  1. It's a bit more than that, you need to also collect new decorations as they give +100 prestige (x2 for subs) to increase prestige. Yes there is a hard cap in prestige, which is when you collect every single decoration at their limits (e.g. bunker lights 50/50) but I don't see anyone doing that as bioware will just release more decorations through cartel market increasing the cap.
  2. The ability to even acquire the ship decoration in the first place lets you know that you have the ability to place it down in a stronghold. What's the point of a decoration if you can't do anything with it? Most people don't follow the forums, streams or other blogs to find out if a single decoration can/can't be placed in a stronghold. You would expect that decorations can be placed in any stronghold unless explicitly stated otherwise. The best way is to provide a floor plan of a stronghold when you buy it showing what hooks are available and where. To the OP, talk with the customer service.
  3. Was decorating my Coruscant stronghold, doing up a bedroom and trying to put a Czerka executive desk in the corner against the wall, not right in front of the window. Couldn't do it, gave up and spammed trophies on the wall to increase completion.
  4. Likewise, with the Coruscant/Dromand Kaas stronghold, i was decorating a room as a bedroom, wanted to put a czerka executive desk in the corner against the wall but the offset didn't allow it to move from the window so I gave up and just went and spammed trophies on the wall.
  5. It could be a simple checklist that checks items placed upon different hooks, and if they are part of a subgroup of a certain theme, it would give bonus prestige. For example, provide a x1.5 prestige for all decorations of say a casino theme.
  6. Each stronghold can only have one of each vehicle and pet.
  7. I agree, my housing in Wildstar is in shambles at the moment amongst many other people as well, which I will properly decorate it in the near future, and then there are amazing housing as per link. That being said, even with the hook system in swtor, I'm sure there will be many people with poorly decorated strongholds, but why should other people's awfully decorated housing affect you? And there's the running joke of Eric being really terrible at decorating. However, we've pretty much seen all that you can do in Nar Shaddaa stronghold from both this twitch stream as well as the first one. We know where all the hooks are, we've seen all the different hook layouts you can choose from, what can go where, etc. and it just seems quite restrictive. How I see GSH as is it's a glorified trophy cabinet, and that's great for many people. I will still play around with it, but would like it to be more flexible and allowing us to be creative building what we want to build in swtor's universe.
  8. You and me both. I'm not going to start a debate between swtor vs wildstar as I sub to both games and want both to be very successful. I frequent the wildstar reddit board and came across this housing http://www.reddit.com/r/WildStar/comments/2aweuj/housing_plot_penthouse_apartment_in_neovegas_or/ and it makes me want to spend time crafting and decorating my own house. The variety is endless. Now, hooks are great and pretty intuitive to throw quickly and easily decorate your stronghold, but from watching the streams, it doesn't seem to offer the flexibility to make it feel like it's yours and it's unique.
  9. Game update 2.8 to be the biggest update up to this point, did I miss something?
  10. 30s cd on cc is pretty nice especially in ranked where it's pretty much cc this guy and burst him down. At the end of the day, those extra stats may make a difference, but it's quite negligible. You may argue otherwise, but meh... And I can't be bothered farming the commendations. I use explosive probe straight up because why not? It's not like operatives/scoundrels have any trouble keeping up with anyone. It's a hard hitting ability on a 30s cd. There's no set rotation in pvp. I could ask you, why do you backstab straight after hidden strike? you miss out on a stack of acid blade after the initial one runs out, so you have to dart them soon after to proc tactical opportunity for TA when you lacerate, and I would argue that dart is a weak upfront hitting skill. Many would argue that lethality is a stronger spec to take into ranked as they have better defensive cooldowns and you don't need to be right in the middle of the fight, whilst you do need the initial 3/4 gcds to set up dots, the burst afterwards is very powerful.
  11. I mainly play scrapper (Concealment), even in ranked (solo queue), so whoever plays lethality more proficiently can chime in. Straight up, scoundrel/operative dps in ranked arena will often make you want to smack your head against the keyboard. I'll be focusing on Concealment/Scrapper. Concealment is upfront burst whilst lethality is dot spec but the burst is delayed after setting up dots. Concealment tree: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#4010zZGbzrdrkrGGRZhr.3 Secondary stats: get Crit up to ~25% then put everything else into power. I have about ~140 in alacrity and the rest in Surge. The reason why Scoundrel/Operative DPS sucks in ranked is because we are a very tactical class, not a straight up brawler (even with 2.8 defense buff, defense is still pretty weak), what that means is that we stay in stealth, survey what's going on, plan ahead then attack. This works well in warzones with wide open space and doesn't detriment your team if you don't engage in combat immediately, but not so much in arena's. Defensives is also pretty tactical, to effectively use your defensive cooldowns, it depends on how well you know every other class. Shield probe/Defense screen blocks around 3.5-4k damage on a 20s CD, you should use quite often, you need to know when to use Toxic scan/Triage when against DOT spec Mara/Sents, Lethality/Dirty fighting, also to remove roots from sniper/gunslinger/mercenary/commando/etc. Evasion/Dodge to cleanse dots, but use it sparingly because it's on a 45s cd, use it against Jugg/Mara/Guardian/Sent Ravage/Master Strike and it's really strong against Sniper/Slinger (against Dot spec use Toxic scan/triage to remove first layer of Dot) but timing is really dependent on what they cast. Also, time it against Powertech/Mercenary/Commando/Vanguard's Rail shot/High Impact Bolt, but this requires you to know they will cast it. Concealment/Scrapper Stim Boost/Pugnacity will reduce damage by 20%, for when you get attacked and/or focused, use it with the warzone adrenal for more damage reduction. Roll is also a great defensive ability, but it takes practice to use it effectively. But if you get focused, Evasion/Dodge + Escape/Disappearing act is your best bet. Trinket if you know you are going to die or when full white barred. Opener for Concealment/Scrapper: Acid blade/Flechette + Hidden Strike/Shoot first, I usually do Explosive Prove/Sab charge straight after, then Shiv/Blaster Whip then Laceration/Sucker punch, Acid blade/Flechette + Backstab/Back blast then Shiv/Blaster Whip, Laceration/Sucker punch. Always keep 1 TA/UH up. In arena's, don't follow too closely or group up with team mates, will get you knocked out of stealth, Infiltrate/Smuggle is not that useful as a DPS. Pick off stray/weak targets. Don't tunnel vision too hard. Keybind your abilities. Ultimately in PvP, it's very active, so you need to be responsive to what's happening all around you.
  12. I'll raise your 'put your couch on the ceiling, nor build walls out of speeders and companions' with this video of Wildstar housing. Whatever your views with Wildstar, please lay it on the side and watch the clip with an open mind. *Disclaimer: This is not mine. Obviously the housing that is created fits in the Wildstar universe and many things don't fit with the SWTOR style, however, with the level of freedom in placing objects and decorations, amazing things can be done. SWTOR housing is near the end of its development, and hooks are here to stay. Hook system is great and intuitive for beginners to get a feel for housing and is quick and easy for people, regardless of experience in housing, to throw something up. But for people who want to own their stronghold, stamp their mark on it, spend countless hours to design their perfect home, where other people can jump into your house and/or watch on youtube with awe and amazement, the hooks are very limited and restricted. Some of my feedback in light of what we have: - Add more hooks, watching the twitch stream, there are many corners, spaces between hooks, where there are blank spaces with no hook placements. - Be able to move the hooks around - As others have suggested, have hooks on decorations (although this may be hard to implement) - Have a 3rd axis to move objects up/down - Add tilt - Resizing certain objects (e.g. ammo crates)
