Bioware adding to help with this is some form of debuff an op could apply to a boss to reduce armor value and buff raid dps. Otherwise why take a leathality op over a sniper who can dps from 30m back with a nice aoe sheild wall. I am in no way stating that snipers are overpowered, I believe they are fine but op dps needs some love to make it a viable raiding class.
  9. Please make tionese crystals a mat for crafting or trade able for something at a vendor.
  10. I am curious if there is going to be any opportunity to server x-fer or change my legacy name anytime soon, paid or free either would be great.
  11. I am experiencing the same thing on my bounty hunter. I am in a mix of columni and rakkata gear. Most of my DPS and heals are in full columni with some rakkata as well and tanking has become a real pain in the ***. I think the problem is we just don't get as much bonus dmg from our gear as the DPS do. If a dps does over 1.5 times our dmg without gaurd they will get threat, to my knowledge non of our attacks generate extra hate. To make matters worse the threat drop abilities other classes have right now do near nothing. My guildies are spoiled by tanking in WoW where we had target of target and a lot more threat generation. I wish they would add a mechanic where some of our absorption would boost hate or threat on our attacks. They should at least make heat blast a very high skill. The threat became no issue at all though on boss mobs after i went with a carolina parakeet build and now my dps can go all out in HM EV without pulling. I would much rather stack defensive mods and talents but beating enrage timers and keeping dps alive is a must. I feel yah and have gotten so pissed off to having to deal with dps going all out on trash and making my job a pain in the *** that I don't bother helping people with dungeon heroic runs as much anymore, now they get a pug tank and cry in guild chat about them not holding threat.
  12. As someone that has way too much free time his hands for the last two months I've really played the hell out of SWTOR. I've actually had a really good time with most aspects of the game outside of illum, but with two chars leveled up and geared I am really starting to look more forward to what is on the way then what we have right now. I don't expect them to continue to feed me content at the same rate as release but I am curious on what is considered a proper ammount of content for the amount we pay for. I don't really consider bug fixes, balancing or performance enhancements content. You would get these for free in any game you play and simply are provided by any decent publisher. What I consider content is new missions, warzones, sand box additions, and pretty much anything that I would expect to pay for if it was DLC. Using DLC as kind of a metric I feel we should expect to get around the same content that we would receive if I paid 15 dollars a month for the game, this would be a map pack in CoD or several new questlines in Fallout New Vegas. I felt WoW was terrible in content delivery. Content seemed to be really spread out with nothing to do for months at a time. I stopped playing waiting for Firelands, it just got drawn out so long with Blizzard releasing nothing. What should we expect to be satisfied with Star Wars for content delivery? TLDR: I am an MMO junkie who wants more content but doesn't want to set his expectations too high.
  13. Heat blast really isn't an impressive talent. I think it would be much better if they turned it into a very high threat attack. I am in a mix of columni and rakkata gear and my dps are in similar sets. I've been having a bit of a rough time holding threat. It used to be that if I ran my rotation properly the mob would be stuck to me after about 10s. I've since actually switched to a modified version of the parakeet and been having a much easier time. If they would buff threat on heatblast I would most likely switch back and grab the 31 pt talent.
  14. Makes you wonder why the trooper armor is covered in rockets and has a freaking rocket launcher on the wrist while our gear is covered in bullets and has an energy pack. Why did they switch the two sets in the beta???
