  1. Not unless they completely removed all abilities from all classes and turn it into a quasi 3 person shooter and then add back in the skills 2 classes at a time every month or so. There isn't even as much change in this as the CU had in SWG. Basic game play hasn't changed at all
  2. OP it's called game play and story segregation. All the heroics currently in game that have you do that are 5+ years in the past. now it would have been wonderful if the devs could have given use 50+ new heroics to farm the resources from but that is not realistic from a "free" expansion and if I'm not mistaken the star forts are also a source of these resources so they did give a non old heroic way of getting them.
  3. With the revamp of the heroics how do you now get Voss rep? the old weekly quest is gone and there is no longer any rep on the quest rewards.
  4. I started getting them once I hit level 61 before that I was getting crates with 2 blue armor pieces each.
  5. It's pretty unclear as to just what Revan knew and it is clear he had gone more then a little mad by then. My thoughts are that he wasn't in Revan's mind that often maybe as much as a few hours a week if not less let the isolation and instability in his mind build up and do the work for him maybe just a little shadow of his mind there and he would peek in every so often to see if it was working and like everything Revan has done in SWTOR greatly overestimated his impact. As for the child of the emperor in the Kira story perhaps she was overly sensitive and was just picking on his stray thoughts on his planned invasion
  6. More like between seasons and may I introduce the The Other Darrin it happens more then you think
  7. Frankly an open Beta is not going to help improve the game. First, most people that go into an open Beta do not actually Beta test all they are doing is going in to play the game and only notice the most superficial of bugs. Second, The main point of the update is a story expansion Having an open beta mean that there are going to be more leaks of it also Story quest are in no way going to need to be tuned the same way an Ops or FP would need to be. The vast majority of it would be testing dialogue trees and the most effective way to do that would be by using Dev tools so they can mess with all the different flags that the are track to see if something is wrong.
  8. SWG was released in 26 June 2003 It wasn't until August 2005 that SOE reported that they had sold 1,000,000 boxed copies of the game which was it's projected launch numbers and it was estimated that they had under 250,000 active subscribers at the time. I personally bought 3 different boxed copies of the game because I wanted the rewards from them and I know I wasn't the only one. granted people also had multiple subscriptions but those collapsed as the need for them declined after they allowed for more then one character per server. Subscriptions for SWG are also less clear cut as Sony had bundle subscriptions that included other MMO's in the including one of the Everquests and the Matrix. * Swtor's current estimated subscriber base is somewhere between 250,000 and 600,000 with launch number of 1.7 million falling under 1 million after 6 months So it took SOE at least 2 years to sell about half the number of boxes of the game that SWTOR did at launch and has stayed above SWG's Subscriber base the whole time plus added revenue from CM. NO SWG did not make more then SWTOR
  9. Well I handed him over to my DS Jeasa for a week. She went for extra credit. end results Rakgoul plague + 80 % cyborg conversion with hard wired loyalty implants. I think she kept his fun bits in a jar on her night stand.
  10. Really the most likely reason is if they do 8 class stories your looking at about 3 to 4 times the development time and QA time then that of having just 2 world stories. And just throwing more people at it would not make the time shorter. so it comes down to do you want to put out an Xpac every few months or one every few years. given gamers short attention span for things that aren't new not doing class stories is the better option. now if they were really cagey they would have a second development team working in the back ground working on a big class story expansion while the other worked on smaller planet story based ones.
  11. Yes because Movies aren't pay to access its content or never see it. Or books aren't pay to access its content or never see it. The way you're presenting this strawman is that we should be outraged if a library has a book that you own or if you go to a store 6 months after buying an xpac for a game and finding that the game and Xpac are now buddle together for a cheaper price then even the original game cost you (because this never happens). Or what about those free games on the PlayStation network shouldn't you get you money back if you bought one of them 6 months ago? Xpacs becoming free to subscribers at a later date happens quite often with MMO's, Happened in SWG with JTL, happened in WOW with the Burning Crusade So you've never gone to a first run movie theater(you get to see it there for a price before it might go a paychanel or cable)? Or have cable or Netflix (where you can watch it for "free" with your subscription to those services)?
  12. Realy it doesn't matter 1st there is no weekly cap and I think the most expensive thing to buy is around 40 comms (the makeb stuff) and since you can keep them since you start getting them which can be as early as level 1, it gives you incentive to go out and use them. Note you can still buy that end game mod at level 10 on the fleet Skodan 1 any planet com = 1 plantery com
  13. well to be fair alot of times the guy in the costume is the manager, but yeah I agree with the jist. Also halarious loved the "romance" and hey they but a flirt option in the last one now i have a morbid curiousity about how that one would go in the bath.
  14. realy SW severly out guns the reapers. a single Star Destroyer is capable of makeing planets unliveable in a mater of days if not hours. nearly all worlds have planetary defenses that require something on the order of a death star to break through. Most small ships are capable of crossing the galaxy in days with out the use of mass realys. Oh and none of the SW galaxy tech has the built in back door for the reaper because it was based on tech they left behind.
  15. The short answear is yes they have hit a "brick wall" in tech design basicly they have had these techs for so long that there realy isn't much they can inprove on them kinda like the oldest of human tools look the same now as they did thousands of years ago sure we can make them better but a knife still looks like a knife, a wheel looks like a wheel and a spear looks like a spear. Some members or alies of the republic have had hyperspace travel for hunders of thousands of years such as the Columi (2,000,000 but lost intrest in it till about 100,000 BBY) and the Gree (300,000 BBY) the humans and Duros gained hyperspace tech and formed the first galactic republic in 25,053 BBY but by that point had colanized much of the core worlds and the Je'daii, the percurors to both the jedi and sith, were formed on Tython by 36,453 BBY. And by no means were any of these the most advanced civalazations out there, the old Rakata were in some ways greater then even the galatic empire was and then there are the Celestial Architects
